## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Bogus. Nor even haiku

*2020-08-23*

I started with five randoms and four didn’t even have the 5-7-5 meter. I gave up and will delete it after this review.

### 1/5 — Just crashes

*2014-02-06*

Thought it was supposed to be 5-7-5. Where's the haiku in crash?
(Nothing lower than one star, so gave it a one.)

### 1/5 — Won't open, crashes

*2013-02-24*

This SOUNDS like a good app, but it won't open. Flickers the screen black then goes back to home screen.

### 3/5 — Doesn't stop!

*2015-06-26*

Nice idea. Random play scrolls through the selections with out stopping so the only way to read a haiku is by selecting one from the library. Has potential.

### 4/5 — Twitter Bug

*2012-04-26*

I am a big fan of this app. It's a fantastic cross section of contemporary English language haiku and great to read anywhere. Plus the share features are great.

The only reason I didn't give the app 5 stars is because of a Twitter Bug that came about in the most recent update.

When you tweet from the app you can't get back to the haiku. Your stuck on the tweet page and have to close the app and reopen it to read more. This wasn't a problem on the initial release.

Also, for my wish list, it would be cool if when you tweet the haiku that some hash tags could be auto included in the tweet such as "#haiku" or "#thf" for The Haiku Foundation. This would help the app folks and THF up their rankings in the wild.

### 4/5 — Does what it says

*2011-08-15*

Nice backgrounds. The information on haikus is completely worth reading. Good searching. Nice UI and design.

### 5/5 — One of my favorite apps

*2019-06-21*

I read a haiku each morning—they are always profound and absolutely lovely in their own way.

### 5/5 — Thought provoking

*2015-02-22*

Inspirational.
Others words enlighten me, and cure writers block.

### 5/5 — Excellent poems; wide-ranging eras and styles

*2014-09-10*

An excellently curated collection of haiku, this includes thoughtful translations of works by Japanese masters, poems by some of the top modern poets (including a few not normally associated with haiku), and fine works by unknown -- or little-known -- writers.

You can let the application choose a random haiku, or leaf through a library of poets and first lines.

For anybody who appreciates poetry, THF Haiku is a wise purchase.

If the developers expand this periodically, or offer annual updates, it will be a prize.

### 5/5 — THF Haiku

Excellent

## Most praised reviews (1 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Finally! A contemporary haiku app to love

*2011-08-15*

The selection of haiku poets and poems is superb. The simple presentation accentuates the poems. Jim Kacian's introduction does a nice job of explaining haiku without dismissing the range of approaches to be found today. What a gift, having this free collection always in my pocket. Thanks THF!
