### 4/5 — A good daily reminder but could do with some updates

*2023-12-17, version 2.1.2*

I have really enjoyed the app where it has now become an important daily part of my day. I love how it has different reflective questions to avoid boredom which I can experience answering the same apps everyday.

A few suggestions that would enhance the app: having the ability to add an emotion that isn’t listed as I often feel the available options do not align with how I’m feeling.

Being able to go back on days to add them. I’ve at times forgotten to press done when I’ve entered info. When it’s the next day you then can’t log that info for the day it was

### 4/5 — Portrait no Lanscape

*2022-11-04, version 2.1.2*

This app only works in portrait mode. I have a keyboard attached to my case and it only works in landscape. However this app does turn to landscape when you use it. Would be a better experience if the app were to turn to and from portrait and landscape mode. Overall decent app however it tends to repeat itself with the questions.

### 4/5 — New user

*2022-08-22, version 2.1.2*

Have just started using this app with our whole family…. Including 3 teenage boys after reading the book. I would love to see Device time as one of the check in sections along with exercise, sleep and healthy eating. So important for everyone, especially teenagers, to stop and think about how much time they have actually spent on a screen each day.

### 4/5 — Great but needs notifications

*2022-02-09, version 2.1.2*

This is a good app for logging and following GEM but I need it to send me reminders!! Can you please update it so that it will send me a daily reminder notification.

### 4/5 — I hope they develop notifications

*2022-02-08, version 2.1.2*

I love the resilience project! I wish the app had notifications to remind you to practice your gem each day.

### 4/5 — Great app with a couple of limitations

*2021-11-20, version 2.1.2*

Really useful in assisting to reflect on gratitude, empathy, etc each day. On my second day I didn’t get a chance to complete it and wanted to do so the following morning, but couldn’t go back to the previous day which was a bit of a limitation. Also would be great if the app sent out reminders which the user could switch on or off, decide how many they would prefer, etc. Overall a great app to support a regular gratitude practice.

### 4/5 — Love the app, but wish even more positive

*2021-09-06, version 2.1.2*

Love GEM and all the questions on sleep, exercise etc.

Would love to see stats for sleep / exercise changes across time.

hope, gratitude and positive outlook are such an important part of resilience, and hope also predicts resilience. Would you be able to include one more questions on: what are you looking forward to most for tomorrow / something you are looking forward to tomorrow?

Thank you

### 4/5 — User friendly for all ages and technological abilities

*2021-05-11, version 2.1.2*

This app is great and focuses on the ‘gem’ principles without getting over complicated. I would suggest having the capability to be able to access your profile on numerous devices. I downloaded it onto my iPad first then later onto my iPhone, but the accounts didn’t link so I’m relying on always having my iPad to enter my daily updates. After all we don’t want to miss our runs of regular entries by having separate profiles on different devices.

### 3/5 — Needs updating and expanding!

*2021-02-21, version 2.1.2*

The app is a great idea, but it’s very limited. The range of emotions to choose from are too narrow and miss out on a lot of major feelings that would be useful to express.

Most importantly though, the GEM principles are pulling from a small bank of questions, especially the Empathy questions. At least the Gratitude questions are open ended and will have unique answers to the same questions each day. However, the empathy questions often only have a single answer, which means when they start coming up again, you’re not being forced to discover and think about yourself and your actions.

Please, update and expand the app to keep it fresh. Otherwise, there’s not much point in us doing it aside from keeping a daily diary.

### 4/5 — Love this app but please add cloud backup

*2021-01-13*

My 11yo son and I LOVE this app and the entire practice of daily GEM journaling. Could you please add either a login that you can use to securely store the information entered into the app (and then you can login on various devices) and/or cloud back up. I hate the thought that all of our journaling could be lost if anything happens to my phone

### 4/5 — Needs variety in mediation.

*2020-10-13, version 2.1.2*

Loving using this app however I am defaulting to the breathing exercise and then using a separate mindfulness app. I haven’t overly enjoyed the mindfulness sessions here and feel they could be improved in audio quality as well as the variety of sessions.

I do like the variety of the gratefulness and empathy questions and hope they continue to vary as I’m only one week in.

### 4/5 — Great concept but meditation section could be modified

*2020-09-07, version 2.1.2*

Would it be possible to allow users to log meditations that have completed outside of the app? I use insight timer as my preferred meditation app and would like to continue to use that.

### 4/5 — Meditation don’t work with headphones.

*2020-04-21, version 2.0.5*

Love the app and having an easy place to focus on GEM nightly. However, very frustrating that the meditations only come through phone speaker and don’t work with earphones or airpods.

### 4/5 — Great app however meditations...

*2020-03-10, version 2.0.5*

Great app! However meditations don’t work with headphones. This is really the only way I would use the meditations.

### 3/5 — Good but meditations do not work

*2020-03-04, version 2.0.5*

App itself is great - simple and easy to use. Meditations do not work though. My iPhone just drops out whenever I try and load one. Needs fixing

### 3/5 — Headphone/AirPod support?

*2020-02-07, version 2.0.5*

I am grateful for the app, however am unable to get the meditations to play through my headphones or AirPods. I have an iPhone X on the current version of iOS and the meditations seem to only play through the phone speakers.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Not working

*2022-11-20, version 2.1.2*

Installed, will not work. Contacted vendor, this is their reply: Unfortunately I suspect that as your version of iPad was released 10 years ago now, it is not supporting the TRP App.

I have 4th generation iPad Air running 16.1.1. Disappointed!

