### 2/5 — Random behavior

*2026-01-07, version 15.9*

I set up the short cuts but Siri still will only work if the app is open, defeating the whole purpose of having the app. It also has been building a schedule with temps I never set it to. There is no trial period and it doesn’t work…

### 3/5 — Recent update breaks complication update

*2025-08-14, version 15.9*

The watch complication no longer updates unless you tap the complication to open the app on the watch. I have my refresh set to 15 minutes and two hours later it still doesn’t update unless you open the app.

### 2/5 — Siri shortcuts won't play nice with this app

*2025-07-09, version 15.8*

Tried everything but can't make siri commands work

### 5/5 — Works great

*2024-10-30, version 15.8*

I was so happy to find this. Works great.

### 5/5 — Love the app but recent update took Temp Adjust buttons away from widgets

*2024-10-15, version 15.8*

Great app, and to be honest a real shame that Nest & Apple couldn’t have done this themselves, so grateful to the Dev for making this. But recent iOS 18 update took away the up/down buttons on the iOS widgets. The only way to adjust temp now is actually opening the app. I like being able to finely tune the temp from the widgets while on the Lock Screen. It makes no sense to have a widget whose sole purpose is to open an app. I want to adjust the device directly on the shortcuts/widget screen.

### 5/5 — Great App

*2024-09-29, version 15.8*

Well designed , easy to use. Love watch complication. Just would like to set home and away temps with app.

### 5/5 — Commande préparateur d’eau chaude

*2024-09-22*

Eric

### 5/5 — Great app with great support

*2024-09-21, version 15.8*

I’ve been using Thermo Watch with my Nest thermostats for years and it works quickly and well. Today I updated my iPhone and Apple Watch and it would work on the new devices. I asked for customer support and Marlo replied with an easy solution within hours on a Saturday afternoon. Can’t ask for better service.

### 5/5 — Nice App

*2024-08-26, version 15.8*

I love this app. It has all the features I wish the Nest app had with the addition of a Apple Watch widget. Developer also responds to issues reported here, which is always appreciated.

### 5/5 — Control Nest Using Siri on iPhone

*2024-08-23, version 15.8*

This app allows me to use Siri on my iPhone to control my Nest thermostat. I save over $150 bc I wanted to buy a Siri compatible thermostat. Thank you Developer!

### 3/5 — Nice App with one exception

*2024-08-23*

Update: This app really needs to update at decent intervals. The iPhone, watch widget, and iPad widgets all take a really long time to update and therefore show outdated information. Interval needs to be every 5min. Even the 15min interval does not work and the display is frequently out of date compared to what the thermostat is showing. Only way to update it is to tap the widget and go into the app, at which point it refreshes the status.

This is a very nice app for controlling my Nest thermostat. I use it on my phone, watch, and iPad. The only issue I have with it is the widget on iPad OS 17 does not update at the set interval (15min). It seems to update about once an hour. The watch app and the iPhone widget do not have this issue. That’s the only thing keeping me from giving this 5 stars.

**Developer response:** I Just read the update of your review. I'd like to provide shorter widget update intervals, but unfortunately, there is an OS-imposed limitation to how often widgets can be updated, and 15 minutes is about the shortest interval allowed.

Previous reply: Glad to hear you like the app! All of the widget code is exact same on iPad as it’s on iPhone, so I think the minimum widget refresh interval is simply higher on iPadOS - as per the system requirement that can’t be overridden. If you have any 3rd party iPad app that updates its widget more frequently, please let me know, and I will try to find out how it’s doing that.

### 5/5 — Great App

*2024-07-17, version 15.8*

This app has been great. It really fills in everything that Google & Nest aren’t going to make for iOS. We just ended up switching from our Nest to Ecobee and I’m just realizing how much I used this app. Great widgets on all Apple devices, Apple Watch complications and the ability to do basic controls. Sadly Ecobee has all this built in so I’ll be uninstalling it. Thanks for making the Neat thermostat work!

### 5/5 — Prompt Support

*2024-06-27, version 15.8*

Marco was very prompt in replying to my query about Siri shortcuts. Thank you for this great app❗️

### 5/5 — Works perfectly

*2024-06-10, version 15.8*

Heats and cools perfectly from my watch. Complication looks clean. Thanks for this.

### 5/5 — Needs update

*2024-05-24, version 15.8*

Developer Responded and I’m gonna try what he suggested.

No update in two years. Not very reliable on the Apple Watch. Keeps getting errors sometimes works. Used to be my favorite app. Sometimes I get an error. Can’t change temperature. Sometimes the colors are wrong. Sometimes it won’t adjust temperature.

### 5/5 — Cool

*2024-02-04, version 15.8*

Fan time controls are in the preferences of the desktop/iOS app though.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Use to be great now useless

*2025-04-18, version 15.8*

You cannot control your thermostat through the widget like you use to be able to. Now the widget just opens the app completely useless.

### 1/5 — Perhaps doesn’t work with Nest Learning 4

*2024-09-15*

Can’t find the thermostat, so can’t use it. I just wanted a widget in my Home Screen.

**Developer response:** *Edit* The update that supports Gen 4 Learning Thermostat - the app version 15.9 - is out now!

Hi Jimmerine. I apologize for this. I have the new version of the app in testing that works with the new Gen 4 Learning thermostat. If you’d like to try it, please contact me at: marconelly@gmail.com

### 1/5 — Can not add multiple widgets for each thermostat

*2024-07-16, version 15.8*

Currently, there’s no way to configure which thermostat goes to a home screen widget so you can only have one and I can’t have both thermostats on widgets like I want. Please add the ability to configure home screen widget settings, and let us select which thermostat the widget should control.

