### 3/5 — Could be better

*2014-11-22*

Mostly demo vids and repeats from what you can find on you tube. Good informative instructionals on throws and positions-- if you are in an academy and receiving daily instruction- skip this and get the Blue Belt app which is worth it. They should combine the info here with that one.

**Developer response:** Thank you for letting us, this app is for the beginners. The apps designed and arranged in a way to depict a journey from basic to advance Jiu Jitsu. Your suggestion is valuable to us and we are glad you like the Blue Belt app.

### 3/5 — Ok

*2012-04-03*

This app is normally $25. I got it just because it was free. It is pretty cool, but not worth more than free. It has like 2 hours of video... Would nvr buy this for $25!

**Developer response:** We explore continuously to improve our apps, so your feedback is important to us. Thank you for sharing an honest review.

Optional?

### 5/5 — Extremely beneficial for experts & beginners alike.

*2012-04-02*

A real good insight into how these arts cross over & are related. Great explanations & demonstrations.

### 5/5 — Great Learning Experience

*2012-04-02*

Have had the app for a couple of hours and have really enjoyed learning from Roy so far.

I've always been interested in learning some kind of martial arts and I think this app will get me on my way.

The airplay feature is very useful and I hope the app will be updated with even more tutorials in the future. Overall a really positive experience and a must have app!

### 4/5 — Almost perfect!

*2011-09-19*

Instruction and audio/video quality is great. The only thing missing is an index to quickly go to a submission.

**Developer response:** That's great that you liked it, our team will be working on it.

### 4/5 — Roy does it again !

*2011-08-01*

Very informative.....and loaded with well explained and demonstrated techniques ! The ability to watch, pause, play, and replay the videos helps tremendously.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Don't waste your money

*2013-03-14*

The meat of this "app" is one 70 minute video showing a hodgepodge of techniques. It isn't very deep, it doesn't really tie anything together, and it's not at all what I was hoping for. If you can pick it up for free, fine, but don't waste your money on this crap.

**Developer response:** The app is for the basic introduction to jiu jistu, we have other apps for the advanced levels. We'd love for you to try those. Thanks for your response.

### 1/5 — White belt

*2012-04-10*

Its a good job i got this free, its Worth about 99p

### 1/5 — Not worth it

*2012-04-07*

I got this because it was free for a day and had wondered about it before, but would not pay $25 for an app. I'm seriously glad I didn't get it at the normal price as I'm not sure it was worth the time to download it let alone actually paying for it. Don't waste your time with it.

**Developer response:** We feel sorry that the app didn't meet your expectations. May be you were looking for the advanced level trainings, try our Blue Belts Requirements 2.0 as White Belt Bible is for the beginners and has basic instructions.

### 1/5 — Nothing special

*2012-04-04, version 1.6*

Just a collection of videos, doesn't even save your position in the videos.

### 1/5 — Requires Ample Space

*2012-04-04*

Over 3GB freed up, 4 GB free yet it says it's not able to Download...

Pathetic!

### 1/5 — No audio!?

*2012-04-03, version 1.6*

No audio for the iPhone app...booooo

### 1/5 — Not even worth being free

*2012-04-03*

Huge file. Almost 2 gbs. And it's not even worth being free. Don't waste your time.

**Developer response:** Sorry for the inconvenience, we'll try to concise our videos in future.

### 1/5 — 4gb free

*2012-04-02*

Got 4gb space free and still not enough apparently for this 1.8gb app

### 1/5 — Too big

*2012-04-02*

I have deleted over 40 apps to get space to download this, and it still won't work

### 3/5 — Update

*2021-05-04*

Will there be an update anytime soon?

**Developer response:** Hi, yes we constantly working on improving our content and updating our apps to make the user experience worthwhile.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Very good app

*2012-11-09*

This is a very good app, worth its cost.

Roy Dean is a very good teacher, and has a very rechnical and smooth BJJ.

I learned a lot with him, and I'm going to buy his other apps.

### 5/5 — Excellent!!

*2012-05-20*

Such great tutorials they really helped me

### 5/5 — Great App

*2012-05-02*

Really helpful demos.
Loved the Judo bit.
I've referenced it a lot, from tying my white belt to takedowns.
It's nice to see blue/purple demos too.

### 5/5 — Review by a martial-artist

*2012-04-10*

This is a great tool as an introduction and a review tool. I will be reviewing this over and over again.
My only criticism is that I wish they had a more in-depth menu. If it is was possible to jump straight to a particular technique that would be fantastic.

EXCELENT work I’ll be looking for follow-ups to this download.

**Developer response:** Thank you for your kind words, your suggestion/productive criticism is noted. We hope you will enjoy our other apps as well.

### 5/5 — Great App

*2012-04-09*

One if the most informative/detailed martial arts apps out there. Great demonstrations and shows the similarities in the featured disciplines. Took a long time to down load, in the end I did it through the night.

### 5/5 — Really good

*2012-04-04*

I do not understand how can someone complain about this app, you either know nothing about martial arts or you are an idiot.
It's very good and for free it's great.

**Developer response:** Thank you we really appreciate your thoughts.

### 5/5 — Awesomeness personified

*2012-04-04*

Awesomeness personified = Roy Dean teaching, great job. Well worth the twenty-five.

**Developer response:** Thank you. Glad to know our efforts are appreciated.

### 5/5 — A great introduction to Jiu Jitsu

*2012-04-03*

The person giving it a one star rating probably isn't a martial artist. If you have even a passing interest Jiu Jitsu, Judo, or Aikido, you'll find plenty to enjoy. There are 15 chapters worth of great content. Highly recommended.

**Developer response:** Thank you for your recommendation and the star-studded review. Truly humbled.

### 5/5 — The ultimate martial app

*2012-04-03*

It's just great.

**Developer response:** Thanks Andrayx.

### 5/5 — must have

*2012-04-03*

you will not be disappointed!

**Developer response:** Thank you Niinjjette, thanks for your response.
