He loves being read to in this one. The reading voice is perfect. The back ground noise made it more interesting. Yes there were a few issues BUT I don't think this will stop his intellectual growth. He even drew a picture of the frogs playing afterwards. And at our house...we play with cars and tracks! So even though I wondered if it was a mistake, my child did not. The music and narrations are relaxing and better than so many other narrated stories. The illustrations are lush and colorful. I also liked the option to touch each word and hear the word spoken. The word can also spelled out loud if you wish. I like how when you read it yourself and come across a new or difficult world, when tapped, says the word, spells the word and repeats the word again. My little boy has loved the purple frog from 3 to 11 months and I really want to thank the creator for the top notch effort. Purple frog has bright pictures, crisp music, subtle ambience and hey guess what no glitches ever on my ipad 4. I've purchased about 60 dollars worth of Disney and the dr. Seuss books. They are boring and long with poor narration, not to mention my son doesn't care about them at all. When purple frog comes on it is a treat. My son lights up and is 100% engaged in the story. The learning features this book provides should be mentioned as well. You can touch the words and individual letters to help your child learn to read and for me (a home schooling parent) That is priceless.Oh and the narrator has a wonderful kids book voice and very expressive reading techniques. Parents! this is where you start. Buy this before the Disney stories you like because this app was made to educate and engage your child's creative side not a book put into a digital format. To the creator, Please invest time in other books if at all possible and if you are a small operation open a donation link. I have wasted money on app books for my son so many times I would love to see more content of this caliber. It's a very nice little short story with a great message! There needs to be more books like this with these types of messages. I like the narrator's voice too ...it's clear, calm & he embodies the frog. I also like that when my 4 year old reads it by himself the words highlight as he taps along....this is a great technique for them to visually see the word that is being spoken & embeds in their minds. The only thing I don't like about the "read by yourself" section is that the words spell out far too quickly. It's a great concept, but a bit more delay is needed because little fingers are not always so quick to tap the next word - especially when they're showing Mum a beetle on the page. But this is a minor peeve. That said, I really do hope the maker does more books like this & that the narrator gets to do more too. I will be watching out for it.
