### 5/5 — Wonderful and Interactive App

*2013-11-30, version 1.0.2*

The Nativity Story is a wonderful and interactive app. It's great for beginning readers as the narrator can read the story to you or you can read the story yourself for more advanced readers. Each scene is beautifully illustrated in pop-up book style as you move from page to page. You can interact with many objects on each page by moving them or getting them to talk. This app is another wonderful way for kids to be reminded of what the Christmas season is all about.

### 5/5 — Great App No Matter Your Age

*2013-11-30, version 1.0.2*

I was really happy to be able to review the The Nativity Story App. I like you can download it onto your iPhone or iPad.

First of all I love how simple and easy this app is to use. Second thing I love about it was that you could either read it by yourself or you could have it read to you. Plus if you have it read to you, you can push on the character's on certain pages and the character's will add a little extra.

I also really like the fact that it can be read in 3 different languages.

It's a great story to get you in the holiday spirit. It's also a great tale about Mary and Joesph and Jesus. That can be told over and over again.

My children really enjoyed listening to it being read to them. Especially my 6 year old. And even though it's suggested for children 3-8 years old. My 10, 11, and 12 year olds enjoyed listening to it.

I would definitely suggest this app to anyone with young children. Though it's enjoyable for everyone in the family.

### 5/5 — Love it!

*2013-11-30, version 1.0.2*

This app is fun, truly interactive and tells a beautiful story. The illustrations are lovely! It's great for a wide age because kids can be read to or read independently. The fact that it offers more languages is a bonus for bilingual families or students learning a foreign language to have a fun immersion experience. Great family app, we enjoyed it!

### 5/5 — Loved the interaction

*2013-11-27, version 1.0.2*

This was a great app to share with my little one, she loved the level of interaction, it was like she was "playing a game" while learning the story of Jesus. Plus, there was the opportunity to have it read for you or to read it on your own!

### 5/5 — Beautiful!

*2013-11-27, version 1.0.2*

I love the old pop-up books from my child hood and I love to view old wood cuts so this app blended new technology with the old feel of a time gone by into one fantastic app. The app opens with a ‘cover’ of a beautiful book with a flickering candle illumination Mary, Joseph and Jesus at which point you can chose from the English, French or Spanish version, after you chose your language click on the cover of the book which then allows you several other options such as read to me, read by myself, explore the Scriptures, as well as the app credits, other books, etc.

I tried out the read to me first, as I have both non-readers and readers in my house, the voice that did the reading was pleasant and it was easy to follow along, although highlighting the words would have been nice for those beginner readers. I had a lot of fun making Mary, Joseph and the other characters talk, by clicking on the circles – if you don’t do them in order from left to right though their conversation doesn’t make much sense! Even the donkey makes noises if you click on him, and by swiping over Mary and Joseph, windows, doors you can make them travel, open and talk – which was quite exciting for my three children ages 11, 9 and 7 years old.

Overall, I think this app is great in introducing children to the Christmas story and my only really issue with it is the fact that Mary more than likely didn’t give birth as soon as they arrived in Bethlehem nor did they stay in an actual barn, as we know it today. I did appreciate that the wise men weren’t not shown in the story and it ended with the shepherds worshiping Christ and the angels praising God in the highest. I highly recommend this app, I only had an issue one time with it staying open and the other times it ran through with no issue and my children and I have really enjoyed it and I think it’s going to continue to bring us good memories for years to come.

**I was given this app in exchange for posting my HONEST opinion from FlyBy Promotions, no other compensation was given.

### 5/5 — Great App!

*2013-11-26, version 1.0.2*

Kids love Christmas and kids love apps. That is pretty much the story in our home. Each year my wife and I try to do our best to keep the focus on the “reason for the season.” So when a new app comes along that is interactive and scripturally based, you can bet I was interested.

This app is really unique and catching to the eye. It’s an inexpensive way to allow your children to interact with the most important story of the season. We downloaded both the iPhone and iPad apps. The kids seem to prefer the iPad just because it is larger and easier to see. Either way, they are both worth the download. There is no greater time than today to download the app and allow your children to begin focusing on where it all began.

### 5/5 — Interactive and Educational

*2013-11-21, version 1.0.2*

My kids, who are 6 and 4, really like this app! As a mom, I'm glad for them to have this interactive way to learn about Jesus' birth. They liked tapping the screen to create dialogue and sound effects. My first-grader liked that she could read it to herself or listen to the narrator and my preschooler loved the animal sounds!

### 5/5 — Beautifully shared!

*2013-11-08, version 1.0.2*

Love this new app! Just in time for Christmas.

