HIGHLY Recommend!
Extremely comprehensive, easy to use, and offers management of devices that should be included in the Apple Home app - in particular, setting what border router is the leader! Exactly what I was looking for. HIGHLY recommend!
Almost perfect
This app is great for diagnosing or even just understanding how you Thread mesh network is behaving.
One thing that would bump this up to near perfect would be if you could nickname child devices that are HomeKit-Matter. Right now you can see them and their parent, but it shows up in the diagram like “Child 0x1049” for example. Since these seem to be static (S/N or MAC?) it would be great if the user could just manually add an override nickname. And maybe let you tap it to see that it’s non-matter or HomeKit-thread etc.
Even better would be if the app could grab the name from HomeKit automatically like the Eve app does for Thread view. But a manual nickname is good enough.

This app will solve your Thread issues
Thread Doctor is the most comprehensive app for visualize, monitoring and troubleshooting your Thread network. The app is extremely impressive with a very detailed graphic display of your thread mesh network. Matter over Thread devices show even more information. Using it takes the guesswork out of what’s actually happening. It’s like coming in from the dark. Way more useful than the Eve app.

This App is a Must Have
This app provides sooo much more information versus Apple’s dns-sd utility. While dns-sd is useful, this app goes well beyond to show ACTIONABLE information in the form of retransmissions, error rates, reboots, etc.
Exporting Thread Doctor’s JSON scan data and feeding to Claude (or your favorite LLM) gives the LLM a lot to work with, especially if you’ve documented your network Mac/IPs/etc in a form the LLM can digest (I use Markdown with standardized frontmatter managed by Obsidian Notes, but any similar source of truth would be fine).
Thread Doctor works fine on macOS as well (I’m running it under macOS 27 beta 4 which bodes well for when Golden Gate is released.
Kudos to the author. This is a wonderful tool.

A must for all Thread networks
So far, this is the most comprehensive app I’ve found for viewing and monitoring Thread networks. Considering that Apple (HomeKit) basically hides many things their thread network rather than expose it, I find this app pretty impressive. I love the last update — keep them coming and keep up the good work.
