## What is THE tether?

THE tether is a wireless tethering, photo review, and session workflow app built for photographers who need fast and reliable image review on set.

Connect supported Nikon, Sony, and Canon cameras wirelessly and review captured images instantly on iPad, iPhone, or Mac. THE tether supports selected Nikon, Sony, and Canon cameras. Canon support requires Camera Control API, also known as CCAPI.

With THE tether 2.0, supported Nikon cameras can now be connected in multi-camera workflows, with support for up to four Nikon cameras at once. Images received from each camera are organized separately within the session, making multi-camera shoots easier to monitor and manage.

On supported Nikon cameras, you can use Live View, adjust key camera settings, and trigger the shutter directly from THE tether. Check composition in real time and review captured images without returning to the camera.

Receive JPG images wirelessly while shooting and review them instantly. Rate selected photos, match corresponding RAW files, download rated RAW files when supported, and export selected JPG and RAW files into organized session folders.

THE tether also supports Lightroom workflows. Ratings and metadata can be exported using XMP sidecar files, helping selected images retain their rating information when imported into Lightroom.

You can also import photos already stored on the camera. Camera Import supports JPG, RAW, and JPG+RAW workflows on supported cameras. JPG Camera Import is available for free, while RAW and JPG+RAW Camera Import require Pro.

THE tether supports Wi-Fi Router Mode and Direct Camera Wi-Fi where available, allowing you to choose the connection method that best fits your shooting environment. For the most stable workflow, a 5 GHz Wi-Fi router is recommended. A compact portable router can also be used outdoors and does not require an internet connection.
