## What is thecooldown?

thecooldown is the ultimate platform for gamers who want to track, review, and share their gaming journey.

Log every game you play. Rate them, track your hours, and build your gaming profile. Playing it, completed it, 100%'d it, dropped it, or sitting in your backlog — keep track of it all. Link your Steam, Xbox, and PlayStation accounts to import your library and hours automatically, and pick up right where you left off with Continue Playing.

Write reviews and share your honest opinions with the community. See what others think and discover your next favourite game.

Create tier lists and rank your favourite games, characters, and franchises. Share them with friends and settle the debate once and for all.

Vote in weekly Versus matchups — who wins in a fight? Master Chief or Captain Titus? Joel Miller or Arthur Morgan? Cast your vote and see how the community decides.

Play Guess the Game daily and build your streak. Genre, release year, platform, developer — use the clues to figure out the mystery game before your guesses run out.

Share your best moments. Upload screenshots to any game's page — the best ones get featured for the whole community to see.

Every Sunday, get your Weekly Review — a personal recap of everything you played, reviewed, and ranked, complete with your streaks, stats, and Versus picks, ready to share.

Earn badges as you go, from writing your first review to logging thousands of hours, and show them off on your profile.

Join community discussions, follow other gamers, and keep up with what your friends are playing through the feed.

Your gaming identity, all in one place.

### 5/5 — Letterboxd for gamers

*2026-04-22*

This app brings a fresh take on the review and reference novelty of letterboxd or untappd and brings it to the gaming industry. A social platform with an engaging experience and a great developer working hard to make this app BY gamers FOR gamers and I have no doubt it’ll be the next “big thing”. Ultimately it allows the user to keep a fresh take on their catalogue and keep up to date with games they may enjoy, what real gamers and players say about that game, and trust that if they invest their time and money it’s going to be worth it.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.3.11 — 2026-09-13

Logging a game is rebuilt around the game itself — its banner art up top,
your score as the main event, and a Log button that takes on the colour
you're about to give it.

• Say what you played it on. Pick a platform when you log, and it shows
on your profile posters. Sync a library and it fills itself in.
• Add a second review instead of overwriting the first. Changed your mind
after a few patches? Both opinions stay, each with its date.
• Search actually finds the game you meant. Searching "war" no longer
hands you Eastward and Dwarf Fortress.
• Spoiler warnings are a creeper, and a review marked as a spoiler is
now hidden on the website too — it wasn't before.
• Google Stadia removed from the 161 games still listing it.

### 1.3.8 — 2026-09-02

See what your friends are playing — live.

• Playing Now — a new dashboard strip shows the people you follow who
are in a game right now, with the game, the console they're on, and how
  long they've been playing.

• Live status on profiles — every profile now shows whether someone is
Online or Playing, right under their name.

• Works across Steam, Xbox, and PlayStation — link your account and your
  activity shows up automatically.

• New privacy control — a "Show what I'm playing" toggle in Edit Profile,
so you're always in charge of what's shared.

"We've added a clear NSPhotoLibraryUsageDescription explaining that photo access is used for profile pictures, banners, images in posts, and game screenshots, and updated the App Privacy 'Photos or Videos' declaration to App Functionality (linked to identity, not used for tracking)."

• Plus fixes and polish.

### 1.3.7 — 2026-08-31

Daily game rolls over at each user's local midnight (not UTC)

Moderator push to you when anyone submits a screenshot for review

Carries the 1.3.6 safe-area fix and everything prior

### 1.3.6 — 2026-08-29

Your Week in Review is here.

• Weekly Review — every Sunday, get a personal recap of your week: the
games you played, reviews and tier lists you made, badges you earned,
your daily-game streak, and your Versus pick. Share it as a card.

• Player Screenshots — upload your best shots straight from a game's
page. Approved screenshots get featured on the game page, credited
  to you.

• New badges for getting your screenshots featured: Shutterbug,
  Photographer, Photo Mode, and Gallery.

• Game pages — tap any cover or screenshot to view it full-screen, and
enjoy a proper celebration every time you log a game.

• Xbox and PlayStation playtime now syncs where it's available.

• Plus polish and fixes throughout.

### 1.3.3 — 2026-08-28

What's New in 1.3.3

Notifications that actually work for you
• Get a heads-up when your daily streak is about to break, when a new versus matchup goes live, and when the winner is revealed on Sunday.
• New notification settings — turn each type on or off, your call.

More badges to chase
• 17 new badges across reviews, hours played, perfect scores, tier lists, mutual follows and more. Check the Badges page to see what you're closest to.

Profiles and reviews
• Profiles now show your total review upvotes.
• Browsing reviews is smoother — it loads more as you scroll instead of resetting.

Plus versus polish and fixes throughout.
