### 4/5 — Good book summaries, needs one important feature

*2020-11-24*

This is a good book summary app. I’ve enjoyed reading the books and being able to add them to a personal library. There is an important feature missing, however, which I have observed in other book summary apps. It is the inability to filter books by unread versus completed. It’s not an issue in the beginning, but as one completes more books, it becomes increasingly difficult to select a book you have not already read.

### 5/5 — Succinct

*2020-07-30, version 2.10*

Books are wordy. Thinkr gets to the point.

### 5/5 — Excellent App!

*2020-06-17, version 2.8*

Been using this app for about a week now, and am greatly impressed with it. It's easy to use and well designed. Well worth its $10 per month fee.

In the next version I'd like to see the developers add two features that many audio readers really appreciate and use often:

1) the ability to control at which speed they hear the summaries read, either slower or faster depending on the topic - at 10% intervals (90% of normal speed, 80% of normal, 70%, etc.).

2) the ability for the listener to click backward (or forward) in 10-second intervals to quickly review material.

These two highly valued features would radically improve an already superb app!

### 5/5 — Better than blinkist

*2020-05-23*

The best reading app period. Could add full books into app, it’s brand new and is the best so I can’t ask much. 6 stars!

### 5/5 — Great app!

*2020-04-16, version 2.8*

Easy to navigate and supplies great reads.

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2020-01-29, version 2.7*

They have all the topics I’m interested in, and I can listen to the big ideas in these great books while I’m driving. It’s great because if one of the books’ ideas captivates you, you know that you should get the real book to dive deeper into the material. One caveat is that there is no section where you can view the summaries you’ve read. That would be helpful in deciding which ones to order on Amazon.

### 5/5 — Found so many good books

*2020-01-28*

I love this app. It’s easy to use and it’s actually helped me find some of my favorite books! Thank you!

### 5/5 — Love this app

*2020-01-24, version 2.4.1*

Such a great source of knowledge . The app is very easy to use and looks great

### 5/5 — Great app

*2020-01-24, version 2.4.1*

I love the website but the app is even better. Great content and great design.

### 5/5 — I learn something new every day

*2020-01-20*

The point of this app is to make you think, and it does just that. You get the key ideas from bestselling titles in a matter of minutes. And the book selection is great, too. Most of the apps on my phone waste my time, but this one is entertaining and educational.

### 5/5 — Speed reader!

*2020-01-15*

I love the quick reads this app has. I get an in-depth idea of what these books are about without having to read more than the couple of short chapters in each summary. Makes purchasing new books that I know I will love so much easier! I recommend 100%.

### 5/5 — 5 million stars

*2020-01-15, version 2.4.1*

This things awesome!! I love it

### 5/5 — Where Has This Been My Whole Life

*2020-01-14*

I’ve always struggled reading non-fiction but with this I can stay focused on the main points and not get sidetracked with all the filler. Its also a great way to get interested on a new topic and then go and research it further.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — PayPal link is not working/ unsuccessful sign-up

*2021-08-22, version 2.13*

I tried to sign up today for a free trial and PayPal link is not working properly. Also, I could not locate a link for customer service. I downloaded the app, hoping that I could sign up, but the app says it does not have the capability to create a new account. Also, I could not find locate a link for customer service in the app.Based on other reviews, I am anxious to try this app. Hopefully someone will read this and contact me. Thanks!

### 1/5 — Thinkr

*2021-01-26, version 2.12*

This site has the most limited library ! With probably under 90 books, the price is way overrated and nonrefundable so you can listen to their whole library in under a week! For $100 you’d be better off reviewing books from Amazon Kindle and reading the introduction. The Thinkr voices reading is robotic mono tone and lacks character and inflection. W/0 warning my week trial was billed after 1st 6 days !! And non refundable!!!

### 1/5 — App not working for me

*2020-09-24, version 2.10*

Won’t let me in.

### 1/5 — Bad design with limited / weak content

*2020-07-25*

For starters, it doesn’t work in a landscape position for my iPad so you won’t be able to use your keyboard which is ridiculous. Secondly, the summaries are very short and incomplete. I started with 12 Rules for Life - it contained five, two-minute chapters that did not cover all the rules. Really? I looked up Animal Farm - they don’t have it. I really couldn’t find many of the great books, and cancelled my subscription. Oh, you’ll have to do that on their Website even thought I set everything up through the App - just another reason to not like this product.

