There ARE times where the game makes you make decisions, and there aren’t any pop up ads at all! (So far for me, at least). But then there’s this problem; It would he really nice if there was an option to watch ads to obtain things like Poise Points, Crowns, gems, etc. But there aren’t, making you have to pay for such items or wait for the lessons that take FOREVER to regen. But i like that im a pretty princess in a grand palace 😊 ### 4/5 — Good but room for improvement *2023-07-22* Pros: Exciting routes, active fan base, fun events, easy to navigate, routes can be changed at any time without consequence. Cons: Not free to play, basic features in comparison to older Voltage party games like Samurai Love Battle. The UI is a bit out of date, sure, but I have been enjoying it a lot. Maybe it’s just nostalgia, but it’s charming. Cant wait for some of my favorite characters to get their routes too! ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Big issue here- *2024-05-17* So uh- I finally got the app after I convinced my over-controlling mother to get it (everything on my device is controlled by her, google is blocked etc..) but uhm when i opened the app it had a webpage open. I don’t believe that was included in the description, When i told my mother to unblock it she said that she wouldn't because thats a form a phishing so uhm.. if you could fix that issue with the game when you open it, that would be awesome. (I wasn't able to play or see any art, dialogue, unless I looked at it on the app store…) ### 1/5 — Not a Game *2023-06-28* This was advertised as a rolepaying game. I got to chapter 2 before I realized the only thing I could do would be hit next. No decisions were offered to me in about 10 minutes of diologe. ### 1/5 — Does not work *2023-06-19* Does not work, only blank green screen. ### 1/5 — voltage please please please 😭 *2023-06-01* i’ve been playing voltage for the longest time now. i’ve been playing their games during their gree days and when they had stand alone apps for their pay to play otome games. but for their free/party games, voltage fails to optimize their screen. the screen very much shows that it’s meant for the devices that aren’t screen to screen (like when iPhones still had the button to go to their home screen). it’s been years since screen to screen mobile devices became apparent and it became the norm for society now… their user interface is very much old school to the point their games have a very cheap feel; poor translations, wrong sprites showing up when who’s talking and the wrong names being displayed when continuing dialogue. voltage, please modernize the interface for your users. i’m afraid if you continue to ignore optimizing the features for users, it’ll be your downfall… ### 2/5 — Play Court of Darkness instead *2024-06-27* I’ve been playing since around launch and this game has a lot of gameplay problems that make it very unkind to free to play players. You don’t get enough wardrobe spaces for all the event items you obtain and it’s difficult to even complete half of events when you get less than chronically online friends. There needs to be more closet space rewards given in item events because more often than not I have to use premium currency to buy more space before they expire. The gameplay itself is also somewhat janky. It doesn’t format to newer iPhone styles so it looks like it’s a Barbie game from 2012 with all the pastel colors and constant ui presence. The tap to load is awful. I haven’t bothered to read more than two routes because I don’t like any of these characters and the events are way better. The events tone down problematic aspects of characters that are on full display in their storylines (Simeon’s panty jokes, Farris), but many are boring, problematic, or rushed due to time constraints. Overall, I would recommend you play Court of Darkness (aka CoD, also by this company) instead. This game feels like a rough draft of it, so CoD is much better. And if you play CoD, don’t waste your time on this one, it is not as good. ### 2/5 — Just ok *2023-08-24* A cute premise, but it’s hard to enjoy when all the characters are either flirtatious or possessive, manipulative, and rude… ### 3/5 — A very good game! But.. *2023-06-30* There should be more skin color options an hairstyles for the protagonist ### 3/5 — Good, but room for improvement *2023-06-14* At first I wasn’t too sure about this game, but it’s kind of grown on me. I’m interested in seeing where all the stories go. I’m not sure how to describe it, but parts of this game make me feel like it’s 2012 again. I’ve run into the occasional incident where a button just doesn’t work or is super picky on where you tap it to get it to work. I am also not a huge fan of the ‘tap mirror’ thing at the start of every story part. The translation is also done in a way that makes it very obvious it is translated. Sometimes the way characters speak will go from super formal to an almost jarringly casual remark. I think it’s hilarious, but that’s just me. (Also note to the devs: there is a typo in the prologue that says they’re in the moon instead of room. I’m not sure that’s been fixed in the few days since I started.) ### 4/5 — Money *2023-09-11* Lovely and cute, I’ve loved the stories so far. I played through Joseph and I thought I was able to go through the alternative story but it made me start all over. Also, the game is kinda expensive. I am now playing through Luca and can’t make much progress because of the need for affinity points and gems, and all that is pay to get. I can’t afford $5-$20 every time I start a new chapter or new event game. If was a little cheaper I’d be more inclined to buy stuff, and I have paid for gems a few times in Joseph’s story, but I can’t keep doing that with every suitor, it’s just getting to be too much for my wallet. ### 4/5 — Gems *2023-08-31* I love this game so much! its funny and entertaining but there is one problem... The gems are pretty hard to come by and i will not spend money on them. Its very new player friendly and gives plenty of rewards, also the characters and story are very well written. The art is really pretty and the dress up feature is very cute. I dont feel restricted in my decisions like i do in other otome games, there hasnt been a time where i felt like i needed to pay for the better option. But it is important to note that you cant binge play the game, you get rewards and half an episode daily which is great i love it ! I really recommend this game i have basically nothing bad to say about it and i wish the english community around it would grow :) ### 5/5 — Wish they’d reconsider *2024-10-09* This is a cute story, with decent plot lines, tons of interesting characters and event stories were unique compared to the main storyline. They had so much potential with this game but the downfall can be summed into one word: expensive. Compared to their other games, this game gave no ways for them to earn money without a straight purchase of gems. Some of their other games gave you little sets for events with both real life money or in game gems, a little monthly subscription plan, or even holiday bundles. But they gave up and ended the game too soon. What stories they have currently are still worth a read. But through events and such they introduced tons of other characters with the potential to have more stories, more character development, etc. The main storylines didn’t really give a full look into the characters, and their events really developed their characters more and more. The main storylines didn’t do them justice. I feel like they ended this game too soon without really trying, and it’s such a shame. Here’s hoping that one day they come back to continue to develop this game. If they marketed it better, I think they’d have a better outcome. Straightforward romance story with a simple plot. I can definitely see routes becoming repetitive but we’ll see. Only gripe is that so far there seems to be no way to get premium currency (gems) without paying, unlike in SLBP where free currency can be earned through lotteries/events/visiting friends. This is concerning as each route has one avatar mission that can only be cleared using gems. Luckily, it is not a very expensive hurdle to overcome. I have high hopes for this game.
