### 4/5 — Web version needs help

*2026-08-06, version 6.13*

Love “The Week” but not at all happy with the online version, which is loaded with distracting ads to subscribe, even though I subscribe and am logged in. And one needs to know one’s subscription number in order to login. What? And no way to reset password from an email address. Seriously needs to be more user friendly.

### 2/5 — Unnecessary interface update

*2026-05-26, version 6.12*

I’m really struggling to get to the full text of the print version. It now defaults to audio and there is a lot of friction finding my way to print.

### 4/5 — I do not like the newest format of the magazine

*2026-05-18, version 6.12*

The newest released formate is not user friendly causing additional clicks. I believe they attempted to fix a problem that didn’t exist. I suggest they return to the old formate. The good news is the articles are still great.

### 5/5 — True Free Press

*2025-06-19, version 6.8*

The Week reports weekly the most important issues of our time and more importantly, it stands for the truth and democracy.
It is the one publication that we read from cover to cover each week and pass it on to other friends and family. PS the cartoons
Is the first page I read.

### 5/5 — Wide Ranging News Topics

*2025-06-13, version 6.8*

Love the Wide Breadth of News The Week Magazine covers!! Thank you.🙏

### 5/5 — News tightened up

*2025-05-20, version 6.8*

I love the editing of different new sources into a concise coverage of the story. Despite being a newshound I also always find a few stories that I haven’t heard of

### 2/5 — Digital Edition

*2025-05-18, version 6.8*

I find the digital edition very user unfriendly and am not sure if I am not using it correctly, or if it does not work as it should on my iPad, or if I have some settings that are not correct. I wish that the issues to be downloaded would show the date of the issue and also whether it has been read. When I make bookmarks, I am able to go back to the place I left off, but after a few pages, it no longer lets me advance to the rest of the issue.

### 5/5 — Thank you

*2025-05-04, version 6.7*

Thank you for the quality app!

### 5/5 — The Week rules!

*2025-04-03, version 6.7*

We look forward every week for the delivery of our issue (and are disappointed if it doesn’t arrive on Monday —the contest!)
They have devised a very clever formula for delivering the news, and offer POV from different sources. It’s like having several subscriptions.

### 5/5 — A Bit Of This

*2025-03-11, version 6.7*

A Bit of That.
No time to read more than bits.

### 5/5 — My Go To Source for Depth & Breadth

*2025-01-13, version 6.7*

This is the best news digest out there. The Week brings me up to date on all topics and lets me dive deeper into my interests. I like that they reference their sources so that I can dig further as well.

### 5/5 — The Week

*2024-12-27, version 6.7*

Great summary of national and international news

### 5/5 — Left-leaning news curation

*2024-10-09, version 6.7*

The Week has steadily drifted left over the years, probably driven by their Trump hatred. Don’t believe me? Look no further than their selection of political cartoons. 7 years of virtually nothing but Trump satire. Boring… Oh, did I mention you can’t adjust font size in the app. You have to strain your eyes to be bored by their tedious rants. Yeesh!

### 2/5 — Perhaps improved, perhaps not

*2024-09-16, version 6.7*

Less of a “latest news” summary than the old version, but remains interesting if less current. A bit more difficult to find what I need every morning.

### 5/5 — Still broken.

*2024-09-12, version 6.7*

Still no new issue of the magazine

### 2/5 — I can’t get it to reliably download

*2024-09-07*

I’ve been trying to work through this issue and I can’t even figure out whose job it is to fix it. The information is great; it’s also well-written and brief. On the other hand, when I’m stuck for two or three weeks with the same issue of a magazine called “The Week”. . . The “restore” button does nothing. I try to sign in, but Apple doesn’t offer the customer number to do so. I’ve written to the CDSfulfillment folks, but they don’t deal with Apps from the Apple App Store. The Zinio app support people no longer work on The Week. I really don’t know what they expect people to do when there’s a problem.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — WTH happened? Hate the new interface!

*2026-06-05, version 6.12*

Used to love seeing the print version and the text only version, but now you have to jump through a couple more hoops to get to it. Why? This issue plus the fact that the magazine has shady renewal practices - charging $299 which supposedly includes free gift subscription to a friend when in fact, we are actually being charged for it. I fell for it the first time and paid that, only to realize I could get it for $99. I just got my “last chance” bill and will not be renewing. Have posted about this on all my socials and will do this final non-renewal in the coming days. Look for it under #theweekmagazineshadyrenewal

### 1/5 — Thumbnail Blocks the Text

*2026-01-26, version 6.12*

Why would you block article text with a thumbnail of the entire page? This is uber idiocy.

### 1/5 — Don’t Be Fooled

*2025-04-10, version 6.7*

Don’t be fooled. The app layout the developer portrays on the layout screens is NOT what you get. The magazine is in a zoom in PDF format. Like from 2005. Long time subscriber who didn’t renew simply because the app is absolute garbage.

### 1/5 — The cancellation process is ridiculous

*2025-03-10, version 6.7*

I am in the process of trying to cancel my subscription and I have been told I have to deal with a third party purchaser. I never went through a third party to purchase the week. This is so beyond frustrating

### 1/5 — Terrible delivery

*2024-08-12, version 6.5.5*

i do not recirve magazines

### 1/5 — Where is my July 19th Digital Issue?

*2024-07-16, version 6.5.5*

I received the issue for one day and then it disappeared. The Week has great content but awful App developers. It is almost a week now and the 26th should be arriving soon. Please go back to the other developers,Zinio. The new offshore customer service is incompetent.

