Non-subscribers may access the app by starting a free trial. A subscription costs $11.99 a month or $119.99 annually, and includes a 7-day free trial, after which it will automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period and will state the cost of renewal. Any unused portion of a free trial period, if offered, will be forfeited when the user purchases a subscription to that publication, where applicable. Subscriptions may be managed by the user, and auto-renewal may be turned off by updating the user’s App Store Subscription settings after purchase. Payment will be charged to iTunes account at confirmation of purchase. This isn’t user error. I assumed it was actually a bug that someone would get around to eventually, but the automated Condé Nast sign in link genuinely doesn’t work, so… I’ll just have to delete the app. And potentially reconsider my subscription, since I can’t access this content on the go. ### 1/5 — Garbage *2026-08-14, version 11.3.8* I’m a digital subscriber. But the app refuses to open. The New Yorker help desk is equally useless. The website still works. I’m a hair away from cancelling a magazine I’ve subscribed to for 5 decades. But one thing I can’t get over is how the articles are narrated by an AI “voice.” It was really jarring to go from listening to human narrated articles on Apple News to AI narration on The New Yorker (honestly, still can’t believe it’s not the other way around). I fell for an Instagram ad and bought a three-month trial for $7. I was supposed to get a tote bag as well, but it never arrived. Then, without any notification, they charged me $150, which is a very big amount of money for me and of course, it’s non-refundable. **Developer response:** Thank you for your review, @Afesome. The three-month subscription was a trial offer, and the renewal price is outlined in the subscription terms at the time of sign-up. A renewal reminder is also sent by email 35 days before the trial period ends. As for the tote bag, please email your subscription information to support@newyorker.com, and our team will be happy to look into it for you. ### 3/5 — Audio issues *2026-07-31, version 11.3.7* Please fix the audio. It is so very glitchy !!!! Half the time it just refuses to start. Especially bad for downloaded articles.
