Honestly, I relate to this story so much—the parents’ childhood and all kinds of trauma hit hard. Reliving those memories feels super relatable. It’s not just an awesome story; it’s also really fun to play. Und das ist, was das hier zu etwas ganz Besonderen macht. Auf so vielen verschiedenen Ebenen. Solange es sowas gibt, solange wir sowas erschaffen, uns sowas erzählen und erfahren, ist noch nicht alles verloren für uns Menschen. So krass und gut und besonders und wichtig ist das Spiel. It’s brilliant that like actual humans we can think and replay past events to extract new insights from them. It feels like getting into the mind of the character in an intimate and human way. It also makes me want to revisit such memories of my own life. Reminds me as well of the technique of psychodrama, where pivotal moments are acted out to gain new perspectives. Well done!! There does not appear to be ANY way to exit without rebooting your phone. Further, it’s not obvious at all how to start the game from the initial screen. I did finally figure out (tap on the ink pen), BUT there still is absolutely NO WAY to exit the game without rebooting your phone! The style of game took a bit of getting used to in terms of how to progress the story ( sometimes needing to go backwards) , but once I got the hang of it I was hooked. One can look at the game in so many different ways, the depth of relationships, the reasons why we behave how we do, and the way loss impacts each of us. The ending was beautiful and it again made you question how you wanted the story to play out.
