There’s no way to fix it. I’ve created an entirely new account—same results. I want this to work. It just DOESN’T. ### 2/5 — Cannot connect chase cards *2026-02-14, version 3.3.9* This app used to be nice but at some point now none of my credit cards will connect. In particular, Chase Bank is no longer an option to connect for a bank whatsoever. given that Chase is the issue are for several Rewards credit cards this means I can’t connect my United or my sapphire or cards. As a result, the app is now useless - it poorly tracks points from Airlines which I normally do manually myself anyway and offers up a bunch articles that are mostly ads. I did like the feature that let me see which card was best for transactions, so if the ability to connect to Chase returns, this would dramatically change my rating ### 3/5 — Rather buggy atm *2026-02-05, version 3.3.9* I’d love to update my rewards balance, maybe if the button would work I could. ### 3/5 — What happened? It was a great and free place to value all your points and read great articles about credit cards, points, and travel. However, the app has been broken and barely able to be used for months. I’ve seen a lot of other reviews saying the same thing, but there still has not been a fix. Until there’s a fix, it’s pretty difficult and frustrating to use this app. ### 2/5 — Overall disappointing *2025-11-11, version 3.3.9* The app is great once you’re in, but I am consistently logged out, and then when I try to log back in, it takes you back to the login screen. I end up using their website on the web browser more often. Also the points valuation that the app does for your accounts struggles to keep your totals up to date and requires 2FA constantly. Better off keeping all of the data in an excel sheet still. Less work compared to the app. ### 3/5 — Broken Since July 8 *2025-10-22, version 3.3.9* Update: TPG is an indispensable resource for the credit card game, but there are a lot of issues with the app. The app wasn’t refreshing stories for nearly 3 months on iOS but is working again (though clicking “More Stories” in the “Latest Stories” area still doesn’t work). I emailed TPG but got no response. I’ve done everything (deleted & re-installed app, reset phone, log in and log out, etc.). This is clearly something on their side. Get it fixed and I’ll up the stars. Thanks ### 3/5 — So much potential *2025-09-29, version 3.3.8* I’m so torn with this app because I see the potential but little things make it less useful. It’s a beautiful design and easy to navigate. I wish I could edit its suggestion on which card I should have used on transactions. Some cards offer promos that outweigh the typical points. Or maybe I’m working on spending on one card to meet a welcome offer. Bonus if it knows which offers I’ve clipped and adds that into the ROI. For example spend $25 at Amazon with Amex and get 500 points back 3 times. For American Express I’d like the benefits shown to reflect current offers and not the old benefits. I also wish instead of a manual tracking system it was automatic for the benefits that come from statement credits. If it can see the transactions and adjustments it should be able to track those automatically. It would also be helpful if the points guy app under “points net worth” would display top transfer offers instead of having to look under each program under loyalty program. I’ll keep using the app, there is real value in it. I’ve used the app for a long time and it used to have my cards logged, and they are no longer visible. Consumers want/need this type of tool! However, I’ve been using it for well over a year and a half and maybe 20% of my cards/accounts will link. I still occasionally check in and take about 20 minutes to manually upload my points for each account just to confirm where I am at with various cards and loyalty accounts because I am hopeful that the app will improve with syncing. I had reached out to the support team and received feedback back in 2024 on what to do when accounts are not syncing - and over a year later, I’m still rather disappointed. ### 1/5 — Is this app ever going to work? *2025-08-08, version 3.3.4* Seriously, just remove this app from the App Store and start over from scratch. Account linking has never worked properly. The news feed was never current with the website, but now it doesn't update at all. Bookmarking articles was always hit or miss, but now it's completely broken. I could go on. ### 1/5 — Potential but bugs make it useless *2025-08-04, version 3.3.4* This app could be a nice to have but articles don’t refresh (mine have been showing 7/7 articles as the “latest”) even after deleting and reinstalling, essentially rendering the app useless. When I could read articles I was constantly asked to enter my email to continue reading certain articles, shouldn’t the app already know I’m signed in? When I tried using the points feature it only took half my cards/points balances and gave error messages for the rest so I ended up removing all of them, the app was again rendered useless. I have since deleted the app as it provides no actual value, at least until those bugs are fixed, even then I’m not 100% the value is there. ### 2/5 — Not Updating *2025-07-30, version 3.3.3* First and foremost your stories haven’t refreshed since 7/8 which isn’t great. But secondly, the new news/story flow isn’t that intuitive. Generally speaking the card sync feature is buggy and a pain to use. I thought no big deal, it’s easy enough to reset up my credit cards but now the app isn’t responsive when adding any new account. Is it possible you're using a different app than the rest of us? ### 1/5 — It’s great if it work! No support!! *2025-08-27* I loved this app until it stopped working. It stopped loading my data. I tried refreshing — still nothing. I tried quitting the app and restarting. I tried restarting my phone. And then the app stopped letting me sign in. It kept rejecting my password. Then, it froze my account due to too many unsuccessful sign in attempts. I unfroze the account, reset