I have mine set to open with a quote each time, but if I want to bookmark that quote, I have to back out to the main level of the contents before a bookmark button appears. It would be much easier to also have the bookmarks button at the quote page as well, so that quote, or the paper where that quote is from to be bookmarked without having to leave the quote. Joining a study group gave me a deeper understanding as we all stretched our minds to take in such superior knowledge. I can’t imagine not having access to both the book and a study group of like minded individuals. It weaves together like a great symphony where every part is melodic and important. There is nothing else like it on earth. What a joy to read. It helps me to be able to go over a chapter each day in the Urantia Book, which helps me too come to understand God and his loving plan of progression for us. I am not a good reader, so I have a little secret to share and how I use this app. Go into settings, then accessibility, then Spoken content, then (Turn on) speak screen.This allows you to be able to swipe down with two fingers from the top of the screen and be able to listen to the entire chapter.The voice that I select is Siri voice 1, from the UK. This female voice is excellent for listening to books. I also recommend for new readers, to start by reading the life of Jesus in the third part. It is wonderful to be able to hear more of the life and teachings of Jesus Christ and to be able to grow in my understanding and love for God and his beloved son. The Urantia Book should not replace your Reading in the Scriptures. As a child I used to think that the Bible was difficult to read, but after reading in the Urantia Book, the Bible is actually not as difficult as I thought. The Urantia Book is not for everyone. You definitely need a good foundation and relationship with God first. Also have a good foundation in reading the New Testament. And be a church goer. Do not let the expansion and knowledge of the Urantia Book to hurt your Basic Christian understanding. Do not try to share these expanded ideas at church. I would not even recommend sharing this with your spouse or your kids until they have a good foundation. So far I have only shared it with one of my four adult kids and of course it has been wonderful to be able to share it with him. He has a good foundation in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, as do I. My husband & other adult kids are not yet ready to receive the Urantia revelation, and that’s okay. it is better for them to be active in church with a sturdy foundation, then to present them with some thing that they are not ready to receive. If you have a good Christian foundation and relationship with God, if you read the Scriptures daily, if you are an Active Christian church goer, and if you long to come to know more about our loving Heavenly Father and his son Jesus Christ, then the Urantia Book could be for you, but take it slow, and make sure that you make time to have quiet time with God every day. This does not imply complex intelligence and aptitude to understand and follow the truths that are presented so beautifully. There are simple as well as complex presentations on a vast scale to anyone employing a fiery curiosity as well as a modicum of dedication to understanding. I personally characterize the 4th chapter as “the thinking mans bible” as regards the deep spiritual content and emotional detail associated with Jesus life in the flesh. There are numerous portions throughout the book that are difficult if not impossible of comprehension but this is not a complaint, just a notation of our limitations of our understanding. There are numerous “gems of wisdom” that stopped me in my tracks as I read them. It became very evident throughout the volumes that “They” have a deep and vast understanding of human nature, our strengths as well as our many weaknesses. The amount of information presented is somewhat overwhelming but given the context of a presentation of cosmic and spiritual realities at a level that we can grasp and understand, this is again, just notation. Thus it is more distorted from the actual Word of the universe than any specific religion. This book has been proven to be a fraud by various literary analyses, showing how more recent science and archaeological finds have disproven many of this book’s erroneous statements. Its text uses a totalitarian approach to forward the message, with constantly emphasising, we humans cannot comprehend the bigger and "outer" things - "Thank you God, you made your point, now let me contemplate without your interference. You become more and more an annoyance.". The principle with new texts like this, including the book of Mormon, is, the authors are astute mind readers what humans want to hear, they cleverly translate their assumptions into make-believe fictional superimposed facets with the goal humans stand with awe in front of the newly self-created Devine human leader. Summoning up Urantia, it's another trick-pony made in Chicago, attempting to rewrite the Biblical history. Apart from reading the Bible, I also read the Quran, ancient Sanskrit writings and Sumerian translations. I encourage to make the book of Urantia a must read for the sol purpose of free education on any subject. We live in a supposedly free society, in which we can think what we want, and believe what we want. If people find unquestioned peace in the teachings of this book, then the book served its purpose to those. However, my research on the book is conclusive. It says Jesus didn't do miracles and was not born from a virgin. There are other examples. From a scientific point of view, it has some wacky theories, like the universe being trillions of years old, and electrons being made up of 100 smaller particles. None of it with a shred of support. It’s typeset just like the print edition with the same paragraphing and subtle features such as italics and capitalizations, which are critical to getting original meaning. I highly recommend paying the extra cost for the search engine, as you can handily search words and unique phrases. I’ve had this edition since it first appeared with the first iPhone over fifteen years ago and I use it daily. There are many, many other features such as multiple translations.
