## What is The Today List?

Planning feels productive. That is the problem.

Most task apps make you feel organized before they help you act. You build the system. You tag, file, prioritize, and review. For a few weeks it feels like it's finally working — then the list gets heavy again, and managing it becomes a second job.

Today List flips the script. There is no inbox to triage, no backlog to groom, no project hierarchy to maintain. Every task gets a day. Today's tasks are the only ones in your face. And when you're ready to work, the app hands you exactly one thing at a time.

CATCH EVERYTHING
Type it or say it. "Every Monday at 8, call Mom" becomes a repeating task with a reminder — dates, repeats, and alarms parsed straight out of your sentence. Getting a task out of your head takes three seconds, so nothing circles your brain at 11pm.

SURFACE TODAY
One screen shows today: your tasks, your habits with streaks, and anything that slipped. Overdue work stays visible until you deal with it — honestly, not swept into a pile. A Week view lets you drag tasks between days when plans change. That's the whole planning surface. There is nothing to maintain.

DO ONE THING
Execute mode is the part that isn't standard. It shows a single task — your current focus — and three buttons: Done, Bump, Reschedule. No list in your peripheral vision. When the context window shrinks to one thing, the mental energy it takes shrinks too. Work the queue until the board is clear.

WHAT USERS ARE SAYING
"A real game changer. So much mental free space it's unbelievable."
From people who used to spend Sundays building the perfect plan, just to watch it blow up by Tuesday.

PRIVATE BY ARCHITECTURE
Your data never leaves your phone. No account, no server, no analytics, no ads. There is nothing to sell but the app — which is why it's a simple subscription with a free trial, and why your tasks are always yours: even if you stop subscribing, you can still see and complete everything on your list.

Same person. Different system. Different result.

SUBSCRIPTION REQUIRED
Today List is free to download and includes a 7-day free trial. After the trial, a subscription is required: $3.99/month or $29.99/year. If you don't subscribe, you can still open the app and view or complete every task you've already created — creating new tasks, voice capture, the Week view, and reminders require an active subscription.

### 5/5 — A solid app

*2026-08-17*

The list works really well, it doesn’t make me view ads, and it doesn’t do anything weird with my data.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.1.7 — 2026-08-20

The paywall tells the truth about your Apple ID. It now asks the App Store what will actually happen before it says anything: if your free week is already spent it says so and shows the price it's about to charge, and if you're already subscribed it says that too instead of asking you to buy again. No one gets promised a trial they can't have.

Prices come from the App Store. You see the real price in your own currency rather than a hardcoded US one.

Subscription status you can trust. Settings reports your actual status, and stays quiet rather than guessing when the store can't be reached.

### 1.1.6 — 2026-08-17

Shared links stay live. Share a link from any app and it lands in the task's notes — tappable from the Execute screen instead of sitting there as dead text.

Shared photos come along. Send a screenshot or a picture to Today List and it attaches to the task: a thumbnail on your list, full width in Execute, full size with a tap.

### 1.1.5 — 2026-08-16

Share to Today List. Tap Share anywhere in iOS — a link, a file, a note — and Today List is right there. Pick a day and you're back to what you were doing.

Habits fold away. Tap the HABITS header to collapse the section and give the room to your tasks. It stays how you leave it.

Fixed: a cramped layout on smaller iPhones, and duplicate entries in the app icon's long-press menu. Both reported by a reader — thank you.

### 1.1.4 — 2026-08-09

Two small date fixes. If you left the app open past midnight, the habit backfill grid highlighted the wrong day, and search results could label a task "Tomorrow" when it meant today. Both read the real date now.

### 1.1.3 — 2026-07-30

Fixed a date bug in Reschedule. If you left the app open past midnight, the Tomorrow chip lit up next to Today and tapping it did nothing — the task stayed on today. Tomorrow means tomorrow again.