### 1/5 — New iPad app is _bad_

*2024-06-08, version 6.5.5*

No longer allows offline reading. Even if you download an issue, it requires an active internet connection to read it.

Also, app now no longer downloads latest issues. Most recent available is June 7.

### 1/5 — Too slow

*2024-06-02, version 6.5.5*

Does not work off line and too slow

### 1/5 — The Week’s new app is HORRIBLE

*2024-05-29, version 6.5.5*

Thank you for making The Week unreadable for me. I am visually impaired, and I CANNOT see the pdf version of the magazine. On the old app I could choose a non pdf version, with a darker background and adjust text size to my liking. I don’t see how you can do that on your ‘new’ horrible app, AND on the new app the setting to increase text size DOES NOT WORK! Did anyone field test this new app before rolling it out??? Shame on you!!! Oh!! Now we have a dark mode back!! BUT IT DOES NOT WORK!!!!! Large sections of the magazine do not display in the Dark Mode!! Are you people kidding??? This is the most amateurish app ever rolled out by a major magazine. SHAME ON YOU!!!!!!!! I WILL BE CANCELLING!! 1/24/24- How the heck do you go back to where you left off while reading the digital version??? It is not clear and thus the app continues to be VERY ANNOYING! In the latest issue you go from Business/Making Money to The Last Word, and then back to Business. Articles are repeated one issue to the next. When you turn a page on the digital version it often takes you to the BOTTOM or MIDDLE of the next page, not the top. Are you people kidding???? I will not renew my subscription. 3/4/24- Continues to be awful. This weeks edition is incomplete. AND, when you try to continue reading a given issue, it does not take you to the page you last viewed and marked. I still will not renew my subscription.

Update 5/29, 2024: I have cancelled my subscription. The app still is dysfunctional, as it will not take you back to the page that you left off of. Also, looking into the renewal offer, the price was over $130! Not doing that!! I signed up for Time Magazine at an annual subscription cost (digital) of $29.99!! Taking a break from The Week.

### 1/5 — Subscription

*2024-05-07, version 6.5.5*

Ok on iPhone. Cannot resolve issue of gray shading on iPad. Offshore call center worthless!.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Excellent coverage

*2026-06-26, version 6.13*

I’ve been a subscriber for many years and love the broad and condensed content of national and international news. Bonuses include columns on health, TV, books, art, film, and a delightful crossword puzzle. It’s the only magazine I will not drop.

### 5/5 — Far reaching

*2026-05-11, version 6.12*

The variety of articles and information remind me the world is a vast and complicated space to be explored and cherished

### 5/5 — Advantage of THE WEEK on line.

*2026-03-02, version 6.12*

I appreciate getting THE WEEK on line because of the late delivery of my copy through the USPS.
Many times I’m unaware of the special TV shows or programs (which is published in the magazine) until they have already been broadcasted and I’m therefore unable to see the program.

### 5/5 — The Week

*2026-02-02, version 6.12*

I really enjoy being able to get the latest issue no matter where I am. I like the print version too but the App really helps in many ways when I don't want to carry the extra weight. I like the broad spectrum international focus and the brief, cogent summaries. It is like the biological abstracts that I used professionally. The ‘abstract” provides a brief update but also includes info I need to dig deeper on a topic if I would like to pursue it.

### 5/5 — Reader Friendly

*2026-01-17, version 6.12*

I thought I wanted a newsprint magazine but instead I am enjoying my online version just as much. Great coverage of all current events and news. Some sad, sometimes funny and surprising but always truthful and interesting.

### 5/5 — All political stories

*2025-12-17, version 6.12*

Great to hear both sides sides of stories.

### 5/5 — Best Weekly News

*2025-11-25, version 6.12*

The Week is the best International news weekly. It has great snippets from inside the US as well as International news sources. It’s not cheap but it’s worth it to get the international sources needed to stay current.

### 5/5 — Without a doubt!

*2025-11-08, version 6.12*

I read the Week Magazine (which I hold in one hand and my coffee in the other) EVERY SINGLE MORNING!
It’s short, concise fact check information from the week in retrospect, gives me just enough info to be up to date on the current events not just in the USA but Globally! The US at a glance, The World at a Glance, Good Week For/ Bad Week For, Making Money,
health, science, technology, money matters, movies, art, theater, book reviews, gossip, car reviews, homes on the market, obituaries, it must be true I read it in tabloids,(very funny weird stuff) honestly so much more and always at the end, two pages of the magazine.. The Last Word!
Without a doubt, the best of everything!
Couldn’t start my day without it 🙏🏻

### 5/5 — My go to news source

*2025-10-21, version 6.12*

Pretty fed up with network news drama and anchors. The week gives me everything I need and more

### 5/5 — Favorite magazine

*2025-07-19, version 6.8*

I’ve been subscribing to The Week for years and I find it a wonderful resource for staying in touch with news not only locally but around the world. I recommend this news aggregator to everyone.