Really like that the story is offered in THREE languages. French, Spanish and French.

The illustrations are delightful- fun, colorful , love the motion/action.

Great for my grand kids who are learning spanish along with their english.

Would love to see Noah's Ark next!

### 5/5 — Best Christmas Story Ever!

*2013-10-17, version 1.0.2*

Keeps my 1.5 and 3.5 year
Old entertained EVERY time we listen. Interactive and FUN! Going to listen to this every day in December so my children understand the true meaning of Christmas!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 4/5 — Used for Advent night

*2013-12-03, version 1.0.2*

My 7 year old and I sat down to play with the app as a part of the start of our advent activities. As someone else mentioned, the only issue he had was when some of the options pushed talked over the story. Otherwise, it's easy to use and the interaction made it fun for him!

### 4/5 — Interactive Fun and Focus on Christ

*2013-12-02, version 1.0.2*

After I had flipped through several screens of the Nativity Story App I was ready to close it and move on with my day. My son was not. He had been peering over my shoulder watching and he would not rest until every conversation between characters was heard and every page surprise revealed. This fun interactive app shares the Bible story of Christmas in a way my kids love! You can read on your own, listen to the narrator and choose from three languages!

### 4/5 — Fun, Interactive

*2013-11-21, version 1.0.2*

Once downloaded you can choose English, French, or Spanish. Then the viewer decides to "Read to Me" or "Read by Myself." Each page "opens" like a popup book, showing depth. The story is interactive as many pages include "comment" signs which can be tapped to hear what the character is saying. Sometimes windows open with people behind them or you can move the donkey with a swipe of your finger or ring the bell. Each time I viewed a page, I found something else to push, pull, or move. The rhyming lines tell an interactive and child-driven story of Mary and Joseph's journey to Bethlehem and birth of Jesus. The extra feature allows you to explore the Bible text.

There were a few points that were a little strange. A woman speaks and sounds like a man and the Bible story was stretched to add fun and childhood understanding.

Over all my son enjoyed this app and sat very entertained when I had him give it a trial run.

### 4/5 — Great app for kids

*2013-11-10, version 1.0.2*

Good app for young kids to teach about the Christmas story

### 4/5 — Beautiful graphics but some issues

*2013-11-09, version 1.0.2*

I really liked the beautiful graphics and interaction on this app. The text that was read was good as well...it rhymes and has good content. I only had a few issues. I noticed that some of Joseph's words were a little unbelievable ("Mary, I love you so much. I think I'll make you something."...or something like that). The first thing my daughter said was, "Mom, one of the characters that was supposed to be a woman sounds like a man." I noticed that, too. A little confusing for kids. There was a female voice for Mary, so I think they could add one for the other character. ~Stacey

### 5/5 — gorgeous

*2013-12-03, version 1.0.2*

the illustrations are beautiful- like a vintage storybook! the character voices are friendly & realistic. the background music is subtle, twinkly, and sweet. the narrator sounds like a charming father or grandfather. My kids are 5 and 8 and they love this app. It's perfect for this time of year to remember the true meaning of Christmas!

### 5/5 — Excellent Retelling of the Birth of Jesus

*2013-12-03, version 1.0.2*

My 8 1/2 year old loves this app. It's so quaint. She enjoys getting to choose between the story bringing automatically read to her verses her reading it. She also loves the extra things on each page to push, pull, or spin that make the story come to life. I love how modern technology has embraced an old-fashioned pop-up book, and made it even better.

### 5/5 — Very Good App for Children

*2013-12-03, version 1.0.2*

I showed the app to my eight-year-old son and said, "I'm going to write a review on this app, so I need you to tell me what you think." On the first page, he said, "I like it!" He loved the interactive features all the way through the story. I highly recommend this app for anyone whose 2-8 year-old child might have an opportunity to use it during the Christmas season!

### 5/5 — Detailed and Intetactive! Love it!

*2013-12-02, version 1.0.2*

This app shares the Nativity Story in a fun and interactive way! You can read the story or choose to have it read to you.

This app is full of fun sound effects and beautifully detailed pictures that come to life through the story! The whole family can enjoy this app and remember what Christmas is about.

### 5/5 — Wonderful presentation of the Nativity story

*2013-12-02, version 1.0.2*

Available in 3 languages. Children can read the pages themselves or be read to as the characters come to life. Has a nostalgic "old school" feel to it yet is highly modern and interactive. The sound effects are phenomenal and the pages are easy to turn as well. Love that it includes scripture from Luke 1:26-38 on this app too. This would be a great app for families, children and those in ministry.
