### 4/5 — but where are the interiors?

*2026-03-05, version 34*

As long as I’ve read it, WOI has been a reliable source for a lens into unexpected interiors, the stuff you won’t see in an Architectural Digest. It was the high bar for the category, operating 100% in its own sphere. Unfortunately it feels lately a if they’ve run out of the supply of interesting spaces. Things feel so much more traditional and basic. Tuned to popular tastes. So many ads. It’s just lost the elegance and refinement. The last couple issues have felt so bland. It feels like they’ve swapped Derek Jarman for Commune Design. Very sad.

### 4/5 — Great magazine - terrible tech. Can’t open on iPad

*2023-10-01, version 33.2*

Great magazine but no longer works on apple devices after latest os. Very disappointing. I hope they upgrade their systems.

1 star for technology

### 3/5 — Great Magazine - Shame about the Back Catalogue

*2023-03-15, version 33.2*

WOI is a great magazine and beautiful to read in digital form. Only complaint is that, as with subscriptions for all Conde Nast digital editions, you don’t get the library of back issues included, or at least an opportunity to buy the whole back catalogue for one purchase price, as you do with Hearst / Natmag publications like Homes and Gardens and Bazaar etc. Having to shell out the best part of £5.00 for each back issue of WOI which you want to read is a bit unfair considering the amount to subscribe.

### 1/5 — Mega frustration

*2023-01-10*

- Unable to download February 2023 issue. Renewal expired apparently on 2 January 2023 but no notification sent to me.
- Go to online purchases in Settings. Payment was declined despite card details correct and up to date.
- Try to restore purchase endlessly. Comes up restore successful but impossible to download said issue.
- After several days of going through motions impossible to restore or download current issue.
- I give up…

### 1/5 — Simply doesn't work on my iPhone

*2023-01-01, version 33.2*

As a print subscriber I download this app to take advantage of the digital editions I am entitled to.

It doesn't work and it is impossible to download any content after logging in.

This app clearly runs on exactly the same platform as the House and Garden app from Condé Nast which works perfectly well on my phone. The World of Interiors app sadly does not and it is impossible to download digital editions.

Condé Nast is a top flight publisher with a well earned reputation for high quality print magazines. They should be publishing their digital content through apps that reflect those high standards established in the print edition. This app totally fails to achieve that and I'm pretty shocked that Condé Nast put such scant effort into usability testing.

Reputation damaging rubbish.

### 1/5 — The world of interiors

*2022-10-12*

Je n’arrive pas à télécharger les numéros que j’ai achetés

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2022-02-17, version 33.2*

If you are a print subscriber, don’t expect to be able to access anything. Log in credentials are not recognized or do not sync to the print subscriber site. World of Interiors help support is responsive to emails but has no solutions (I am on round 3 and have received only basic canned answers and no progress). Password reset links fail. Currently the account subscriber web site also appears to be down. Massive waste of energy. Don’t expect to access the digital content while waiting the 3 months required for delivery of your first print issue.

### 1/5 — Unstable

*2021-10-03, version 33.2*

Possibly the most unstable app I have ever used. Crashes and quits constantly. Impossible to use.

### 2/5 — App doesn’t work

*2021-06-24, version 33.2*

Unfortunately, a yearly digital subscription does not work. Issues cannot be downloaded because there is no log in for Apple in-app purchases. You can “restore” your subscription as many times as you want (the only support provided for downloading issues) but it doesn’t work. Neither Condé Nast nor Apple were able to help. The app is significantly flawed and there seems no way to “fix” it. If you get a yearly subscription, you will have to request a refund because you will not be able to download any of the issues.

### 1/5 — Very difficult to use app

*2021-04-07, version 33.2*

Just a digital copy of the magazine so it's very difficult to use. All the articles should be easily availible online. Backissues don't seem to be available for free although they are supposed to be included with subscriptions, FAQs say log in and out again but it doesn't work. Poor product.

### 1/5 — GLITCH MANIA

*2021-01-23, version 33.2*

Just subscribed and unable to move beyond page 1. The app closes with each swipe!

### 1/5 — WOI App

*2019-12-30, version 33.2*

I love the WOI magazine and bought it for a friend as an annual subscription. She is not tech minded so I downloaded the app myself. I’m shocked at how poor it is! It only uses 2/3 of my phone screen so is tiny and hard to read. There is no facility to view in read mode like other magazines, impossible to enjoy on this app. World of Interiors you need to bring this into the 21st century!

### 3/5 — Wonderful magazine, flawed app, poor formatting

*2019-08-02, version 33.2*

Update. Finally resolved monthly challenge of downloading paid subscription. This beautiful magazine is not properly formatted for iPad full page spreads, and you can never see the full layout. Also, how about an alert to your subscribers when the new monthly issue is available?

