The design is terrible half the time when I’m in the app and click to expand the screen I end up moving the video to the end because they’re right on top of each other.

Second it makes no sense that when you have multiple programs that the active ones are not listed first. I have to go in every time and dig to find the one I was last in.

I have a lot of trouble playing the videos on the iPad. I have to open the webpage on my phone so we can watch them. The quiz also doesn’t ever “complete.” When I finish a lesson and click the button for the next lesson, it doesn’t take me there.

### 1/5 — Excited at First… But Deeply Disappointed with the Branded App Process

I was genuinely excited to learn that Thinkific offered a branded mobile app option. After watching a few YouTube videos and discovering there was even a free version, I dove in. The basic version seemed solid—simple, clean, and checked most of the boxes.

But because I have several courses hosted on the platform, I decided to upgrade and go for the branded app experience, thinking it would elevate the user journey. At first, everything with the Apple App Store setup went smoothly—I expected a short approval process and was ready to launch.

Then came the Android (Google) setup… and that’s where everything started falling apart. The instructions provided by Thinkific were poorly written and unclear, which cost me hours of unnecessary troubleshooting and frustration.

To make matters worse, I reached out to customer support—something I’ve rarely needed to do in the past. Sadly, this time, no one seemed able to help. I eventually got a follow-up email with a suggested fix, but it didn’t solve the issue.

At this point, I’ve spent $100 and countless hours on what I hoped would be a streamlined solution. Instead, I’m left with nothing functional and a lot of wasted energy. I’ve requested a refund and will be looking for an alternative platform for my branded app experience.

Disappointed doesn’t even begin to cover it.

While I do enjoy the app and the learning capabilities it unlocks, there is a major annoyance with the system. The “complete” button at the end of video lessons are terribly inconsistent and I really understand when it will pop up or not when scrolling through. Also, the “resume content” button almost never puts me where I left off. It will bring me some random lesson several modules ago. It also seems to be the same old lesson however.

It’s a shame this app is so buggy, makes it almost impossible to complete my courses. Crashing every few minutes and that’s not an exaggeration. Developers-  please do something about this. Doesn’t even deserve one star at this point, tbh

The app signs me out every time. I have to search for my courses by the name of the school.  I’m going to delete it as every time I’m on a course it wants to open the app.  Not very well thought out for users.

I created a course on behalf of my former employer and made the mistake of giving Thinkific my social security number. As a platform for hosting classes, Thinkific is okay, but their support is appalling. There is literally no way to contact them unless you’re currently paying them. I needed to get statements for my taxes from them, and I reached out to them on LinkedIn…nothing. I asked HR at my old company, since they still had a login, and they weren’t able to get anything either.

This app stinks on my iPhone and iPad. You cannot download files unless you are on a desktop browser. The words to go for or back lectures are missing or sometimes covered in a white block. Then it glitches where you can’t see anything at all on the app. It’s so frustrating. I’m constantly having to exit the app and try again. I have done lots of different courses using different apps, and this one is by far the worst.

I hate this app so much. I gave it one star only because I am required to give at least one star. Once again, I cannot log into my classes. This happens constantly. Going forward, I am going to contact any class I am considering and I am going to find out if they use this app for their content. If they do, I will not purchase the class. Thinkific exists to make it impossible to actually take the classes I have purchased.

I am registered in a course through the website. That’s fine. However, the app doesn’t recognize the course, even when I’m on the website and click the “open in thinkific app”. It just takes me to “this screen doesn’t exist.” Useless.
