Particularly when I’ve only used it a few times. I will give you a low rating every time when you do that ### 2/5 — Unable to fetch categories *2021-07-10, version 1.3.7* The app seems polished and well put together, but I can’t get passed onboarding it just hangs then gives an error “Could not fetch categories, please try again”. Easier to keep up with podcast than on the iTunes app. However if you switch apps on your phone, and then close the other one out, the podcast does not automatically resume the way other podcast apps do. Another thing is it’s hard to get to the podcast Paige if you’re on the episode page ### 3/5 — Promising *2020-08-11, version 1.3.7* Interface is great & good features. Love the absence of spammy ads. The only downfall is that some podcasts come in way later than other apps & some podcasts not available. However missing some things, can’t refresh podcast feeds and importing from other apps doesn’t always import all the episodes. I really like the interface and the look of the app but I noticed the last update to the app was made about three months ago. Has this project been abandoned or should we expect more updates? ### 4/5 — Simple, Lovely UI. But slow! *2020-05-21, version 1.3.6* This app is unique with a beautiful, bezeled interface. Still needs lots of improvements like: Good response times, A nice homepage, etc. ### 2/5 — New episodes *2020-05-07, version 1.3.6* The app doesn’t seem to be refreshing to display newer episodes of podcasts. It’s stuck in many podcasts with only episodes from a week or so ago being displayed ### 4/5 — Can’t delete podcasts *2020-03-08, version 1.3.6* I love this app. This app is almost 5 stars in my book. Playlists are amazing. My only issue is that while you can select podcasts to download, you can’t select those to delete. This is an issue as I have some that I’ve listened to that I have no way of deleting even after I’m done with them. It just takes up space and that’s frustrating. I really love this app, fix this issue and it’s 5 stars for me. ### 3/5 — Missing podcast episodes *2020-02-05, version 1.3.5* My favorite podcast to listen to is Ear Biscuits by Good Mythical Morning. However when I went to to subscribe I noticed that out of there possible 226 episodes you could only listen to 108 of them. Why is that? ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Bait and Switch *2022-09-15, version 1.4.0* As soon as you download this app, when you open it says it’s no longer supported and to download a different app. If they’re not going to support this app, it should be removed, or at least post a warning in the description. ### 1/5 — Wasted my time! If this is Not Supported then say say! *2022-05-13, version 1.4.0* Don’t bother with this app. Sounds great but no longer works per developer. ### 1/5 — Dead *2022-04-21, version 1.4.0* I opened the app to be told it’s no longer supported and to go download a different app. ### 1/5 — Annoying from the start *2021-08-17, version 1.3.7* I start up the app for the first time and it asks me for my interests. I already know what podcasts I listen to, and I don't want to find new ones. It won't let me skip that question, though, insisting that I select at least one interest. If that's how annoying the app creators allow this app to be from the beginning, it's obviously not going to be the app for me. ### 1/5 — Not understanding *2021-07-13, version 1.3.7* I can’t even get past the introduction. I don’t have anything to import as I already deleted the Apple podcast app from my phone because of malfunctioning. This new app Listen, it won’t allow me to search for podcasts which is super frustrating as I’m looking for a new app that works properly ### 1/5 — Never worked. *2021-07-01, version 1.3.7* Keep asking me to choose categories but then got an error message that it had no categories! I’ve subscribed to a series of podcasts and most of the time when I start the app, it’s empty. None of my subscriptions are saved. Shame on you guys. Every human has a right to be heard. Please stop stifling free speech, it is a fundamental human right. ### 1/5 — Completely fooled by this!! *2020-07-27, version 1.3.7* I downloaded this app, and was completely and refreshingly surprised to find that this is THE PERFECT podcast app! Only to find (via a message in the app) that the creators are making this app OBSOLETE and will no longer be making updates and improvements. Instead, they want you to download their “social media” podcast app. (Insert here: eye roll, gag, revulsion, etc.) If I wanted “social media”, I would have looked for a social media app. Some people really just want a podcast app. What an incredible disappointment. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Listen | My Top Podcast Player In 2022 *2022-03-25, version 1.3.7* At first blush, Listen’s Podcast App appeared to me to be just another Podcast Player in an already crowded field. What set it apart for me was it’s silky smooth navigation, “NO ADDS”, customization tools for Podcast Library alphabetized order and arrangement which is important to a tinkerer like myself. I’d like to see the following features appear in future versioning updates though: 1. Repeat button, for playback 2. Larger Picture of podcast art | logo on player playback screen 3. Would like to see a setting that allows “My Library” to appear first on App launch as those are the Podcasts I want to get to upon start up. 4. Last but certainly not least: “APPLE CARPLAY Integration”, please add as soon as possible in near future updates.
