## What is The Poet's Muse?

Welcome to Poet's Muse v1.0.

"What can I write for you about?"

Poet's Muse is a quiet writing desk for poets — especially typewriter poets and street-side scribes — built around a single, beautiful prompt: a stranger walks up and asks you for a custom poem. It's a tool to help aspiring poets practice writing custom poems on the spot!

Tap the red key. Someone arrives.

A 92-year-old grandmother humming "O Sole Mio" while she cooks. A widower asking for a poem to leave on his wife's bench. A roller-derby grandmother named "Mildred Malice." A bankruptcy survivor planting tomato seeds on a fire escape. A nun who's still not sure about God. A janitor who works nights at a planetarium. Real-feeling people, real-feeling weather, in two or three sentences. Then it's your turn.

Write your response right inside the app on a vintage paper card. Your work autosaves as you type. When the poem feels finished, mark it FINISHED — a quiet red stamp lands on the page, your portfolio grows, and you keep your streak alive for one more day.

— SEVEN MOODS —
Romantic. Grief. Hope. Spiritual. Whimsical. Milestones. Oddly Specific. Each prompt is hand-curated or freshly generated, so no two requests feel the same.

— THE DESK —
A clean monospace canvas. Live word count. Auto-save. Tap the image icon to export your poem as an Instagram-ready card (4:5 or 1:1). Tap the document icon for a printable A6 PDF postcard.

— THE PORTFOLIO —
Every finished poem lands in your Completed tab — your portfolio of small letters back. Filter by mood, see how many you've written in each, tap any one to keep editing.

— THE CHAPBOOK —
Select up to twenty finished poems, give the collection a title, and download it as a real A5 PDF chapbook (cover + one poem per page) or a Word .docx for editing in Pages or Google Docs. Your portfolio can also be exported as a single .zip — every finished poem as a plain-text file ready to back up, print, or hand off to a publisher.

— GENTLE PRACTICE —
A quiet daily streak counter. Optional once-a-day notification at the hour you choose ("A stranger is waiting"). No social feeds, no likes, no algorithmic shouting.

— YOUR SIGNATURE —
Add an optional poet handle and commission URL. Toggle a subtle red watermark on your exports — every shared card becomes a tiny business card pointing strangers back to your real-world commissions.

— A NOTE ON CRAFT —
This is not a poem generator. It will never write a poem for you. It only brings you the request. The poem is yours.

Made for street-side typewriter poets, journalers, MFA students, sober writers, grieving writers, joyful writers, and anyone who wants a small daily door to walk through.

Cream paper. Charcoal ink. Red stamp. The patient hum of a key being pressed.
