And one needs to know one’s subscription number in order to login. What? And no way to reset password from an email address. Seriously needs to be more user friendly. ### 2/5 — Unnecessary interface update *2026-05-26, version 6.12* I’m really struggling to get to the full text of the print version. I believe they attempted to fix a problem that didn’t exist. I suggest they return to the old formate. Despite being a newshound I also always find a few stories that I haven’t heard of ### 2/5 — Digital Edition *2025-05-18, version 6.8* I find the digital edition very user unfriendly and am not sure if I am not using it correctly, or if it does not work as it should on my iPad, or if I have some settings that are not correct. I wish that the issues to be downloaded would show the date of the issue and also whether it has been read. Don’t believe me? Look no further than their selection of political cartoons. 7 years of virtually nothing but Trump satire. Boring… Oh, did I mention you can’t adjust font size in the app. You have to strain your eyes to be bored by their tedious rants. The information is great; it’s also well-written and brief. On the other hand, when I’m stuck for two or three weeks with the same issue of a magazine called “The Week”. . . The “restore” button does nothing. I try to sign in, but Apple doesn’t offer the customer number to do so. I’ve written to the CDSfulfillment folks, but they don’t deal with Apps from the Apple App Store. The Zinio app support people no longer work on The Week. I really don’t know what they expect people to do when there’s a problem. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — WTH happened? Hate the new interface! *2026-06-05, version 6.12* Used to love seeing the print version and the text only version, but now you have to jump through a couple more hoops to get to it. Why? This issue plus the fact that the magazine has shady renewal practices - charging $299 which supposedly includes free gift subscription to a friend when in fact, we are actually being charged for it. I fell for it the first time and paid that, only to realize I could get it for $99. I just got my “last chance” bill and will not be renewing. Have posted about this on all my socials and will do this final non-renewal in the coming days. The magazine is in a zoom in PDF format. Like from 2005. The Week has great content but awful App developers. It is almost a week now and the 26th should be arriving soon. Please go back to the other developers,Zinio. I am visually impaired, and I CANNOT see the pdf version of the magazine. On the old app I could choose a non pdf version, with a darker background and adjust text size to my liking. I don’t see how you can do that on your ‘new’ horrible app, AND on the new app the setting to increase text size DOES NOT WORK! Did anyone field test this new app before rolling it out??? Shame on you!!! Oh!! Now we have a dark mode back!! BUT IT DOES NOT WORK!!!!! Large sections of the magazine do not display in the Dark Mode!! Are you people kidding??? This is the most amateurish app ever rolled out by a major magazine. SHAME ON YOU!!!!!!!! I WILL BE CANCELLING!! 1/24/24- How the heck do you go back to where you left off while reading the digital version??? It is not clear and thus the app continues to be VERY ANNOYING! In the latest issue you go from Business/Making Money to The Last Word, and then back to Business. Articles are repeated one issue to the next. When you turn a page on the digital version it often takes you to the BOTTOM or MIDDLE of the next page, not the top. Are you people kidding???? I will not renew my subscription. 3/4/24- Continues to be awful. This weeks edition is incomplete. AND, when you try to continue reading a given issue, it does not take you to the page you last viewed and marked. I still will not renew my subscription. Update 5/29, 2024: I have cancelled my subscription. The app still is dysfunctional, as it will not take you back to the page that you left off of. Also, looking into the renewal offer, the price was over $130! Not doing that!! I signed up for Time Magazine at an annual subscription cost (digital) of $29.99!! Many times I’m unaware of the special TV shows or programs (which is published in the magazine) until they have already been broadcasted and I’m therefore unable to see the program. ### 5/5 — The Week *2026-02-02, version 6.12* I really enjoy being able to get the latest issue no matter where I am. I like the print version too but the App really helps in many ways when I don't want to carry the extra weight. I like the broad spectrum international focus and the brief, cogent summaries. It is like the biological abstracts that I used professionally. The ‘abstract” provides a brief update but also includes info I need to dig deeper on a topic if I would like to pursue it. ### 5/5 — Reader Friendly *2026-01-17, version 6.12* I thought I wanted a newsprint magazine but instead I am enjoying my online version just as much. The US at a glance, The World at a Glance, Good Week For/ Bad Week For, Making Money, health, science, technology, money matters, movies, art, theater,book reviews, gossip, car reviews, homes on the market, obituaries, it must be true I read it in tabloids,(very funny weird stuff) honestly so much more and always at the end, two pages of the magazine.. The Last Word! Without a doubt, the best of everything!
