## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.3 — 2026-08-31

Fixed: shows that are still running were sometimes listed as ending.
The Calendar's finale list now uses each show's real season length
instead of guessing from the episodes in the current month, and tells
you whether an episode closes out the season or the entire series.
The tab is now called Finales.

New: pull down on any show to re-sync it with TMDB. Handy when a
season has just been announced and the episode list looks out of date.

Improved: when something goes wrong, the app now tells you what
actually happened instead of showing an error code.

### 1.2 — 2026-07-23

Thrifty Streamer 1.2 is all about knowing what your shows really cost:

• Cost to Watch — open any show to see what it costs on every service that carries it: price per episode, monthly cost, and whether it's already covered by a service you pay for ($0 extra!). Plus the Thrifty tip: the cheapest subscribe-binge-cancel plan, so you never pay all year for one show.

• For You news — a personalized news feed matched to the shows you track and the services you use. Flip between For You and All right on the News tab.

• A longer news feed with more streaming headlines per refresh.

• Sign in is now available straight from Settings.

• New family safety protections: age-appropriate content filtering and ad settings for younger viewers.

• A few small ads now help keep Thrifty Streamer free — they'll never get in the way of your shows.

### 1.1.2 — 2026-06-02

• iPad Sidebar & Split Layout: Introducing a custom sidebar list layout utilizing NavigationSplitView on iPad. Easily navigate between Home, Shows, Calendar, Services, and News feeds in a split-screen layout.
  • Adaptive Grid Scaling: Show poster cards and news cards automatically scale from 1–2 columns on iPhone up to 3–4 columns on iPad, adapting to your screen size or split-view state.
  • Performance Resiliency: Under-the-hood stability improvements for the main app navigation interface and background database loader.

### 1.1.1 — 2026-05-31

• Streaming Service Filter Chips: Easily filter your shows by streaming service (Netflix, Hulu, Prime Video, etc.) directly on the Shows screen to see what's on each list.
  • Smooth Infinite Scroll: Upgraded the Shows screen to load your watchlist in batches with smooth infinite scrolling and loading indicators, resulting in faster load times and less cellular data usage.
  • Bug Fixes: Fixed a progress tracking bug that caused offline shows to display 0 / 0 episodes on the Shows tab, and resolved a launch crash issue for some users.

### 1.1 — 2026-05-19

• Cancellation suggestions — see services you may not need on the Dashboard
  • Manage Providers — track your cable/phone/internet and discover bundle savings