### 1/5 — Siri not working

*2024-06-15, version 15.8*

I created the proper shortcuts, but when I try to use them, Siri just says “sorry, there was a problem, please try again in a moment”. Only reason I purchased was for use with Siri since nest doesn’t support Siri. This has been happening since I first downloaded the app. Could not find email info to contact support, so leaving review instead.

### 1/5 — Apple Watch Ultra

*2024-01-06, version 15.8*

This app does not work for the Apple Watch Ultra. I would like a refund.

### 1/5 — a fraud

*2021-06-26*

I paid and I couldn't register without first downloading another app that I don't want and I can't download it either.

**Developer response:** Before you can use Thermo Watch, you will have to perform an initial setup, using either the app from the App Store called “Nest” or the app called “Google Home”, depending on which thermostat model you have. I’m afraid there’s nothing anyone can do about this, because you need to add the thermostat to a Google account before it can be controlled remotely. Thermostat is made by them, and it’s their rule. Once you perform this initial setup, you can then use Thermo Watch to control your thermostat from your Apple Watch, iOS widget, or using Siri - which their apps do not support.
If you need more detailed instructions, or any help setting it up, you can always contact me at marconelly@gmail.com

### 1/5 — SSL Error

*2021-02-13*

An SSL error cannot establish a secure connection. App on the watch does not work, money wasted

**Developer response:** Hi saboorali. I hope that the update I've released a few months ago has resolved this problem completely for you. Let me know if you're still seeing the problem: marconelly@gmail.com

### 1/5 — Works sometimes

*2021-01-29*

It doesn’t work with shortcuts most of the time. It typically times out but occasionally succeeds maybe 10% of the time. I bought this so I could use Siri or my watch to change the temperature. To use Siri, you need to make a shortcut which does not work. If I open the app on my Apple Watch, I can usually get it to load in about one minute of holding my hand up waiting for the data to load. It’s never saved me time over taking my phone out and using the Nest app. Severely disappointed. Hopefully it’s just a temporary issue because I would love these features to work.

I’m on iPhone 11 Pro with high speed internet and WiFi. I use many other smart home applications, and this is the only thing that doesn’t work.

**Developer response:** Hi Not Studios. Are you having better luck using the Siri shortcuts from you phone? If they are timing out on the watch, or if the watch app is taking a while to sync, try restarting both the watch and the iPhone at the same time, and try having the phone closer to the watch when you are opening the app. It really should take more than a few seconds for the app to sync. If you don’t mind, please contact me at marconelly@gmail.com It would be great if you can test the new version of the watch app I’m readying, which should significantly improve the app sync times for users who are seeing the longer sync times.

### 1/5 — No hot water control

*2020-12-28, version 15.5*

I bought for the specific reason to automate hot water control. But it’s missing

### 1/5 — Does not work on Apple Watch!

*2020-11-18, version 15.4.1*

I’ve been looking for a watch app to control my Nest thermostat for some time, and this seemed to fit the bill. It’s advertised as compatible with Watch OS 7 but it does not work. The iOS app is great, but it isn’t what I need - the watch app is. I’m not happy with a paid app that doesn’t work!

UPDATE
Finally got it connected to the watch after multiple reinstalls of the app. Opening the watch app takes about 10 seconds before you can adjust the temperature, meaning it would be quicker to walk to the thermostat and adjust it directly. The complication does not show anything other than some lines, there is no temperature sun display as would be expected.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Good Developer

*2026-06-30, version 15.9*

Developer really wants his app to have a great success and will message you if you have great ideas

### 5/5 — Exactly what I needed

*2026-06-18, version 15.9*

I have an elaborate smart home and I use Home Assistant as my main hub. While there are ways to make HA work with my watch, it’s very convoluted. This was simple and easy and I was up and running in a few minutes. As a bonus this app doesn’t collect any day at all. Well worth the $3 cost for this app. It’s only been a day, but it’s a great app purchase so far. With a single tap of my watch, I can control the temperature. Not sure what more you could ask for.

### 5/5 — Much better than Nest app

*2026-03-24, version 15.9*

Now if he Mark would just write an app for my Honeywell thermostat.

### 5/5 — Works w nest 2020 thermostat

*2026-01-15, version 15.9*

Love this ! Made my nest 2020 display removing humidity on my phone and Apple Watch so I can better control my temps and humidity. Thank you!

### 5/5 — Works great!

*2026-01-14, version 15.9*

This app connected right away and works perfectly with my Ultra 3 watch and my Nest Gen 4. I’m able to control my thermostat right from my watch. The feedback response is great. Simplistic and works great!

### 5/5 — Still Works!!

*2025-11-11, version 15.9*

Google killed Nest but somehow I can still control mine using this app! Brilliant!

### 5/5 — Much better than Nest app

*2025-09-05, version 15.9*

First screen gives you all the info unlike Nest app. Hoping it still supports my Gen 2 thermostats after Nest/Google pull support in October.

### 5/5 — Nest gen 4

*2025-07-13*

Works well, looks way better than Google home and top notch service from Marko!👍🏻

### 5/5 — Cheap and effective

*2025-05-24, version 15.8*

I’ve had this app for years, it works great picking up Nests slack. I actually forget it’s 3rd party.

### 5/5 — Update for 4th Gen

*2025-05-14, version 15.8*

Do you have any estimate when the support for the 4th generation for Nest will be available. My 1 st gen is being phased out and delaying installing the 4th since I like what this app does and don’t want to be without it Thanks
