Sadly the app is not. 🙁 *2019-05-06, version 5.3.4* The app has been cutting in and out every 5 seconds or 10 seconds making it difficult to hear the content consistently. When I text 646464, I get prompt responses about how the app is working from their end. Maybe I’m one of the few listening via the app. I’m in an area that doesn’t have a radio station in the area. Listening to a radio station online is hard to find a station one to do such. 🙁☹️ ### 4/5 — Love my Tom Joyner morning family! *2018-12-15, version 5.3.3* I love this app! For years Tom wasn’t on Chicago radio but thanks to the app I can listen on my phone. Now that they are back on a Chicago station I still listen on the app because reception is not that great where I work! ### 2/5 — Pretty Good- But Needs Work *2018-09-18, version 5.3.2* I have been using this app for almost three years and I have seen a lot of improvements since then. It basically works ok but it has its share of problems. For example, the app will shut down for no apparent reason. After you try to restart it, you have to listen to two commercials again (they used to only have one). And the volume on the commercials is way too loud. Also, when I want to stop the app, it develops a life of its own and restarts automatically. I may turn the app off 4 or 5 times before it finally registers. It's funny how the commercials never have a problem coming through but the actual program does. Lastly, it takes too long to start. From the time I launch the app until I am listening to the show, it could be 3 minutes. 9/18/18: I just updated the app and they took away the podcast feature. I used to rely on the podcasts for program segments that I miss when it’s broadcasted live. This app is losing all of its value. ### 2/5 — Disappointing *2018-04-17* Popular radio show with a not so good app. The constant crashes are irritating. I used to look forward to listening especially if I missed the daily live show but that abruptly ended. There is no repeat of the daily shows on the app. I’ve been listening to Tom Joyner since the mid 70’s. Keeping up with the technology appears to be a challenge. The rating is for the app only. If only TJMS would have remained live on radio in Chicago. I would not have to be bothered with such a crappy app. ### 2/5 — WestCoast is the Best Coast *2018-01-30, version 5.2.7* I’m from Cleveland and Miami. I used to listen to the TJMS regularly. Then they stopped replaying the broadcast after the live show once we moved out West. They’ve also lost Jay. My goodness. I like the fill in comedians but between Jay gone and no replay for the West the show has lost me unless I’m up early.... ### 2/5 — Too many Pop ups! I used to catch the "live" rebroadcast in the evenings then they stopped that. So then I listened to the "if you missed it" segments but it's not the same. Fix it please! ### 1/5 — Have Lost My Patience With This App *2017-01-04* Come on Reach Media! For months now this app has not worked. It takes a long time to connect to the live stream. Once connected, it frequently stops streaming and I hear nothing at all (usually in the middle of a topic that interests me). Your competitor's apps work just fine so I don't know why this one doesn't. It's time to overhaul the app, get rid of the superfluous content and graphics and improve whatever technology you need to have a stable product. I live in a radio market that has cut the live broadcast by one hour. Many listeners in my area rely on the stream to continue listening to the show. But no, no, no after 9:00 we can't stream the Tom Joyner Morning show. When I leave the house and turn on the app, I literally get two blocks before I hear radio silence. I’m thinking maybe it’s buffering so I’ll wait a couple minutes, and wait, and wait, and wait. Nothing. I turn off the app turn it back on and go through the same cycle over and over again. Please fix this problem immediately. ### 1/5 — No podcast of the show? However, it crashes every few minutes whether I'm using wifi or data, and even with a strong uninterrupted signal. Great show (if you can get it live locally or are able to get the app to work while it's on), horrible app. With the decision to stop rebroadcasting the show in 4-hour segments throughout the day, there's really no point to this app anymore, is there? It supposedly now only streams live in markets where there's no live broadcast, and then only between 6-10 am ET. Now who in their right mind on the West Coast is going to be getting up at 3 am PT every morning to listen to a radio show? Unbelievable. Accolades to Tom Joyner for providing financial assistance for students to attend historically black colleges & universities. Take your loved one to the doctor day, father's Day and Mother's Day celebrations weekly are deemed essential to their targeted audience as well.
