Your songwriter career starts here. The Prog Machine is the only app musicians and songwriters will need to generate outstanding chord progressions. From a single interface, you will have at your fingertips five types of chord progressions to inspire you and help you in playing or composing songs in any style.

Over 130 chord progressions available in seven keys. This makes a total of ... over 900 different chord progressions!!! There is no song on earth that has not been composed with one of the progressions available in this app.

The Prog Machine is designed to be used while playing your instrument. It´s not the classic app to be used lying on the sofa or while you are waiting for the bus. This is an application designed by musicians for musicians. It is the perfect app for musicians/songwriters who want to have a tool that generates a multitude of different chord progressions to help them in their work as a songwriter, practice time or simply to organize a small jam with friends.

Choose the key you want to use, C, A, E ... whatever. Then choose a type of chord progression. The app will show you a lot of chord progressions that sound incredibly well. You can play with your instrument the progressions as they appear on the screen or use them as inspiration for your own composition. You also have a help page with tips to get the most out of the app.

Five kinds of chord progressions available:

   - Standard Chord Progressions. Access the most beautiful and classic chord progressions with which it has built the music of the past 75 years. Basic two-chords and three-chords movements that you can use to compose more complex structures.

   - Minor Chord Progressions. Enjoy mind-bending chord progressions in a minor key.

   - Four Chord Progressions. Selected combinations of four chords that will give you the inspiration to compose verses and epic choruses. In addition, you have at your disposal progressions using the chords IIImaj and IImaj to access a greater musical variety.

   - Flat Degrees Chord Progressions. Create songs with the wildest sounds thanks to the inclusion of bIII, bVI and bVII chords. The most classic and powerful rock at your fingertips in incredible combinations that will serve as inspiration for your next song.

  - Turnarounds. A musical resource widely used in any song. In this section, you have access to dozens of turnarounds that represent the central axis of many songs. Use it as the main idea of a song or as an aid to composing an intro or a memorable chorus.

…which is how I use my iPad. Other than that, I agree with everything Steve8pi wrote. This is an elegantly designed app. I want to give it 5 stars. But, the text overflow in horizontal mode, while it doesn’t make it unusable, is irritating to an eye.

This is a handy tool to inspire chord progressions, and quite informative, as well. It’s easy-to-read and comes in quite handy when I’m stuck on a song. The Turnarounds are also helpful; I don’t believe I’ve seen them offered elsewhere.

For efficiency's sake, I do wish audio was also provided; but it’s not a dealbreaker at all. At this price for such a solid app, why complain?

Handy reference sheets for chord progressions. Don't expect it to play music. That's your job. This is purely a compact but comprehensive reference tool. Works well on my iPad. Has many progressions organized well. My only suggestion for developers would be to use lower case for minor keys. Instead of "I-V-II", use "I-V-ii". I think that's more common.

Sorry, but for 99p this is not good enough, just a list of chords. No way to play them to try them out, nothing. Just a sheet of chords depending on what scale you choose, nothing you can't get on the internet for free. Doesn't even tell you what notes are in each chord. Pathetic

**Developer response:** I'm sorry the app wasn't to your liking. The Prog Machine has no sound. It is specified in the app description in the App Store "There are NO MIDI or AUDIO FILES.”

This app was designed to show a huge amount of chord progressions on screen. In fact, this offers the largest amount available in a mobile app.
