## What is The Offline Place?

The Offline Place is for people who want to reclaim some of their time back from the internet.

We don't hate the internet. In fact, we like it too much it feels like it's in the way of living life. You wish to focus on something, but the internet has a hold on your attention. Getting off the internet is hard. We built The Offline Place to motivate each other to do what we want to do with our time. The internet is an amazing place. We just want it to be a place where we can be on it when we want to, and off it when we want to.

Building new habits, or in this case, getting out of an old one, is a challenge. We track steps, workouts, and sleep to build better health habits. For many of us, our attention is the most important asset we own. Building healthier habits around it is what The Offline Place is about. Whatever you want to do with the time you have is up to you. Sharing with friends helps keep the motivation up.

What do we mean by being offline? That's up to you. Getting away from whatever on the internet is keeping you from living the life you want counts as being offline.

HOW IT WORKS
* Start the timer and go offline. You can also log a session retroactively.
* Notify people you won't be reachable for a while.
* When you're back, end the session. Record your thoughts and share the session with your friends, or choose to keep it private.
* Track your weekly progress.
* Create and find local groups centered on fighting internet addiction.