the password. It let me sign in, but still nothing data. I quit and restarted the app, then it would not accept my password and then froze my account again. Just reloop all of the above about 20 times. All the while, there is virtually no customer support. There’s no phone number, there’s no live chat. You can only send an email and they get back to you about a week later and say, sorry to hear that, what part are you having trouble with? Really? What part of I can’t sign in and have no data do you not understand? And then, you hear nothing for another week. TPG has seriously consolidated your info so well - you see everything in one place and it helps you spend smarter both in your day to day life and flights. It helps me keep up with the expiration dates too. I would like a way to be able to keep up with my wife’s accounts too. She can’t download her own app because we are on the same apple account. I am SO excited about this app! There are so many great features, and I’m seeing regular improvements. I love being able to punch in a destination and select a class and have the app show me how to combine or use points for it! It’s also nice to have all my award balances in one place, rather than having to look at each app/account individually. Highly recommend!! ### 5/5 — TPG app *2021-10-22, version 1.0.9* I’ve been collecting points and following suggestions and recommendations from The Points Guy for several years. Once TPG app became available, I immediately downloaded it. The app has allowed me to track my points and miles much more easily. Plus, its regular articles allow me to stay up to date with Amex Membership Rewards, Marriott Bonvoy, and a host of airline loyalty programs. ### 5/5 — Adds the missing half… *2021-10-06, version 1.0.8* I have seen credit card optimizer apps out there, but this pulls in a points-based flight search, lets you set goals, then changes the card recommendations for the trip you actually want. Game changer. Also I really like TPG and the article reading experience is a lot cleaner than their website. ### 5/5 — Has the potential to be the greatest! *2021-09-06* Great app! I had a few technical problems early on but I understand that this is a bet version and they have since been resolved. I would suggest that the feature allowing you to check which card is best to use for a certain store or category should be more prominent. It is only located with a single button on the “Cards” tab and when I test it from home I only get a popup suggesting one business that is a mile away from my current location. I think there should be drop down list of locations nearby to choose from. This feature should also have its own tab in the app since I believe it would be heavily used. I would also suggest adding the ability to automatically add or sign up for different card offers like the quarterly bonus categories for the Freedom Flex or the different vendor offers for AMEX and Chase. I still like the easier access to the TPG articles and calculation of points accrued and missed but I suggest adding all of the aforementioned features to make this app the best in the “points and miles” business. A couple bugs here and there but great nonetheless. I love being able to quickly see my points and the best way to use them. The feature that tells you what credit card to use based on your location is amazing. I’d love to be able to set this up as a shortcut and quickly access it from the Home Screen. Can’t wait to use this even more! ### 5/5 — Truly the travel app of my dreams (so far!) *2021-07-07* I was so lucky to come off the waiting list for TPG app today and have been waiting for so long since Brian at TPG announced his app. I’ve been in the “credit card rewards” life for a few years now and the biggest problem I have had is keeping track of which card and/or loyalty program is offering the best bang-for-my-buck at any given time in the year. And this app does that. After entering in my credit cards (all Chase mind you) and loyalty programs, the app not only gives me a current value for all my points, it also intelligently tells me where I missed more earning potential for each category of purchase. Additionally, it has an amazing “award explorer” that will give you the best estimate point redemption for any air travel given the loyalty program you’re enrolled in. As of this moment it does not search actual award charts as it only bases it off published and estimated redemption values, however it is a great starting place when it comes to award travel. It still needs a little help with some bugs, most notably that my app seems to log me out every other time I launch the app, but given its still in the “invite only” phase I expect that to be patched up before the full release. I am truly excited to see where TPG continues to go with this app! ### 5/5 — Easy to use with more utility than expected *2021-06-18, version 1.0.2* It is easy and not overly time consuming to link all of my accounts. I liked the points maximizing reporting although it would be nice to add a toggle or input for signup bonuses. I also liked the points estimator for future trips. Worth the wait! ### 5/5 — Early-access user: Rewards Explorer is mind-blowing *2021-06-18* You have to have signed up for early access to use the app. My invite finally arrived in my inbox. I knew TPG app would make all my dreams come true with the Rewards Explorer feature. No more spreadsheets! After syncing all your credit card and rewards programs, the Rewards Explorer will allow you to explore flight routes in different booking classes based on your combined credit card and rewards program points. It knows which cards allow you to transfer points to which rewards programs and what the transfer ratio is. For example, I now know I have enough points to fly one-way in business from LHR to SEA because it took into account my Amex points and my BA avois. I can transfer my Amex to BA and book the trip. Not only that, but it also includes routes that you can book on airlines that you aren’t signed up for yet.
