I have enjoyed playing this game for the past few months and feel that it’s very good for your mind. Just like our muscles need exercise, so do our brains. I’m not one to play for money, rather just coins, And I’m OK with that.

Challenging app and pretty awesome. Wish it had an undo button for the last move like the other Skilz Apps but that would take away some of the skill needed.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Do not spend a dime of your money on this game

*2021-04-01*

Please beware... this game (and all skillz games) are programmed so you will never win real money. If you are on a roll, they won’t pair you up with anyone and your games will sit unplayed indefinitely. If you are doing so well you are going to bump to a higher earning tier, they delay play even further. They increase the minimum you can add to your account after you play for a while to get you to spend more money.

And you ever try to take out whatever money you put in (less than you started with) good luck trying to get it back.

Full scam.

### 1/5 — Fraud game

*2020-04-01*

I only added this game so I could write a review. It only took one look at the first image for me to see that this is a rip-off of the original 2048. The only thing that I can comprehend as to how this game was created is that the original 2048 was deleted, and those users desperately missed the game. Absolutely HATE when games are created repeatedly in the same fashion just for the new creators to make money off in-app purchases.

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2018-04-02, version 1.6*

Don't waste your time

### 1/5 — Wish I could give Zero stars

*2018-01-19*

On the rare occasion i have a few credits to play a cash game, it doesn’t find me an opponent until AFTER i play. And every cash round i ever played (which is not many) it always gives an opponent AFTER i play and it always gives someone with a higher score than me.
Also i am not spending a single cent of real money for fake virtual credits

### 1/5 — Charging me for not using the game

*2017-12-09*

I used to love this game, but stopped playing it because I’ve been busy and now I’m getting emails and notifications that they are going to charge me $2 monthly fees unless I activate my account... if I ever thought about playing this game again, now I will never!

### 1/5 — Great Idea Terrible Tutorial

*2017-05-23*

I love the idea of a strategic number game, but there are several things lacking.

1. A tutorial that actually explains, step by step, how and why the direction you swipe causes certain tiles to move and others to not.
2. A separate rules guide that you can reference after the tutorial. Right now it seems like the thirty second tutorial is the only way to see the rules. So, take notes the first time.
3. A practice sandbox mode where you can go to play around with the rules, logic, and strategy without everything being a head to head competition.
4. A solo (vs AI) mode where you can enjoy the game without feeling like you have to compare to other people.
Again, I think this has potential but needs a lot of help.

**Developer response:** Thank you for your feedback! We do have info on how the game works on our App Store profile, and it really is just matching pairs that are next to each other. You can also play for practice using the virtual currency without playing in cash competitions. We will pass on your other feedback to Skillz, as they manage the platform our games are experienced on. We hope you can give Threesquare another chance.

### 1/5 — Do yourself a favor and STAY AWAY FROM THIS GAME.

*2017-01-07, version 1.1*

Anyone who doesn't realize the "play for real money" portion of this app is a scam deserves to lose their money on this crooked app.

If you haven't already done the math, I'll do it for you: It takes a $0.60 bet from two players to win $1. This means that of the total $1.20, $1 goes to the winner and $0.20 goes to Skillz (the app developer) so the more games they get you to play, the more money they make. They accomplish this by running daily competitions to incentivized you to play more games and win "prize money". This might as well be monopoly money because you can never cash it out. You just have to keep playing until you lose it. And if you try to cash out any of your existing real money, they'll tell you that you have to forfeit all of the "prize money" you won if you do.

It gets worse: they do something sneaky that is marketed as "fair" by saying that they match you with someone "of similar skill level". (Can you imagine if they did that with poker players at casinos?? LOL!) Assuming they do this correctly with their fancy algorithm (which obviously just averages player scores), the odds of you or your opponent winning should be about 50/50 since you are being "evenly matched". This means that if you win 50% of the games, you're still losing money because the house is taking a $0.20 rake for every game being played.

The ONLY WAY to be profitable is to win two games for every one that you lose: two games won = $2, three buy-ins at $0.60 each = $1.80. A WHOPPING $0.20 profit!!! But wait--how are you supposed to consistently win 2/3 games if you're matched at the same skill level?? Its truly comical of you think about it.

This is a highly unethical business model for Skillz, shame on them. Don't let these thieves capitalize on your stupidity.

### 1/5 — They are ripping you off

*2017-01-04, version 1.1*

Each player pays $0.60, combining to $1.20 and you only win $1.00. So they are taking $0.20 for each game, they are taking over 16% in profit for themselves. If you win 100 games you only win $4.00. It's not worth the time.

### 2/5 — Can retrieve my account

*2021-09-14, version 1.18*

I opened it and its a new player

### 2/5 — I agree 100% with no mas.

*2018-10-09*

If Threesquare is really about matching numbers side by side and that’s the only rule, then state that easily on the game side.

Another suggestion. Include in your game the option to play against yourself with a time option.

The challenger idea is brilliant. But since games are played often to pass time, all you want is a self challenge.

Good luck!
