## What is thirdspace?

thirdspace is where your existing friend group goes to have MORE FUN, together.

You know that random Tuesday urge to get boba? The "someone come watch this sunset with me right now" moment? The "I just found the weirdest thrift store, get over here" energy? Those are sidequests. And thirdspace is built for exactly that.

We made this app because we were tired of the same group chat cycle. Someone says "we should hang out," everyone says "definitely," and then nobody does anything for three weeks. thirdspace kills that cycle in two minutes flat.

HOW SIDEQUESTS WORK

1. Start a Sidequest
Snap a pic of whatever caught your attention, type what you're doing, and send it out. Could be anything. A spontaneous coffee run. A walk to nowhere. Finding the best taco within walking distance. Your nearby friends get notified instantly.

2. The 2-Minute Window
Your friends have 2 minutes to join the sidequest. That's it. No "let me check my schedule." No "maybe later." You're either locking in or missing the moment. This timer exists because the best hangouts are the ones nobody overthinks.

3. Location Reveal
Your location stays completely hidden until a friend accepts. Once they're in, maps unlock for both of you, and you're on your way to actually meeting up. Safety first, always.

4. Capture the Moment
When you link up, take a pic together. No filters. No posing for 20 minutes. Just proof that you actually left the house and did something with your friends. Share it with your circle or post it publicly.

Your Sidequest Log:
Every hangout gets saved to your personal Memories. Scroll back through all the spontaneous coffee runs, the chaotic midnight drives, the "why did we walk here" adventures. A whole timeline of times you actually showed up for your friends.

WHY YOUR FRIEND GROUP NEEDS THIS

The 2-minute timer makes flaking basically impossible. You're in or you're not. No more "I'll let you know" texts that go nowhere.

Locations stay private until someone commits. Your friends only see where you are after they accept the sidequest.

This isn't another app for watching people live their lives through a screen. thirdspace is for people who want to be in the room, on the curb, at the spot. The whole point is to get you and your friends outside, doing things together in real life.

Whether its your close friends or someone new in the group, the best connections happen when you stop scrolling and start showing up.

thirdspace. stop scrolling. start questing.

### 5/5 — Fire

*2026-05-28, version 2.0.27*

Lowkey fire

### 3/5 — It’s good, just needs some work

*2026-05-07, version 2.0.21*

I use an iPhone Air, so I can tell when my phone is using a lot of resources because it gets hot. This app has my phone heating up in my pocket all the time, and continues to use my location long after the side quest is done which destroys my battery life. I noticed the app was also trying to use my Dynamic Island. (I could swipe left and right on it) and it would just slightly expand the black part of it without showing anything. So basically, I really like the app idea, but it uses too many resources and still feels a bit unpolished and is kind of hard to navigate. Like what is the discover page supposed to do? Show me people I don’t know? Really cool idea though.

### 5/5 — Love this app

*2026-05-06, version 2.0.21*

I love this app, it makes it so easy to connect with others and to try new and fun activities !!

### 5/5 — Customizable time of response

*2026-04-17, version 2.0.19*

Great app so far but maybe being able to decrease or increase time to accept a quest would be nice!

### 5/5 — So much fun

*2026-04-17, version 2.0.19*

It’s so cool seeing everyone pull up in person!

### 1/5 — Biggest regret of 2026, they sell your phone number to scam companies

*2026-04-16, version 2.0.19*

Nevermind the endless “share us with your friends” notifications.
They are absolutely selling your info to telemarketers. The day after i started trying to use this app I got 20 spam phone calls and 8 scam texts in a single morning. No other life changes, the only thing i gave a phone number to was this app. Deleted my account immediately

### 5/5 — Super fun to use with my friend group

*2026-04-16, version 2.0.19*

Title

### 1/5 — More “share with friends” notifications than event notifications

*2026-04-08*

Every SINGLE morning my phone will buzz. “Why arent you sending this app to your friends?” “Stop gatekeeping us, share with friends” “send this app to your friends!” There is no way to turn them off without also turning off event notifications. Although, seeing as how i havent gotten a single event notification the entire week I’ve used this app, i guess its a fair trade. And i live in the middle of a big city too, if this app should work well anywhere it should be here. I guess i should thank them for religiously begging me to share with friends because every time i get a notification from them it drives me one step closer to deleting the app.

**Developer response:** Thanks for the feedback, We do this mainly because the app doesn't work without friends.
thirdspace isn't an events app its an app to go on side quests with your existing friends.
We would love to learn more about your experience using the app and see how we can incorporate any feedback please don't hesitate to shoot us an email at team@thirdspace.so

### 1/5 — Not a great experience

*2026-03-07, version 2.0.9*

Is empty as hell, no people use this app. I also understand why, it’s purpose it’s kinda moot

### 5/5 — An essential social app

*2026-02-04, version 2.0.7*

Thirdspace has been great for helping me stay connected with friends, and the idea behind it is what really makes it stand out. The app keeps improving with thoughtful updates, and it’s the best option for anyone looking for more real social connection when things start to feel monotonous.
