Muslim Association. ABOUT US : The B.C. Muslim Association (BCMA) is a non-profit organization incorporated under the Societies Act on November 17, 1966 corresponding to 4 Sha-ban 1386. The BCMA is currently the largest Sunni Muslim organization in the province representing Sunni Muslims. The BCMA own and operate several Islamic centres all across British Columbia, The BCMA operates the B.C. Muslim School (BCMS) Richmond and Surrey Muslim School encompassing a preschool as well as an elementary and secondary school. Efforts are being made for acquirng a high school. Other community services include Hajj, dawah work, dealing with media and issues affecting Muslims, marriage and counselling services, youth services and halal certification program. Halal Inspection and Certification (HIC- Canada) was established by The BC Muslim Association to help ensure that all Muslims could be confident that the meat and products they consume are ‘genuinely Halal’. Why is it 8 years behind? ### 4/5 — It’s ok, but no advantage over the mobile sites *2020-09-30, version 1.1.8* Tested for Burnaby: Apple map directions don’t work, it opens the map but shows no pin or directions. Misspelled “Burnaby” under Imam Momla Second Jumaa (October 2) shows “null” Have Friday prayer listed twice in the business directory on each card. Some businesses have 2 phone icons with no differentiation as to the difference between them. Halal food section should either have more features to compete with other halal apps (date of last certification, submit a business, apply for halal certification, etc.) or be removed. All images should be sized appropriately for their containers, not squished or stretched. Otherwise, it’s a decent start for a BCMA app, but it doesn’t seem to offer any advantages over a mobile website. You could integrate notifications for Salat and Ramadan, as well as an up-to-date Hijra calendar, maybe even link the Jumaa livestream in there. ### 1/5 — Not useful *2020-09-25, version 1.1.8* Unfortunately, if you don’t have right content, even the best app becomes useless. It doesnt even have a section for Vancouver jamia. No alerts, no news, no juma prayer protocol and timing updates.
