## What is The Yoga Sutras?

The Yoga Sutras by Patanjali is an incredible resource for anyone interested in Yoga. This app is a swiss army knife study guide complete with a searchable sanskrit dictionary, and audio chanting of every verse. 

  Unlike the book form, you can now easily scan through its contents by topic, etymology, translation, and commentary. You can listen to each verse, and memorize them with ease. 

  This project took a year and a half researching and translating this ancient text and compiling it into an pocket sized tool. Reading from  Edwin Bryant, B. K. S. Iyenger, Swami Satchidinanda, the author's aspiration was to write a sober commentary. A commentary that offers a logical approach to some of the more phenomenal things discussed such as levitation, immortality, and enlightenment.

I had the privilege of taking some yoga classes with Trip Shanti. His passion for his practice and study of the Sutras has made a lasting impression on me. This app is clearly a labor of love.

I have been using this app for years. It has a straightforward accessible interface that makes referencing and memorisation easy. On most occasions I use wisdom lib and external sources for deeper understanding of Sanskrit terms, but take that as part of study. 

No bugs, no bells and whistles just ancient wisdom at your finger tips.

I’m enjoying the app. Today I noticed in pada 3 the sutras don’t match another book I’m reading. I see that 3.22 was skipped on the app and therefore all the rest of the pada sutra numbers are off. I hope you can correct. Thank you for this app. 🙏

Great content! My only remark is that the Sankrit is spoken too fast. Not conducive to helping students learn the sutras in Sanskrit.

3.22 is missing so all sutras are displaced after that. :( For example sutra with the word Elephant should be 3.25 and not 3.24.