### 1/5 — Scam

*2020-04-12*

You only get a few pages of each book, the search features doesn’t work well, the setting feature is limited you have to use a desktop to control it, there are several better reading apps which are dependable compared to this dumb app. I thought it was related to mental health because of the advertisement and it turns out it’s just a reading app. The three day free version you do not get to see the whole book and I think this company preyed on people during this covid time with its advertising. I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE SHAme on you.

**Developer response:** We apologize that you did not understand the purpose or functionality of our app, but to call us a scam is not even remotely warranted. Our site and app do not ever claim to provide full texts of books. We offer "Key Insights" of popular non-fiction, similar to Blinkist or Instaread or other popular apps in this space. If you misunderstood this, we are always 100% committed to customer satisfaction and offer 100% refunds to unhappy customers. Please contact us directly and we will take care of that immediately.

### 1/5 — Terrible.

*2019-01-31, version 1.0.9*

Can’t log in. No clear way to change password. Neat idea, but terrible design.

### 1/5 — Have to log in again every time

*2018-09-11*

I can’t even capitalize on the super condensed versions available through this app because it has required me to log back in every single time and re-download the books I had in my library.

It often rejects my credentials and has never allowed Keychain to store them. Today it informs me I have to sign in again and then pick a subscription rate. That would have been acceptable had it not been presented as a “free” app when I originally downloaded it - and if it listed “in-app purchases in the App Store.

I love the concept but it isn’t working for me. Figure it out, clean it up, present the costs clearly and make it be something I can just click on and enter my library. I’m out until then.

### 1/5 — Poor performance

*2018-07-25, version 1.0.7*

App keeps crashing. I have not been able to listen through a full book yet. I will be returning for a refund if not fixed.

### 3/5 — App Will not Take my Credentials

*2020-07-20, version 2.9*

Great product with poor App design. The application has never authenticated my credentials. I have to use the browser always.

### 3/5 — Unable to Sign Up

*2018-03-04, version 1.0.5*

Unfortunately I am unable to sign up for Thinkr because of the graphical interface positioning

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Chew on this.

*2021-11-04*

One of the reasons I enjoy reading scriptures, proverbs, and poems, is that in a short amount of time my mind and spirit are fed.

This is similar, but with a little more meat on the bones.

I will often end up taking the ideas and striking up conversation with them. Which means I’m only further engaging with the ideas. Keep up the good works, developers.

### 5/5 — My new favorite

*2021-08-23*

This app is simple yet effective. I’m very happy to run through many books absorbing many tittles in a single day. If a book is good I'll put it on my reading list to dive deeper and if a book is bad I’m happy I didn't buy it or waste my time reading it.

I’d just like to say to the developer- please add functionality enabling users to suggest new book titles, very important!

### 5/5 — Perspective and power in short essays

*2021-05-21*

I love that I learn the principle ideas from start to finish. Everything in context and ultimately powerful in impacting my perspective from the great thinkers of our time.

### 5/5 — Brilliant app

*2021-04-17*

Really have enjoyed the great content and the delivery is top notch

### 5/5 — Grant

*2021-02-16*

Terrific app. Has opened me up to a whole new world of authors I never would’ve tried before.

### 5/5 — Great Knowledge App

*2020-12-27*

I’m very curious and wish to know many things. I’m also, unfortunately, very impatient! 😂 This app distills the knowledge of the book into quick, easy to grasp, easy to read, portions for the impatient reader.

### 5/5 — Better than other apps that provide the same service

*2020-12-15*

Better selection
More full summaries
More trustworthy

### 5/5 — Better than blinkst

*2020-11-07*

Great selection too

### 5/5 — Great App!

*2020-10-26*

There is nothing better than reading a good book and since there are so many it’s hard to read them all. This app lets me get the highlights and overview of the books. Gives me the options of still learning and then I buy the books I want to learn more about. Love it!

### 5/5 — Tasty bytes of Wisdom

*2020-10-06*

Thinkr does a good Jon of summarizing books and hitting you with the meat of the sandwich up front. I’ve read multiple books in their library and they sum them up accurately and succinctly! A great experience so far.
