## What is Things of Mabob?

We realized the kitchen junk drawer isn't messy, it's actually a genius strategy for keeping your counters clutter free. We can apply that same methodology to your whole house by using something called chaotic storage, also known in logistics industry as dynamic slotting. It takes the pressure off of you to think. Don't worry about where your junk belongs or how it should be categorized. Just scan it with our app, drop it in a box, and move on with your day. It's not lazy, it's efficient. Huge companies like Amazon have used dynamic slotting for years. Now Things of Mabob™ brings it to your home.

## Version history (last 4 releases)

### 1.23.1 — 2026-08-16

New

Try it with a test account first. A 7-day trial with no email and no password — boxes, AI cataloguing, and sync all work. A banner counts down the days and notes the trial lives on this phone; creating an account before it ends keeps everything you added.

A welcome screen. A fresh install no longer lands on a sign-in form.

Usage measurement, and a switch to turn it off. The app now reports first open, signup started, account created, and purchase so ad campaigns can see an install happened. No tracking prompt and no advertising ID on either platform, consent starts denied, and Preferences → Privacy turns it off entirely.

Fixed

Stuck AI details can be retried from any device. An unfinished analysis now shows its status on every phone in the household, says when the next retry is due (with a Try now), and offers Try again once it has given up. Previously only the phone that took the photo knew anything was wrong.

Password managers fill the right fields. Every box on the sign-in and sign-up screens is labelled, so your email address stops landing in "Your Name" — and names keep their capital letters.

Bigger tap targets on "Have a code?", "Forgot password?", "Cancel or downgrade", "Request a refund", and the paywall's Terms/Privacy links.

Unboxed items show up again. The Boxes screen's Elsewhere section now catches items with no location records at all — the common case after a box is deleted — and the card is named Unboxed to match item cards. Home screen cards say "Out and about" and "Lost" instead of calling everything unboxed.

"Not in stock" is tappable. On an item whose box was deleted, it opens the box picker so you can put a unit back in stock instead of staring at a dead label

### 1.16.4 — 2026-08-07

NEW

• See where everything is — not just what's in boxes. The Boxes screen has a new "Elsewhere" section listing items that are out and about, items with no box, and a count of anything missing, with a shortcut to the Lost screen.
• "In a room, not in a box" — mark an item as loose in a room (e.g. the Garage) without putting it in a specific box. You can create the room right there.
• Fix what the AI got wrong. A pencil on the item screen opens an editor for the title, description, voice-note transcript, and keywords. Edits sync everywhere and update search right away.
• Edit an item's photos — add more from the camera or your library, and delete the ones you don't want. Every item keeps at least one photo, and duplicate detection re-runs on the picture you kept.
• Do everything right after a scan. The capture screen now has the same tools as the item screen: fix the title and description, choose Keep/Give/Sell/Toss, and add flags with assign and notify. A new "Discard & Retake" button throws away a bad scan and reopens the camera.
• Promo and referral codes. Redeem a code at signup, from Account → Redeem a code, or from a shared thingsofmabob.com/redeem link, to unlock a plan for a set period or for good.
• Forgot password. Request a reset email from the login screen, follow the link back into the app, and set a new password.
• Sync status screen. See exactly which changes haven't synced and why — over your plan's limit, failed, or still waiting — and jump straight to the item to fix it.
• Immersive camera on tablets: the viewfinder now fills the screen instead of showing bars on the sides.

IMPROVED & FIXED

• Nothing gets quietly lost. Signing out, switching households, or joining a household now waits when you have unsynced changes, instead of discarding them.
• Content stuck over your plan's limit now syncs on its own once there's room — after you upgrade, or after you delete something to get back under the cap.
• The item screen now tells you when AI details are still coming, and gives you a "Try again" button if they couldn't be finished. AI processing is also more reliable when our provider has a bad day.
• The "Sync failed" chip no longer cries wolf. Several cases where it appeared — or stayed stuck — while everything was syncing fine are fixed.
• Creating a box while boxing items now respects your plan's limit up front, so you can't make a box that could never sync.
• Tapping the location card on an item now opens a clear menu — "Move to a different box" and "Change quantity or add a location" — instead of two unlabeled icons. Items showing "Not in stock" can be put back in a box from the same screen.
• Item labels are honest about where things are: items say "Out and about", "Lost", or "Unboxed" rather than lumping everything together.
• Resolving a duplicate while boxing keeps you in the boxing flow instead of jumping you to the item screen.
• Fixed taps needing two presses when the keyboard was open, in the new-box sheet, the box picker, and the Box Something screen.
• Fixed invite and login links opening in a browser instead of the app on Android.
• Bug reports now include a fuller technical snapshot to help us fix problems faster. They never include the contents of your items.
