Thread Colour Picker helps stitchers and embroiderers quickly find  DMC thread shades that closely match colours in your photos. Pick an image from your library, pinch to zoom for precision, then tap anywhere to sample. Instantly see the hex value and the five closest thread brand matches — complete with code, name, and a colour swatch. Save favourites with a tap and export a clean, printable PDF of your swatches, optionally including a thumbnail of your sampled photo for easy reference. Use the inventory section to keep track of your threads and add custom entries including pictures and notes.

Designed to be simple Thread Colour Picker works entirely on‑device. Your photos never leave your iPhone, iPad, and there’s no account, sign‑in, or analytics.

Thread Colour Picker has been upgraded with the internationally recognised **CIEDE2000 colour-difference formula**.  The app now compares colours in a way that more closely reflects how the human eye sees differences in lightness, hue and colour intensity.

When you select a colour from a picture, the app analyses it against the thread catalogue and presents the **five closest perceptual thread matches**. This delivers more natural, reliable recommendations and helps you choose thread colours that better represent the original image in your finished cross-stitch project.
