## What is ThoughtMirror?

ThoughtMirror is a private journal that notices your patterns.

Write a few lines, tag how you feel, and Mirror, the on-device AI companion, pays attention over time: which people lift you, which days drag, how your mornings compare with your evenings, which feelings keep coming back. Everything runs on your iPhone. Nothing you write is uploaded, ever.

PATTERNS YOU CAN CHECK
Every insight comes with "Why you're seeing this": the entries it was drawn from, the date range and how confident Mirror is. Tap any entry to read it. Mark an insight helpful, not accurate, or hide it, and Mirror stops showing you that kind of observation.

HONEST, NOT DIAGNOSTIC
Mirror says "a possible pattern", never a label. A pattern only appears once it has repeated enough times to mean something, and the numbers are always one tap away.

A COMPANION THAT GETS TO THE POINT
Talk things through with Mirror in chat. Replies are two or three sentences, specific to what you actually wrote, with one question at most. No generic advice.

MOOD, TIME AND HEALTH
Log your mood in one tap. Mirror compares weekdays, times of day and recurring themes so the pattern surfaces, not just the data. Optionally connect Apple Health to see how sleep, steps and activity line up with how you feel.

ON YOUR LOCK SCREEN AND HOME SCREEN
Today and Your Week widgets, Lock Screen widgets, and a quiet Live Activity in the Dynamic Island that shows your mood, your streak and the moment Mirror notices something new.

ASK SIRI
"Log my mood in ThoughtMirror." "What did I notice this week in ThoughtMirror." Past entries are searchable from Spotlight.

YOURS TO KEEP
Face ID lock, Markdown or JSON export, optional iCloud sync, and a one-tap way to delete everything.

COMPLETE PRIVACY
All AI processing uses Apple's on-device models. No account, no servers, no analytics, no tracking. We can't read your journal, and neither can anyone else.

Premium unlocks unlimited Mirror conversations and personality insights. The journal, mood tracking, widgets, Siri and pattern discoveries are free.

Start noticing.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.4.1 — 2026-10-30

Mirror now shows its work.

• Every insight explains why you're seeing it: the entries behind it, the date range and how confident Mirror is. Tap an entry to read it.
• Tell Mirror what landed. Mark an insight helpful, not accurate, or hide it, and that kind of observation won't come back.
• Smarter pattern spotting: weekdays, times of day, recurring feelings and the people who change your mood. Patterns only appear once they've repeated enough to count.
• Gentler wording. "A possible pattern" instead of labels, and plain words instead of percentages.
• Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets with today's mood, your streak and your week at a glance.
• A quieter Dynamic Island that shows your mood and streak after you check in, and lights up only when Mirror notices something.
• Ask Siri: "Log my mood in ThoughtMirror" or "What did I notice this week in ThoughtMirror."
• Search past entries from Spotlight.
• Optional Apple Health connection to compare sleep and activity with your mood.
• Optional iCloud sync across your devices.
• Export your journal as Markdown or JSON, and delete everything in one tap.
• Shorter, more specific replies from Mirror in chat.
• Tap a recent entry on Today to open it, and log a mood right from the Today card.
• A cleaner look for iOS 26, full Dynamic Type and VoiceOver support, calmer colors, and reminders that aren't bright pink.

### 1.4.0 — 2026-10-28

Better top headers
• New reusable ScreenHeader component (Theme.swift): accented glyph in a glass disc, a gradient title (rounded, 32pt), a contextual subtitle, and an optional trailing action button.
• Applied to Journal, Insights, and Patterns — replaced the plain system nav titles (hid the nav bars) with these richer headers. Each subtitle is dynamic (e.g. "4 entries", "3 insights from your reflections", "2 patterns discovered").
• The Journal ＋ button moved into its header's trailing slot.

Better Settings + Apple Foundation Model selection
• Settings now leads with a ScreenHeader ("Settings / Personalize your experience") instead of a bare nav title.
• New Intelligence section:
• AI Reflections master toggle (wired to aiResponsesEnabled).
• Response Engine segmented picker — Apple Intelligence vs Standard — with a live availability indicator driven by SystemLanguageModel.default.availability (Ready / Not supported here / Turn on in iOS Settings / Preparing…), plus a one-line explanation that updates with the choice.
• The selection is real: added useAppleIntelligence to UserSettings, AIService now gates the on-device model path on it (useAppleIntelligence && isFoundationModelsAvailable), and JournalView applies the preference on setup. Picking "Standard" uses the built-in replies everywhere; "Apple Intelligence" uses the on-device model when available and falls back gracefully otherwise.
