But it’s become buggy enough to nearly be unplayable. ### 4/5 — Decent Turn-Based Strategy *2025-01-17, version 12.0* Sunk about 24hrs into this to unlock everything. A little anticlimactic because by the time all the characters alternative skills are unlocked, you've gotten used to playing with the defaults. I expect I'll replay, but it seems like the the locked items/features were just a way to hobble the characters and add difficulty to extend gameplay; locked features in place of creativity and better game design. Basically you end up traversing the board from one side to the other leveling up your inventory --- that describes every variation. The game got stuck in the dice roll animation (I guess they're using real physics, but their math is bad and sometimes a die lands on an edge) at least 4 times. It also crashed the first time I played the Scientist Escort version: after everyone got to the exit, the board was still animated but there were no UI elements. Still fun, and wish there were more games like this because it's very well suited to playing on a tablet. ### 3/5 — Bug Report *2025-01-04, version 12.0* Can’t finish the scientist mission. I get scientist to the exit and then get all my heroes on he exit and then it freezes and locks up I have encountered another bug on the classic mission in large map. I kill the boss but there are no more places to search, no more anchors, and no exit. ### 4/5 — Fun, Beautiful, but… *2024-11-15, version 12.0* The art is excellent. Concept is compelling. Game design well balanced. But the programmer is making buggy code. Stuttering animation even on a fast pro iPad. Crackling sound. Crashes on occasion. Healing actions available when no one is hurt. Phantom or misplaced clue symbols. I’ve had to abandon a game that wasn’t behaving properly. I enjoy playing this, but the bugs can be killjoys. ### 2/5 — Fun but borderline unplayable *2024-10-13, version 12.0* I can’t say much about the mechanics or how it plays other than it seems fun and interesting, but it constantly crashes and freezes and renders mechanics unusable. The local co-op, which is why I wanted to play it, is absolutely unplayable. The turns are timed at a ridiculously short 30 seconds, you can barely see what the other person is doing, and what the other player does usually doesn’t affect anything on your screen, so if they kill a monster it often makes it unkillable on your screen but it can still attack you, or if they unlock the exit it won’t appear on your screen. Or any one of a million problems that appear. Genuinely, I would really love this game if only I could play it, just fix at least the game-breaking bugs. ### 3/5 — buggy but fun *2024-08-21, version 12.0* that’s why i was frustrated enough to leave a review. sometimes you can’t do search or attack or move when you clearly should be able to ### 2/5 — Zombiecide Rip off *2024-07-12, version 12.0* For a zombiecide rip off it is half way there. I am finding it annoying that there is no information on the monsters. I cant attack hounds or shamblers with any of the weapons I have found so far. There is no indication that they are immune to low level damage. At least in Zombiecide the weapon damage of 2 let you kill Fattys - which are the same as the shamblers. Runners are hounds. Etc. the game has copied zombicide closely except for the part that makes it playable. ### 2/5 — So much potential - buggy! *2024-07-11, version 12.0* I really like this game and would love to play it more, but the bugs are making it unplayable. In particular, there is a bug where I can’t attack The Hound in any position. Very frustrating and game breaking. Please fix! I struggle to play more than one game at a time because it’ll just start glitching and no longer allow me to make any moves or do anything except skip my turns. Likely won’t be playing again after this. ### 4/5 — Brilliant *2024-03-31, version 12.0* Unsure if you individuals past reviews are visible anywhere or not, but I very rarely (if ever) leave reviews. This game, however, needs it! The reviews so far don’t paint a fair picture, with most that I can see being 2+ years old?! A few quick notes, there are not only four characters, there are harder monsters, there’s a full rulebook that has EVERYTHING and is simple to navigate and read. It’s absolutely brilliant and I’ve already sunk many hours in. I want more of this type of app available tbh lol. My ONE qualm is the camera controls are a little bit finicky, manageable but could be improved and it makes me put one less star because the camera angles can be a little annoying at times to see where characters are in relation to one another etc. BUT don’t let that one qualm or previous (old) reviews put you off, this is a great game if you’re into board game style, dice, D&D, rpg, horror-ish, fantasy… the list just goes on tbf. This has killed me in the game several times already. ### 3/5 — After tutorial the game is unplayable *2023-11-14, version 12.0* It’s nearly impossible to beat a map even at the easiest lvl because you can’t attack hounds and if the game chooses to generate hounds on the map unless you get lucky and avoid them they kill you pretty quickly. The game also glitches and freezes when I try to attack a hound or enemies in another zone even if I have a long range weapon. There is one issue that I’m experiencing consistently where my heroes are unable to attack within the same zone. I can’t select the zone I’m in to attack when I have a weapon that works with zero range. When this happens, I am also unable to click the end turn button to try and move the game along. Great idea, but it needs to be updated or fixed or something. ### 4/5 — Great game *2023-08-31, version 12.0* Good board game but the consumable item ability on the vet is broken and it won’t let you use consumables twice otherwise it would be 5 stars ### 2/5 — Please squash the bugs! *2023-08-19, version 12.0* It’s unfortunate that the team behind this game seem to have checked out and don’t bother updating or reading reviews, because this game has become frustrating with the bugs. Already my game crashes after I beat the Horror, but the scientist level is almost unplayable. If he gets wounded even once, from there on it doesn’t matter how far away another monster is, as soon as they move, he dies! Game over! It’s the game Zombicide but without all the hassle of setting up a board game. But it’s UNPLAYABLE, one level works and then it bugs out every game the second an enemy named the hound spawns. If continuing a game, can often encounter search for cards that is broken, card disappears and action is used but no item is given, must abandon that game. Scientist bodyguard you cannot win. You get everyone to exit and scientist too, you get achievement for win without killing horror, but then game is frozen, no way to move or do anything, must quit and abandon game. Also its unclear how damage is applied and i think that is bugged sometimes too e.g. smg if hits twice shambler only does 4 damage no kill, same with hunting rifle two hits only deals 4 damage (but 1 hit is 3 damage?!). ### 1/5 — Take this off of Apple Arcade *2023-10-19, version 12.0* It's broken and hasn't been updated in over a year. Every time a hound spawns and gets on my tile, I can’t attack it, can’t move, can’t do any action for either character except end turn until I lose. Tried deleting, clearing cache, resetting map, new map, everything. ### 1/5 — Doesn’t work *2023-01-15, version 12.0* I recently reviewed at 3 stars due to not being able to attack Hounds, I was unsure if this was a mechanic built into the game. Played another few rounds and kept dying, I’ve noticed I cannot attack an area that a hound is in, I always cannot move after attempting to attack a hound, the character icon appears in the left and doesn’t go, it obscures other information so definitely shouldn’t happen. As you play you get to unlock different items and there are different level of difficulty to play. Trust me. DON’T MISS IT. The reduced star rating is because there are bugs. It’s true—there are. They don’t break the game, and they don’t’ happen often, but they’re frustrating when they show up. But I’m still rating this five stars because this is one of the most unique and interesting games on the App Store. Developers should make more games like this, and I’d love to see this one expanded. However, post iOS 15 update, my favourite game is now working again and better than ever. Thanks for creating a truly wonderful turn-based team game that my partner and I have rinsed our way through many weekends playing.
