### 1/5 — Ehhh?

*2025-09-10*

So far, it’s fine, but I do not like how it is AI powered. At first, when I was in about 2nd or 3rd grade, it seemed fine. But now, I’m in fifth grade with fifth grade math, and it does not work out. It challenges me too much, the videos are often unhelpful, and it glitches a lot. When a worksheet does not load in my score after I finish, I have to delete my tab and reopen it, and then the worksheet does not load in on the Coaching tab, where I check my worksheets. And same as some others, typing back in the correct username+password doesn’t work until at least the 3rd try. Also, we learn ALL of this at school. In THIRD GRADE, my teacher helped us play a game based off of taxes and bills. Not all teachers and schools do that, but so far, even in THIS app, it has not given me anything off taxes or bills. In general, if this app did not glitch, and was powered MOSTLY off of humans, not AI, it’d be great. But the personalizing AI challenges me too much, and although some worksheets could be easy, it’s usually too hard. I know my parents could just teach me, but usually, one of them gives a lecture, and the other? Usually fine, but eh. The games are fine, they do not glitch, but usually, when I click right on the: start a game button, it does not work several times. My overall rating? One star, I guess. I’m just a kid who wants to be free. Here’s my logic, out of this app. We sleep for about 8 hours as a child about my age. We spend 4 hours at home after waking up. Then, we go to school for 8 hours, and once we get home, that is about four hours. Excluding sleep, this is 16 hours. Plus sleep, that’s 24. One exact day. Meaning, we spend half our day at school. I think the average child here would spend about an hour on here. I guess that’s another hour of school. 3 hours left of home till sleep, sort of. I’ve used this app for years now, and I’ve seen the flaws in this app. This app is completely fine. The one problem? The giant challenges. And odd numbered worksheets. I could literally get a 4 questions worksheet, and getting one wrong equals 75%. Another thing. If I get a question correct on the second try, it does not even give me a half point. What’s the point then? Showing that we understand now, and then you do not affect our overall grade? For people who might read this Review, I am not saying you shouldn’t get the app, but I’m saying this app is overall, eh, not very good. We go to school to be free from the troubles and potential troubles of home. After school, we head home to be free from the troubles and potential difficulties of school. So why should we be trapped again, for another hour of school? And, usually, I think most of us have to do this over summer break, too. We are trapped in this app for an hour every day. Summer break is not an excuse. Many others might actually think, “Just one hour? Get over it, kid.” But some of us, actually want to stop using this app. Usually, our parents just want us to succeed, but enclosing us into an endless cycle of math and ELA for 12 months a year? No thanks. If this app still ends only at 8th grade, I’m happy, because in about 2 years, I am out of here. Plus, some of us kids have to do EXTRA math even after using this app, so that would take the average 2 hours. And if you add on the high school grades, I cannot do that. High school is definitely stressful already, for those who are in high school. They get a lot of online and paper homework. My summary is: I do not care if you get this app. But if your parents are planning to put you here until you cannot anymore, and you’re in 2nd or third grade, ehh… try thinking of something to slip out of it. I can’t help. All the math in here, about 5/7 I’ll use on real life. But in reality, it’s likely others and me, will learn the real stuff in middle school and high school. The 3 grades that count are kindergarten, first grade, and fourth grade. They’re quite necessary. Ending of this review: Don’t pity this app, or ignore it. My one warning? If you’re a parent, maybe think before downloading this for your child. Especially if you’re planning to use this app for her/him for years.

### 3/5 — Reliable app good for learning math, but many glitches and nitpicks. Please read.

Ok, so I’ve been using Thinkster for more than 3 years. It’s a studying app, so I wouldn’t expect it to be “fun”, but the lessons are too generic, same with the videos. On the new version, the game titles are straight up fraud. For example, when I played “Ratio Blaster”, I was expecting an engaging game about ratios, but instead I had to shoot down letters. Same thing goes for the other “math” games. The worst offender, though, is geography penguin, which just shows a white, blank screen =(. Also, the coaches sound like robots. When I saw “Guided Learning Concierge”, for a few months I thought it was a robot! Moving on to the glitches, on the older version and new one alike, and some of these may have been patched, I experienced a variety of glitches like not being able to scribble, typing the correct password but not being able to log in, and questions being skipped. Also, on the new version , you can’t submit a flag unless you click one of the four prompts. What if you need to flag something else, like a glitch (something I’ve had to do quite a bit). Get rid of this trash feature, or at the very least add a prompt that says something about glitches. Aren’t you supposed to tell coach if a parent helped you with the worksheet. There’s no prompt for that either >=(. But, the new version fixed a lot of the problems I had with the old version so props to you :). By the way, this is Krishang, grade 6 curriculum, 4th grade in real life, 10 years old. Goodbye!
