There are a few things that need improvement like something’s there are bugs and I can’t even use it but besides that it works smoothly. ### 5/5 — Great app, but… *2024-02-12* Great app, however takes a long time to load grades and doesn’t work very well for parents with multiple children because you can only see one child’s grades. This is, however, because the app was designed for students, so it’s not normal to look at other people’s grades. Furthermore there are so many features that this app has compared to what the source has. Also the creators REALLY deserve donations because all monetizing features have been removed by SpS and the server costs are $100/month. I use it almost everyday, and if I could I would pay the 100 dollar server fee to keep it running for the developers. I like this more than the source website. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Grade Pro 👎👎👎 *2024-10-15* For all of you frustrated that The Source is now forcing you to use the Grade Pro app, there is actually a way to continue using this app without Grade Pro. Just go into airplane mode and tap on the app, you should be able to turn airplane mode off too after opening the app. After a while the Grade Pro screen will pop up again but just go into airplane mode again. If your grades aren’t updating because you are in airplane mode, just open the app without airplane mode & then close it & open it with airplane mode turned on again. ### 1/5 — Please bring the source back *2024-10-13* This was such a wonderful and great app to use I love it and it was so easy to use it was less stressful for me to use and it just felt nice it was way better then GradePro. GradePro is such a horrible app to use I don’t get it how you would switch such a wonderful app for such a horrible app to use I don’t understand how to use GradePro is so much harder for me to use then the source and GradePro is so complicated to use for no reason and it’s not as hopeful as the source ### 1/5 — Nothingburger *2024-10-12* Beyond the usual complaints about GradePro, which I do agree with, I'd like to make clear that there is no further use for this app. As of the latest update, it no longer lets you access any of the old functionality, and earlier updates seem to have been fundamentally broken. The app now serves no function whatsoever except to tell you to install something else, which is, at least, good advice. ### 1/5 — Please bring back the source *2024-10-10* I am beyond disappointed that SPS has gotten rid of the source app and decided to go to gradepro. Not only is gradepro horrendously ugly, it looks like a scam app with temu and all, and everything is stuck behind a paywall so I can’t even do the same things that I could on the source app. Please let students use this app again, I think the new one is widely hated and I’m uninstalling it because oh my god it is not worth it. ### 1/5 — I expected better from you. *2024-10-10* This app. Was GREAT. I lived by it. I used it 24/7. It became a crucial necessity. It’s clean flawless look made me feel less stressed than on the website. It was easy access, efficient, and best of all. Wasn’t trying to steal money from students. And look. I get it. You need money to run an app. But come on. COME. ON. I don’t know what you thought you were doing when you switched to GRADES pro. That app. Is from my nightmares. A monsters under my bed? No. Grade pro is. It is so dated and horrendous looking. It is just trying to get you to spend money to access “SPECIAL FEATURES” when really these so called special features are features any basic grade app should have. You shouldn’t have to PAY to see your weighted GPA. This app. Will not be used. It will not be used by me. Or by anyone I even KNOW. This was a bad idea on the apps part. Don’t do this to the students. I expected better from an app that I loved. Will be deleting forever. If it goes back to normal, I will be MORE than happy to give it a 5 star review. But with this update. That will never happen. Bad choice. ### 1/5 — Not up to date *2023-03-21* The app only shows 6 of my 7 classes and we are a few months into 2nd semester but it still hasn’t updated to show my semester 2 grades. However it is nice that it shows a different color for each assignment depending on what grade you got on it. Over all not a very helpful app. **Developer response:** It seems like your app isn’t updated, try closing and opening the app once or twice and make sure you have the latest version. We updated it for second semester a few weeks ago. Hopefully this will make it more useful for you! ### 2/5 — Tool only for students or I guess parents of only children? *2023-02-08, version 2.2.0* Looks like it could be really useful for SPS students, less so for parents. Can we get a parent version (is there a teacher version)? ### 3/5 — Works OK *2024-04-25* Always glitches and sometimes doesn’t update important things. It is a very important part of an app that is supposed to tell you your grades to actually tell you your grades. It take forever to load, even when I’m just at my house. ### 3/5 — Concerned about privacy *2023-11-18* This app is amazingly convenient, but I think that comes at the expense of users’ privacy. After reading the privacy policy, I am genuinely concerned about how information is stored on servers. I even read that information about location is collected! I am curious about how exactly sensitive information is stored “locally”, and what will happen if servers got hacked. What information would be leaked? Overall, I applaud the students who made this app—it’s a huge accomplishment for some high school students—but I am skeptical about the handling data security. **Developer response:** Hello, I understand your concern, hopefully I can clear up how we store data. We do not store any data on our servers. All grades, attendance, and other information is scraped directly to your device, and stored on your device in a serialized dictionary. Once you log out or delete the app, all of this data is removed. The section of the privacy policy that you are referring to discusses how our google mobile ads provider sometimes sends google your approximate location, to serve you more relevant ads. Since we don't implement ads anymore, this section isn't accurate anymore. We'll update it to make that more clear. Sorry about the confusion, if you have any more questions please get in contact with us at thesourcespsapp@gmail.com ### 3/5 — Good for the most part but seems to stop working when 2nd semester comes around *2023-02-16, version 2.2.1* The app is great but now it’s 2nd semester but I still only see assignments and grades for 1st semester. I know I have grades for 2nd semester as I went on the website, but this app is supposed to make going to the website mostly unnecessary, if it just makes it unnecessary for the 1st semester then requires you to go back to the website then it’s not doing it’s main job properly. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Extremely Fanum Tax *2024-09-26* The skibidi on the Kai Cenat meter on this app is so rizz. You can duke dennis your grades with the fanum tax. It has alpha male colors that make James Charles edge. It has young sheldon that makes Gay Wario jelque to Ice Spice. This is so sigma l wish Freakbob were here to accept my mouse pay ☹️ It's like, Just put the fries in the bag lil bro. You can now add as many classes as you have and there are many awesome tools I use everyday. The grade calculator and notifications for updated grades are super helpful!
