I read the e-newspaper version every day.  It’s my favorite way to read the news

The log-in window rarely loads so that I can login and access subscriber content. That, and I paid for an annual subscription via Apple in March and have yet been able to activate it in the app so I’ve paid for a year of nothing.

Having access to a second paper is nice.  I get the ProJo and Newport Daily News, but the Newport stories are just a repeat of the Providence ones.  The algorithm should select only stories unique to the Newport paper, including town and restaurant news.  And please stop with the animated gifs.  I’m fine with seeing ads, and I’d even consider paying for ad free, but the moving ads make me switch away from the app.

What good is an app? If you can’t manage your subscription through it? That has to be done through the website. Subscription management is also flawed in that. I renewed my payment method and it didn’t go through.

The app recognizes my name, says hello Kevin but will not open and continually tries to get me to subscribe. Tried many avenues to resolve such as deleting app and reloading signing in signing out signing in nothing works. Just amazingly poor functionally inept app.
