Nothing really works it just shows you a message or error and even if you close the app and try to reboot it, it still doesn’t work. Tried repeatedly to create an account as that's the only way to use the app and continually got an error message that something unexpected happened on the server side. Everything else worked well, but I encountered an issue with the Thinkware Connect app. It would connect to my iPhone Pro's hotspot, but then disconnect after a few minutes. Additionally, it was difficult to connect to a hotspot in general, which was very inconvenient. I just bought this device two days ago and I am thinking of returning it. I bought two for both my cars. ### 1/5 — Poor customer service *2024-06-19* I was trying to get an additional memory mini card to work. Customer service gave me incorrect information. Instead of telling me that I needed a custom card for my model, according to their website, she told me that I needed to simply pay for another card. A waste of money. Scan the barcode or enter the code manually it never connects. Completely useless. And I’m a software developer, not a computer novice by any stretch, terrible software guys. ### 1/5 — Need dark mode *2026-04-06* Add dark mode to the app. ### 1/5 — Sort it out!! *2026-01-02* So, after thinking that you’ve updated the app, the camera app to scan the barcode is still blurry after someone having 10 pints, I’ve put in the serial number about 10x times manually and it still asks me to re-enter the serial number. You come out with all this ‘you can check your cameras whilst away from your vehicle!’ and yet every other person has tried the same thing and still doesn’t work. Talk about false advertising. Can’t believe I paid over £1200 for two units, to which the customer has to set it up by themselves. Was hoping I could send a picture of the camera setup for looking at the barcode to prove it doesn’t work! ### 1/5 — Another useless app from Thinkware. *2025-11-07* Great cameras - but all their apps are absolutely awful. Stream from wherever and constant updates e.g. if someone bumps your car while you're not there. Real time footage is key here. More often than not the perpetrator has already done a runner by the time you check your footage to see what happened. No chance of an insurance company proving who was driving with number plate alone but with this you can go catch them real time. Oh and it's great for seeing which neighbour's cat has been chewing my windscreen wipers! ### 4/5 — Works, just complicated *2026-07-02* *first make sure usb-c setting in the other app it set to LTE, let the cam reboot then do this -Car off -Insert SIM card into connected module -plug usb c cord into dashcam from connected module -turn car on -(have the account set up prior and be ready to submit right after the car turns on) submit the sim number on app or scan the code - listen for instructions from dashcam BOOM DONE YOU GOT IT ### 4/5 — Connects - Lacking features *2024-05-24* Had no issue connecting to the application despite all does one stars. Would be nice to request a live view and see the battery % even in low power mode, A radar health check is also missing. ### 4/5 — Works! *2024-03-22* It could be better, but once connected it works as expected. If someone drives my car, it’s cool that I can see their live driving feed while driving. The GPS maps cool too as it maps “start and stop” driving locations. ### 4/5 — Good app but needs improvements *2023-04-13* Difficult to register the dash cam and counter-intuitive to set up connection to a hotspot in the Thinkware Link app first. Once setup is done though, everything seems to work well. Can’t complain, getting cloud features for free ### 3/5 — Seems to work fine *2025-03-08* A lot of 1 star reviews here. Remember you need to register the dashcam first in a separate app called Thinkware DashCam link. You then need to add an internet connection in the Thinkware DashCam link app. Only once you’ve down those 2 steps will you be able to register the DashCam in the Thinkware Connected cloud app. It needs internet access for this step. The app is a bit clunky to use and I haven’t figured out how to download videos from the cloud yet. I logged in online but it took me to some web site that looked like it was for vehicle fleet managers. But the app does seem functional. I’m just using my car’s internal WiFi hotspot for now. So yes, app a bit awkward to use, but don’t think it deserves 1 star. I’ll give it 3 for now. ### 3/5 — Getting connected *2023-11-01, version 0.1.11* You can only connect with either a Wi-Fi hotspot on a cell phone or a home network to register. Using the built in Wi-Fi on the camera will not allow you to register the camera. Found a YouTube video that helped.
