I paid $9.99 for it. Now with this newest update, it asks me to pay $9.99 again to use. I will just purchase different cards, not from Oceanhouse Media. This needs fixed...or bad business? ### 1/5 — I've had this app for years and now they want me to pay for it again! *2015-01-26, version 2.3* I loved this oracle card app, but after owning it for several years, they did an update that makes you have to pay to own it again after the "7 day trial". Now I can't use it anymore until I pay for it again. I just downloaded the app on my new iPhone with the same iTunes account and I am getting the "trial ends in... Days" message. On top of that, I am having problems when I pick a card, it's not showing that I picked any cards, making the whole app useless. I've restarted the app and my phone several times to no avail. Super bummed. ### 2/5 — Great Cards, Cheesy Tactics *2010-03-15* Update: An update to make it easier to sell more of your apps? The cheese factor increases! I wonder how many of these 5 star reviews are the same person. I have used the printed cards quite a lot and like them. I was happy to find that the cards are available as an App and even have new images for the minor cards now. The interface is generally good and intuitive. What surprised me though is the cheese factor. How much advertising do you really have to do and is it fair to give only a chopped down summary in an email? Example: I sent the reading from one card to myself to see what would appear in my email. I was hoping for an image of the card and the full text that goes with it. Instead, what I got is 6 attached images totaling 185kb and none of them were about the card in question. All images are to promote the cards, Oceanhouse Media, Hay House, and even other cards sets. The actual reading is close to worthless compared to the real interpretation of the cards. The reading in the email was two short sentences. Come on people, this app costs 7 dollars! Well worth it for the cards but at that price don't you think we deserve a little respect too? I will be using the cards but as it is from what I described above, the email function is useless and will not be used again. Maybe this was the intention all along? ### 3/5 — It’s great but it’s very broken *2024-01-19* The app itself is poorly designed. Across three phones now, years, they’ve yet to fix the way you get trapped in a card view with no way to exit because the back button just never appears. You lose your whole reading by force quitting to get out of it. I hope that’s fixed someday, even if at this point there’s little hope of that, because in every other way it’s a fantastic oracle. I’m really writing this begging for this to be fixed because I want this app to be as good as it used to be. Limited usefulness. *2010-05-18, version 0* This deck, just like many new age decks, seeks to take the work out of tarot by giving quick and simple answers to a question. Nothing wrong with that, a lot of people make huge $$ out of just this. But I am always easily bored by such decks and dislike the lack of insight they provide. The app itself runs smooth and if you are not really into oracle decks too much it's nice little toy for the odd bit of entertainment. I like the shuffle function which is just a scrolling line of cards that you can flick either side. It's a really nice feature. The app runs flawlessly and it's very easy to navigate. I'm not a huge fan of the artwork, many of the cards being uninspired watercolour paintings of landscapes. They really should give you more screenshots because the ones pictured aren't representative of the deck as a whole. It's not a particularly beautiful deck. In fact boring comes to mind. I'm frustrated by the available layouts, just 4 and none of them particularly insightful. Likewise the card meanings are purposefully vague. Because it doesn't have a strong tarot base you can't even usefully intuit a more complex meaning. Although the ability to flip the card over to read the meaning is a nice feature. Overall if you are into quick and easy oracle decks well here's another one to choose from. The app it's housed in is slick and works well. But really for $9, it doesn't provide any greater functionality than most Lite or Free decks do. Very disappointing. I think if you are paying full price for an app you really should have the ability to create your own layouts. The graphic design is nice but you'd have to be a fan of this artists artwork to think this deck of beautiful. As usual with New Age gear, it's cloaked up in celtic mythology and folk lore to make it more appealing. But there's nothing especially wise or ancient about the contents of the deck itself. In fact it's fairly pedestrian in it's representation of the complex human condition. If deep thought, analysis and intuiting are your thing then I would recommend a traditional tarot deck instead, or at least a deck based on tarot. The tarot is a classic for a reason. It not only represents much of the human condition but it does so on a minor and major scale as represented by the arcana's. This does give you a lot more insight than oracle decks.
