The only flaw is the seasonal match, the opponent is losing and quit the game in the middle of the match. The timer ran out but I can’t not get a win or go back to main menu unless I choose to retire from the match which made me lost. Each move requires sitting through very slow animations about the opponents move and then another that it’s my move. Further, you get all these exciting players but can’t use them because they take too much cost in a squad. There is also a lot of reading. You can skip it, but it’s just a lot. Auch bei Three Kingdoms HEROES hat jede Figur sein eigenes Bewegungsmuster und kann jede andere Figur schlagen – es gibt also keine Hitpoints oder Angriffswerte. Die einzelnen Figuren können jedoch durch den Einsatz von Energie in den „Awaken“-Modus versetzt und gestärkt werden, heißt ihr Bewegungsmuster verändert sich – offensichtlich angelehnt an das japanische Shogi. Gewonnen hat der Spieler, der entweder den gegnerischen Commander schlägt oder nach 15 Spielzügen die meisten Gegner erledigt hat. Klingt wenig Komplex, doch entfaltet HEROES seine Tücken über mehrere Partien. Die Freischaltung neuer Figuren mit neuen Fähigkeiten, wie das Nutzen von Schilden in bestimmte Richtungen oder das Abfeuern von Pfeilen über andere Spielfiguren hinweg, geben dem Spiel von KOEI TECMO mehr und mehr Tiefe. So kann ich in der Kampagne oder auch in Einzelpartien meine Figuren und deren Anordnung wählen, wobei mich eine Gesamtstärke limitiert, so dass es fair bleibt. Nehme ich zwei, drei Figuren mit weitreichenden Bewegungen? Nehme ich einige schwächere Figuren und lege mir die ein oder andere noch in die Reserve, so dass ich sie im Laufe der Partie aufs Brett bringen kann? Die Figuren entscheiden sich dabei durch Bewegungsmuster, teilweise ähnlich wie beim Schach. Jede Figur kann im Rahmen ihrer Bewegungsmuster jede schlagen. Figuren können „erwachen“ und ändern damit ihre Bewegungsmuster. The core gameplay seems to be based on Shogi… and The Duke the board game? Granted, The Duke is based off Shogi anyway. But it’s surprising to see some mechanics like CC tiles appearing in this game. It’s also a live service game, but because it’s Apple Arcade, no one can whale in this game. The mechanics are fairly simple, but the strategy is surprisingly challenging and deep. Definitely has a chess-like feel, but adds more layers of strategic choices with the ability to “awaken” a limited number of units and customize which units you use in each squad.