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Unable to Access Digital Subscription

*2026-07-12, version 34*

Unable to access my digital subscription I paid for along with the print subscription. Customer service just sends the same directions which do not work. Despite having paid, my account just says “no active subscription.” Beyond frustrating that I can’t access what I paid for. Now have to ask for a refund. Disappointed with their horrible tech.

### 1/5 — Cannot View Magazine

*2026-07-10, version 34*

Alright. Why the app if nothing is available to view in app? No subscriptions available, restore purchases says “dismiss”. Nothing.
Difficult to even post review…

### 1/5 — Useless don’t bother

*2026-01-29, version 34*

Stick with the hard copy this app is a joke. I bought a subscription and have spent the last 2 months trying to activate my account with only bot replies. Infuriating

### 1/5 — Bait and Switch

*2025-12-17, version 33.7*

This app simply does not work, and Condé Nast does not care. It’s infuriating to pay for a digital and print subscription and then be unable to access only half of that.

### 1/5 — Undisclosed pricing

*2025-08-24, version 33.6*

When the app is “free” yet the content has any cost, you MUST disclose that cost, otherwise it is very close to “bait and switch” which used to be illegal and is at least unethical. Had you disclosed the price up front, I would have subscribed, but trust is key in journalism, and hiding your actual cost is unethical. My feeling is your business practice will affect your content as well.

### 1/5 — They should rename the app ‘World of frustration’

*2025-04-27, version 33.6*

Similar to the other review, I decided to subscribe to (stupidly thinking this was a good idea), the instructions are not obvious as to the location of the settings where you need to enter the subscription details.

### 1/5 — Login issues

*2024-09-30, version 33.5*

Incredibly frustrating experience trying to log into the app, having already signed into the on webpage. I keep getting prompted to provide username and password anytime I try to open an issue

### 1/5 — No access to digital content

*2024-02-23*

Despite multiple attempts reaching out to customer service I continue to have no access to the promised digital content. It is extremely frustrating to say the list and all the time trying to get someone to fix the issue and no solution is offered. Why? I do not get it

### 1/5 — App doesn’t work!

*2024-01-28, version 33.4*

App doesn’t work and doesn’t renew my purchases from the pass. It also doesn’t renew my subscription after making a new password so I’m stuck with nothing. So frustrating and disappointing!

### 1/5 — App Crashing in iPad OS 17

*2023-09-19, version 33.2*

Just updated to iPad OS 17 this morning. WOI app now crashes without opening despite restarts, app restart and reinstall.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — World of Interiors

*2023-02-02, version 33.2*

Still the most inspirational and educational publication in the world. Loving Hampshire Bowles as Editor.

### 5/5 — LOVE this publication

*2021-12-09, version 33.2*

Please hire me lol im a designer!

### 5/5 — Wonderful discovery

*2021-01-25, version 33.2*

I’m new to this website and was not expecting to be so enthralled and inspired by the “ALL” of it!

From the quality of the photographs, the subject and category content, the accompanying written word and the sheer beauty, I found myself slowly leafing through the pages - pick any issue! - and being charmed and rejuvenated all at once. Again, the ALL of it.

I’m also impressed with the ease of how the site is designed and is so easy to navigate going forwards or backwards. The flow is as effortless as the page contents themselves.

I’m helplessly addicted - in a good way.

### 5/5 — An Excellent Read

*2020-12-03, version 33.2*

Of all the design publications available, both professional and for a residential reader. This is my favorite. Excellent articles on architectural history, art history, current publications on the art/design world. This is in addition to articles on interior design and the history of interior design. They are in compassing in their breadth from “homes” from the 1400’s to today.

### 5/5 — The World of Interiors

*2020-05-22*

What is there to write; I wait for the new issue to appear at the Newsstand. The historical information is thrilling and very inspirational. I confess I read every page or study the imagery, sink into the colors and dream and learn from cover to cover.
Im new to the magazine and I can‘t Imagine how I ever missed it before; that’s over with now. The pile grows and the issues have their space in my work space. Thank you for every issue-you do a marvelous job of description and historical curiosity.

### 5/5 — Food for the soul

*2019-12-28, version 33.2*

WOI is a delight and a true testament of people with more than style and savoir faire

### 5/5 — World of Interiors is unparalleled.

*2019-05-02, version 33.2*

You really must subscribe. It is far and away the best. There is only one problem, as nearly as I can tell, once you hold it in your hands you cannot throw it away...Ever. Each issue is a masterpiece. Thank goodness one can subscribe online and keep all those issues dust free in cyberspace.

### 5/5 — The best.

*2019-04-14, version 33.2*

WOI is the gold standard.

### 5/5 — Great content but.....

*2018-11-08, version 33.1*

App and online editions are very clunky and really not up to the standard of other magazines. Wish I’d stuck with the hard copies.

### 5/5 — So lovely and almost free

*2018-09-30, version 33.1*

World of interiors strokes my soul like no other periodical. I wish the free issues would change month to month. But perhaps I should pay for my favorite thing...
