This product is great for any outdoor enthusiast, traveler, or weekend warrior. Don’t hesitate to get the bundle!

**Developer response:** You can go to the App Store app on the Watch and look in Account > Purchases to install any of your previous app purchases.  This will be required for any independent Watch apps, which are not automatically managed through the Watch settings on your iPhone.

I just purchased the app but I can’t get it to download. Can’t find any assistance anywhere. Anyone have an idea.  I’ve restarted several times.

**Developer response:** Go on your Watch, open the Watch’s App Store app, scroll down and tap “Account”, then tap “Purchases”, then install the app on the Watch from there.

Great app that’s expands on apples way back app, however it’s missing any complications at all, that would allow the sun position or primary points to be viewed at a glance

This new version is a good start. A little more work in waypoint management by allowing the creation and grouping of many waypoints. The apps should then allow for the selection of up to 5 waypoints to display on the map. The app needs Watch complication ability and more support by the developer.

Don’t give the negative reviews too much credit. Just make sure you have a series 5 watch and open the app from the App Store on your watch. That’s all there is to it. Interface is super smooth and looks great. $2 is a steal for this type of app.

Looks great! Love the theme switch light or dark.
Very clear and easy to read .
I’m out and about a lot photographing fungi in deep forest so I need a compass that is easy to use and is accurate.
Sun and Moon position is an excellent addition.

I’ve used the compass app on iphone for several years.   I was excited to use the compass on my series three.   Once I figured the gyro function it is great.  The internal compass feature works if your watch supports it.   Don’t blame the developer,  they point this out.

Nice addition to the phone app. I would like to see the option of picking different position formats like you can in the phone app though, could you please make this an option.

Don’t waist your time. I payed twice trying to down load but did not work. Contacted app company but not much help there. Works fine on my iphone.

**Developer response:** If you purchased it from your iPhone or iPad and don’t have your Watch set to automatically install apps purchased from other devices, then you will need to go on your Watch, open the Watch’s App Store app, scroll down and tap “Account”, then tap “Purchases”, then install the app on the watch from there.

Love the app on the iPhone and iPad, so I thought why not buy it for my spanking new series 5 with compass. 

Paid the money, downloaded the app, and nothing but crash city. Will not even load up once!!! 

Running WatchOS 6.1 on my series 5 with cellular watch, and so far, it’s been just a waste of money. 🤬

**Developer response:** Please try restarting your Watch and see if that solves the problem -- it's likely that some other app or process is running in the background and causing a memory issue that prevents Theodolite from loading.  Memory issues are the main reason an app would be prevented from launching.  We get crash reports daily from Apple and as of Nov 12 there have been zero actual crashes reported in the 4+ weeks the app has been available, so that is more guidance that suggests the app isn't loading on your watch due to an external factor.  I replied to your e-mail on this issue, but if you need further assistance please contact us at hrtapps.com.

Deceptive description from developer. Apparently, this app will only work FULLY on Apple Watch series 5.  The developer does not clearly mention this “small detail.”  The compass function is completely useless.  It will NOT work.  I wasted a $1.99.

**Developer response:** It doesn't matter what version Watch you have -- Theodolite uses the gyro for primary bearing angle measurement on all of them, in order to give smooth angle measurement and display.  If you have a Series 5 with compass sensor, the gyro is automatically calibrated to true or magnetic north using gyro-compass fusion.  If you have a Series 4 or older, you need to manually calibrate the gyro using sun or moon position (shown on the dial) or a known bearing -- just rotate the digital crown.  Either way, you are using a gyro-compass.  

All of this is mentioned in the App Store description and on the product website.  There is also a Youtube video talking about gyro mode and how it works.  Not only are we not being deceptive, we are actively promoting this capability -- it's a key selling feature of the app, and something we *want* customers to know.

Almost excellent. The only issue I saw after a year of using it, it’s the MGRS format. The 10 figures grid is perfect, but maybe put a space, a hyphen or aback slash between the first 5 numbers ? 
But over all, it’s my favorite app when in the training area !!!

Like the product but didn’t get the theodolite when I purchased the adventure pack. Apple is not responding after to inquiries. Will Chang to 5 when this is squared up. Instructions and settings don’t help.

**Developer response:** Go to the App Store app on your Watch and look in "Account" > "Purchases".  You can install the app from there if it didn't come through the first time.

I have had the Theodolite app loaded on my iPhones for years. I just purchased an Apple Watch Ultra 2 and this is one of the first AW app’s I added. I did this as much to support the author as to use it. Getting in on the ground floor of this version.  I notice the location data is not loading. Brand new with the Apple Watch so I don’t know if there is an outside setting for this.

**Developer response:** That usually means you did not give permission for the app to use location services.  If you want to contact us at hrtapps.com, we can walk you through the process to correct this.

My younger self used to rock climb and go hiking every chance he got. I sure would have loved to have my Apple Watch Ultra, this app, and its companion app, the Pro Compass for Watch. The interface manages to be as beautiful as it is functional. I’m hoping that eventually the developers can create complications for these apps, making access even faster.

Bellissima app, da acquistare per sfizio. Nulla da dire in negativo, fa quello che deve e cona bussola integrata va ancora meglio. L’unica cosa bella sarebbe se si potesse tenere sempre attivo il display con quest’app, un po’ come la bussola sul nuovo aggiornamento di Apple Watch

Ideal for hill walking as a backup for my iPhone.  In freezing fog I couldn’t work my map app so have been looking everywhere for a lightweight gps.  Turns out I already have one.  I just needed this app.
Unfortunately I’ve an older watch without compass functionality so I can’t report on that.  Everything else works perfectly.
