But this app… It’s a mess. Whoever built this swindled them, and if you’re reading this, I’m calling you out. It feels like a very lazy version of the website, like there was a toggle switch that was like “do you want an app too?” And somebody pressed “yes” and it spit out this garbage. The interface is clumsy and outdated. You go through the whole booking process of meticulously choosing your service, time, and everything, only to finally select the boutique and poof, all your selections vanish. You have to start from scratch. That kind of user experience feels like something from 2011, not a brand as beautifully designed and forward-thinking as The Now. It’s honestly inexcusable as an app. The branding of The Now is flawless, the in-person experience is amazing, and this app is completely off-brand. This new version is nearly impossible to use - load time takes forever (if it loads at all), it only shows a week at a time, too many clicks that each drag to load. It’s frustrating and just not worth it. For members who want to see a month view of their preferred therapist go the website route - it’s still not ideal but at least it works. ### 1/5 — Worst update ever *2025-04-17* Hate the new app/update. I literally cannot make appointments on it. I had to call and make my appointment. I don’t understand what was wrong with the original app… I was able to make appointments easily, see the schedule of the massage therapists I wanted… please go back to the old app. The new one deters me from even wanting to go. ### 1/5 — Awful User Experience *2025-04-11* The old app was much better than this one. Load times are twice as long. The process to book an appointment is more confusing and clunky. Had to deselect an enhancement and then it still showed up in my booking anyway. Also previous appointments display oldest to newest which is not helpful. I don’t care to see my first appointment, I’d rather see my most recent past appointment first. Please switch back to the old app. This one is awful. ### 1/5 — New app terrible *2025-04-10* I used the previous app regularly to book massages. The new app interface aligns with the website better but doesn’t book for me after spending the time clicking all the boxes for location, duration, date, therapist, add ons, etc. it says it books but nothing shows up in my account. It did work from the website. I don’t like repeatedly being asked to add on enhancements. It asks you in the beginning and then again at the end. I prefer the old app. Simpler and more reliable. I can schedule a new appointment, but then I’d have to pay the membership fee again. Frustrating. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Don’t Even Bother *2026-05-30* The apps sole purpose should be for scheduling appointments. I booked through the app, showed up at the location, and was told nothing was in the system. The staff told me it’s recommended to call for bookings. Pointless to have an app that does not work. ### 1/5 — Garbage app *2026-05-18* It is hard to put into words how bad this app is. After waiting for about 2 minutes for the main dashboard page to load, all that displays is a gray box. You can’t see any of your upcoming appointments. On the booking page, you are not able to select ANY location in Arizona?! This isn’t an app, it is a frustrating patience and sanity tester. Hard to believe someone pushed this into a general release. Wow. ### 1/5 — A horrifying app that is hurting a great brand *2026-03-16* The NOW is a wonderful massage company and the vibe is immaculate. This app however is such an insane example of a company pinching pennies on something that is so simple and even cheap to get right, and it sends devastating signals about the brand and makes all that effort go to waste, or at least greatly reduces it. And for what? Like just spend a couple hundred dollars on an app developer it can’t possible be that expensive. One example: if you try to choose a different location after you’ve already selected your options, the app deletes everything you picked. All your options are wiped out and you have to enter them all again. Not even in 2009 would something like that have been acceptable in the app space. It’s garbage and again, I LOVE The Now which is why I’m taking the time to write this review. I don’t know what suit or out of touch person is not allocating a budget to an application that is proper, but they need to be fired because this ain’t how things are done in 2026. Or even 2015 for that matter. Or 2009. This app is unacceptable and yall need to do better for your well-paying clientele. ### 1/5 — App sucks *2026-03-01* Wow the 1 star reviews weren’t kidding. App is worthless. Massages are good though but the app should be set on fire it doesnt work ### 1/5 — Unusable - how am I supposed to book? *2026-01-09* 6 months later and the appt booking still doesn’t work in the app. ### 1/5 — Unsuable App for years *2025-12-31* Been a member of the now for several years and this app has always had critical glitches. Cannot book appointments on it. It freezes. It doesn’t save your location or let you edit anything in a smooth manner. Ton of user errors that simple beta testing would eliminate. I truly can’t understand why such a high end service like the now continually fails to provide adequate user experiences through their app. Always have to book online or call but let this be a fair warning that the app is simply unusable and the fellow reviews prove this. ### 1/5 — Truly one of the worst apps out there *2025-12-07* Truly one of the worst consumer apps I’m forced to try to use. Cheapens the experience. With what you spend on people answering the phone to make appointments because your apps sucks so bad you’d think you could fix it but it’s been like this for years ### 1/5 — Can’t create account *2025-09-16* Tried setting up an account. After completing all of the fields, the button to “create account” is dead and goes nowhere. I don’t write App Store reviews, but this app is so unnecessary bad, I have an irresistible compulsion to say something in public. No points; and may God have mercy on your soul. ## Most praised reviews (4 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Making improvements! *2026-01-07* The Now is the best massage place ever and while the app isn’t the best at this time I know they are actively working on it to make it a smoother experience! ### 4/5 — Seems to be fine! *2025-04-10* Everything worked fine for me. I was a little worried seeing all the negative reviews. Like seeing the credits! I do agree the available appointments aren’t as easy to navigate as before and I wish the therapist headshots were still there. I always use that as a double check on if I’m remembering the correct persons name, by seeing their photo. ### 2/5 — Schlimmbesserung *2025-03-15* The Germans have a word “Schlimmbesserung” which literally means “making things worse while trying to make things better”… this seems to describe the updated app and website. On my iPhone using the Safari web browser, I am not able to make an appointment AT ALL… when I tried to book for myself and a guest, it requires you to make choices for type of massage or duration or pressure etc., but the menus for “Your pressure” etc do not work despite having arrows indicating there should be a sub-menu. Then you can no longer continue from that point onward to make any appointment. The app still works, but it would be much more helpful and convenient if you could save preferences and guest info etc instead of having to re-enter the information every single time. ### 2/5 — NOT an improvement *2025-03-13* Prior app navigation was much easier, this new app is way to clunky. It won’t even let me deselect an enhancement. About the only improvement is allowing you to see your credits on account. You should be able to save preferences, makes you go through everything all over again when you log in.
