## What is There?

There learns your body and adapts.

Most calorie apps hand you a maintenance number and never change it. There learns yours — from your real weight trend and what you actually eat — then refines your targets every week as your metabolism responds. That kind of self-correcting calorie engine is usually a paid feature elsewhere. In There, it's free.

Nutrition, training, and recovery in one place, and actually connected.

• ADAPTIVE CALORIE ENGINE
Your maintenance calories aren't a fixed guess. There learns them from your own data, so your deficit or surplus reflects how your body is actually responding, not a textbook formula. Weigh in, log your food, and your plan tunes itself.

• BRING YOUR HISTORY WITH YOU
Switching apps shouldn't mean starting over. Import your MacroFactor export during setup or anytime from Settings, and There picks up where you left off — your weight history, calories, and macros come with you. The adaptive engine learns from those months immediately instead of starting from zero, so your targets are personalized from day one. The import runs entirely on your device; your file is never uploaded.

• NUTRITION TRACKING
Log meals in seconds. Scan a barcode or a Nutrition Facts label, search a large food database, and build custom foods and meals. Track calories, macros, and micronutrients — by servings, grams, ounces, or whatever fits the food.

• WORKOUT LOGGING & PERFORMANCE
Record strength, cardio, and sports. See per-muscle training volume, estimated one-rep-max trends, effort, and personal records over time — tied back to your nutrition and recovery.

• RECOVERY & TRENDS
Overnight HRV, sleep, resting heart rate, and a daily recovery read help you decide when to push and when to rest. Weight and body trends use smoothing, not noisy daily numbers, so you see the real signal.

• APPLE WATCH
Start and track workouts, log meals, and glance at your rings on your wrist, synced with your phone.

• AI COACH (Premium)
Kevin, an optional AI assistant, talks through your nutrition, training, and recovery in plain language and helps you adjust your goals — always with your explicit consent about what's shared.

• EXPERIMENTS & CHALLENGES
Run simple personal experiments to learn what actually works for you, and join optional community challenges to stay motivated.

Built to be calm, clear, and honest.
There focuses on the signal, not the noise. No clutter, no pressure, no fake urgency. Your data stays yours: connect Apple Health only if you want, export everything anytime, and delete your account and data whenever you choose.

The adaptive calorie engine, nutrition and workout tracking, recovery, and progress are all free. There Premium unlocks the Kevin AI coach and your complete long-term history.

Fuel better. Train smarter. Keep evolving.

## Version history (last 4 releases)

### 1.3 — 2026-08-25

Search moved to the bottom of the screen, in thumb reach —
food, exercises, recipes and experiments, with filters just
above it.

Micronutrient targets now scale to your sex, age and calorie
target instead of the fixed values printed on packaging.

Plus: a clearer path to your goal weight, an optional body-fat
step at setup for more accurate maintenance calories, a
six-month plan, and Kevin can now see your goal plan and
micronutrients.

### 1.2 — 2026-08-18

A more accurate maintenance number

The adaptive engine could advance more than once in a day, which made
your learned maintenance drift upward over time. It now advances cleanly
once per day, and every account re-derives itself the first time you open
this version. If your number shifts, that's the correction landing — it
should now line up with what your intake and weight trend actually say.

New: if you told us your activity level during setup, your first few
weeks now start from that instead of a generic estimate.

Recovery scores you can trust

Two fixes. An elevated resting heart rate genuinely lowers your score
now — previously it couldn't. And a day with no wearable readings no
longer scores as fully recovered. Expect your score to be more
responsive than before.

The Recovery coach also reads your goal. If you're building, a surplus
is no longer treated as something to correct.

No more pause after scanning

Saving a scanned food could lock the app up for a second or two before
it responded again. The camera was doing its setup and shutdown on the
same thread that draws the screen. It doesn't any more — scanning a
barcode and saving it stays responsive throughout.

Apply to author community experiments

Qualifying now unlocks an application rather than the publish button.
Read and accept the Author Agreement, and we'll review it.

Caffeine that adds up

Coffee, tea and 65 other drinks were measured by the fluid ounce, so a
cup of coffee logged 12 mg of caffeine instead of roughly 144. They now
use realistic servings, and caffeine timing works properly.

Smoother charts

Charts no longer grab the page when you scroll past them.

Also in this update: a smarter Kevin that can log food without a round
trip, clearer protein and macro targets, and a long list of smaller fixes.

### 1.1 — 2026-08-15

Kevin can log your food from a sentence.

Tell Kevin "I had 2 eggs and toast" and he pulls up the foods with a tap to log each one, no back-and-forth. He recognises the meals you've saved yourself and offers your own servings and add-ons for them.

Write your own experiment
• Once There has learned your numbers, you can author an experiment for everyone — name it, say what you think will happen, and pick what There should measure.
• You choose from the things There can actually track, so your results are guaranteed to arrive rather than coming back empty.
• A person reads every submission before it goes live. You'll see it sitting in review, and you'll know the moment it's published so you can invite people in.
• Start a personal experiment any time, from day one — Kevin suggests a few safe ones and tells you what each would reveal.

Caffeine and alcohol
• Coffee, energy drinks and a glass of wine now show up in your day — with the timing, not just the total. 400mg over breakfast and 400mg at 4pm are very different days.
• See how long before your usual bedtime your last coffee was.
• Most foods carry no caffeine figure in any public database, so you can type your own on any entry and it sticks.
• Alcohol's calories were always counted — this just shows you how much.

A rebuilt chat
• Replies run full width, and you're anchored at the top of Kevin's answer so you read it from the start.
• Opens where you left off, at the end of the last answer.
• The keyboard no longer hides the newest message.
• Copy or regenerate any reply.
• Smoother, calmer typing.

Experiments and Challenges
• Experiments you've joined now appear in one place, show how far along they are, and run to a proper finish.
• Finished experiments report back: your own before-and-after, how the rest of the group did, and an honest note on what a result like this can and can't tell you.
• Challenges can be shared with a link or a code, and there's now a screen to join one.
• Reminders at the midpoint, before the end, and when results are ready.

Better food search
• Searching a basic food gives you that food. "Eggs" returns eggs, not an egg burrito.
• 2,000 common foods are built in, so most searches are instant and work offline.
• Fixed foods showing wildly overstated calories — powders and oils were being measured by the cup.
• Vitamins, minerals, caffeine and alcohol were missing from every online result. They're there now.

Meals you actually cook
• Tell There how many servings a recipe makes, and one serving logs as one serving instead of the whole batch.
• Log a meal by grams or ounces, not just servings.
• Edit a meal after you've made it — name, servings, ingredients and add-ons.

Your day, in more detail
• Daily Load shows how hard your day was, training and everyday movement together, against your own normal rather than a generic scale.
• Sleep now shows your debt against the sleep you actually seem to need, how steady your bedtime is, and how far your heart rate drops overnight.
• The Activity page gathers your performance and recovery trends in one place.

Setup and accuracy
• There now asks how active you are, so your first weeks aren't built on a guess.
• Maintenance calories hold steady through the day instead of climbing from morning to night.

Get There with friends
• Invite a friend and they get a free week of Premium. Every three who start logging earns you a free month.

Also fixed
• Back-to-back sessions, a second sport, or a lift followed by cardio could vanish from All Sessions. Every session is kept now.
• After a barcode scan, switching to grams could leave the green Add button trapped under the keypad.
