The App of the official Prado Guide is the best way to enjoy the Museum from anywhere you wish. It is intended for visitors and for anyone interested in discovering the collection of one of the world’s most important art galleries.

This is the ideal guide for understanding, learning about and enjoying the Museo del Prado’s classical European art collections, spanning centuries of history, from the Roman era sculptures to Sorolla’s 19th century painting.
A collection fruit of the Spanish monarchy’s penchant for collecting art; 
Velázquez, Goya, Tiziano, Bosch, Raphael… indisputable masters and iconic works such as Las Meninas or The Garden of Earthly Delights.

As a guide to the museum, this app is pointless. No maps, no real guides, no audio. Just a few paintings you can look at descriptions of before being asked $5 for it. May as well as just Google them.

Lo primero que recomiendan para visionar las obras es que descargues la imagen pero luego no te deja hacerlo….
Supongo que se debe a que el propio museo vende la opción de imprimir cualquier obra.
Pues pongan imágenes con resolución intermedia y eliminen esa falsa opción

La descarga de los cuadros en alta resolución que te permitiría ver las obras con más detalle no funciona, cuando seleccionas ls opción aparece una rueda dando vueltas y al Cabo de un buen rato te informa que se ha agotado el tiempo de espera.

Qué vergüenza que la app te obligue a pagar por la información de las principales obras. ¿Así es como quieren fomentar la cultura?

Además, la app no incluye una audio guía para ir escuchando la información de las obras mientras paseas por el museo.

I was hoping this would be useful, but it provided no information that couldn’t already be found in the museum. For instance:

-It tells you what pieces are on display at the museum, but not where they are. So finding a piece shown in the app is more happenstance than anything
- There isn’t a built in map feature or even a link to a static map. For wayfinding, I used Google Maps. But this is something that should have been incorporated.
- Other museum’s apps allow you to connect to an audio tour or audio description of a specific art piece. This app doesn’t do that.

La resolución de los cuadros es notablemente menor que la ampliación que puedes hacer, por lo que te deja bastante insatisfecho. Por otra parte es de suponer que irán añadiendo obras, pues en este momento no es muy numeroso.
