Make sure you step in muck and lose HP while you get stuck on an “island” with no way off.

Considering how many expansions released after Islands of Ice and Fire followed similar patterns (grouping a bunch of helpful NPCs in a set location and dumping an avalanche of sidequests, possibly having to save Cat(acomber) yet again, Old Shaman as the main quest giver, need I go on?) so naturally, I took off on the Norse mythology-inspired quest with a 'seen it before' mindset. I wasn't disappointed, as much of the formula the earlier expansions adhered to still made their marks here; the Old Shaman is still the acting main quest-giver, there are still real-life developers putting themselves in the microcosm of Thor's Hammer as sidequest giving NPCs. And lets not forget tapping walls and obscure parts of the scenery for quest-related items or hidden pathways. And yet, despite many repeated use of mechanics Thor's Hammer was still enjoyable all the same.

A good expansion. Just make sure to have your disease resistance maxed out.

The quest games are great, this one is no exception. Keep in mind this particular expansion is very disease heavy, can be trying.

If you enjoyed The Quest, you will love this expansion. Superb artwork and story. Excellent balance between puzzles and turn-based combat. Bravo to the team at Zarista for taking the original game to new levels!