### 1/5 — High Hopes

*2020-12-29, version 2.1.2*

Had such high hopes for this app but it delivered nothing. Not sure what I paid for. Very expensive for what it is.

### 1/5 — Just get the journal

*2020-10-24, version 2.1.2*

Was expecting guided contact like the journal rather than a daily diary with no extra guidance, tips or prompts.

### 1/5 — Crash

*2020-02-05, version 2.0.5*

Just bought after being recommended by someone I know. Once the app is launched and a meditation is selected the video loads to about 90% and the app crashes. Path followed is
Menu -> Meditations -> Adult -> mindfulness for the day male voice -> crash.
iPhone 11 Pro running iOS 13.3.1.

### 1/5 — Poor

*2019-02-13, version 1.2.1*

The app only includes a few questions from the book and the meditation audio only includes 4 sessions, which then repeat themselves. Can't believe RP charge for this. What a con

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work on iPhone 6s

*2018-03-13, version 1.1*

Can’t click on emojis or anything apart from next in step 1. Not happy.

### 1/5 — The resilience project

*2017-11-25, version 1.0.5*

Ahhh this app not resilient! I tap on emoji’s etc nothing is working! 😡 frozen!?? I left it couple of hours but still nothing works! Shame i was genuinely looking forwrd to this!

### 2/5 — Easy fixes to make much better

*2020-06-08, version 2.1.0*

The app doesn’t live up to the stellar heights of the audio book. Not clear on 1st section if you do all three in that section or if you do one at a time. Insert photo doesn’t allow you to choose photos from whole album. The empathy section was just weird and talked about doing a screen grab but nothing about what to write about and why would you send a screw grab to someone else. The meditation section was again super unclear. I chose a 9 minute with partner and it was about getting home from work and understanding each other. The headline doesn’t tell you this and it just wasted 9 minutes of my life and frustrated me because the whole experience was so unprofessional compared to the book. I work in Marketing and all I can say is that this App is really bad for your brand. These things are easy to fix but at the moment the App makes your whole product come across as unprofessional and therefore unreliable. I wish I just stuck with the book. Please fix this.

### 2/5 — No reminders to do it

*2020-03-10, version 2.0.5*

All good intentions but I always forget and there is no reminder push to prompt you at a certain time or anytime for that matter

### 2/5 — Disappointed

*2018-05-02, version 1.2*

I can’t play the meditations using my data. It says it needs to access wifi to play them. Does anyone know how to fix this?

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Best investment for my mental health ✨

*2023-06-23, version 2.1.2*

It doesn’t take up too much time so it’s easy to stick to daily. One small daily task but makes a massive difference in my day!

### 5/5 — Life changing!

*2023-01-31*

This app has helped me enormously through a very challenging chapter. It has made me grateful for what I do have, and my outlook is so much more positive. Best few dollars I have ever spent! I’m almost 300 days in to using it.

### 5/5 — Great reminder- especially when things are so tough in lockdown

*2021-09-03, version 2.1.2*

I hadn’t Used this app for awhile, but have read the resilience project and subscribe to their emails. After struggling in lockdown, and with a recent disappointment on missing out on something I really wanted I was inspired to pick this up again. Practicing the GEM principal's makes a difference on my mental health significantly.
Thank you for this. Also I should add I heard Hugh on the 3pm pick up and he suggested an activity about acceptance. Write down all the things worrying you at the moment. The ones you can’t control you put a strike through. Don’t waste your time on these ones- they are out of your control & the sooner you can accept that the better.

### 5/5 — Great app for GEM I

*2021-07-15, version 2.1.2*

It’s perfect I love it

### 5/5 — Entirely beneficial.

*2021-03-13, version 2.1.2*

I have loved reflecting back on my day and scanning back through previous days/weeks etc to revisit my moments of gratitude.

I would love a function to download all of my ‘gratitude’ and ‘empathy’ entries to a PDF file to print out to have a hard copy of.

### 5/5 — Love it!

*2021-02-03, version 2.1.2*

Tried it when going through a tricky time and it was exactly what I needed!

### 5/5 — Great initiative easy to use

*2020-12-05, version 2.1.2*

I just purchased Hughs book and am 3/4 through reading it, I haven’t been able to put it down!!
(It is a must read for anyone)
 I heard about the app
And have been using it for 3 days. It so easy to use and so rewarding. Thanks team keep up the great work!!!

### 5/5 — Great app... but meditation :-/

*2019-12-09, version 2.0.5*

I love this app, am using it daily while I wait for my book to arrive in the mail. The meditation can be improved a tad boring. And also doesn’t work with headphones, have tried AirPods and plug in apple headphones... still only comes through the speaker. I have iPhone 11 that is up to date with software so believe it’s in the app and not the phone. Happily using CALM as my go to meditation app. Regardless would recommend this app in a heartbeat

### 5/5 — Great App!

*2019-06-04, version 2.0.5*

This is a rally great app I downloaded after listening to Hugh at a conference.

There are some features missing that would really improve the overall usage of the app.

1. Add Notifications.
I know this goes against mobile mental health. But it would be great to have this as a reminder to complete diary entries and to practice mindfulness daily.

2. Apple Health App integration
This would make life easier instead of having to manually enter mindfulness tracking in the app.

Other than the above 2 recommendations for app improvement. I highly encourage anyone who wants to improve their overall mental health to download this app and start using today.

### 5/5 — Brilliant, simple and effective

*2019-04-06, version 2.0.3*

Have always used this app, but the update in March 2019 has made it even better. An effective and enjoyable way to stay on track with daily mindfulness, gratitude and empathy! Also a brilliant tool to look back on the small things and appreciate them whenever you feel the need to
