I love spreading out w the paper, especially on Sundays. I’m glad I have the app for this weekend & for mondays/Tuesdays w no physical paper. The online version has the ability to increase print size and is easier navigating when trying to finish a story on another page, typical online advantages over print. In that time, it has remained largely the same app, which I would describe as very bandwidth hungry and overall only marginally adequate. We are entirely reliant on cellular data for our wi-fi, and frequently it would take a very long time for an article or comic image to come into focus. These and several other problems with the old app seem to have been nicely resolved by the update. Its functionality with lower bandwidth is greatly improved, and overall it’s a slicker looking product. Better late than never! ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Poorly developed app *2018-08-30* This is an app for a small city newspaper, so I wasn’t expecting something incredible. The app’s design is poor, but it’s functional. However, the app suffers from a particularly crippling bug that causes a bank video to pop up and interrupt the app all the time. I maybe get a minute of reading in before the video starts popping up incessantly. One star for an app that can’t be used for longer than a minute. ### 1/5 — Poor design *2018-06-28, version 2.8.26* One of the worst apps I’ve ever used. Will not keep me logged in. Navigating is infuriating. Splash screen continually interrupts articles. ### 1/5 — Will not default to ePaper mode *2016-05-24, version 2.6.36* When I go into "Settings" and select "Start App > ePaper" the setting does NOT hold between closing then reopening the app. This behavior is different than past versions where the settings would stay as configured.
