Lately when watching movies or listen to music on apps the volume was cut way back so I could hardly hear. I spoke with a tech and we step my step checked the setting. We made some adjustment and it was volume back to normal. It lasted a few days now my left one squeals if I hold it and I’m hearing the start up tones but Thrive say it is off. So my iphone isn’t getting the sound from it and but the settings for bluetooth acknowledge 2 devices. I’m 80 and this is very upsetting. The location close to me that I always go to is only open Mon and Wed I don’t drive and have no one to drive me to a different location which means taking a highway and I don’t drive those unless I have no other option. ### 4/5 — OKAY- but needs improvement - 5 year user *2026-08-02, version 3.9.0* Mostly does what it should. I searched for a resolution online and first AI recommendation was to permanently remove Thrive from my iPhone. Now I just have to figure out how to program my hearing aids so I can adjust the volume with the two buttons on each one. After fighting with this problem for several years I have come to hate the Thrive app and Starkey hearing aids, which are at best, very expensive mediocre hearing aids. ### 2/5 — Hard to connect to this app. *2026-02-09, version 3.7.0* My hearing aids instantly connect to my iPhone. The app freezes regularly I have never had a day without problems. My connection to me aids drops off daily one or both aids . I don’t wear them anymore the frustration is too much , weekly visits to my hearing centre is too much . Was told it was because I had purchased my iPhone in the US. DOES NOT WORK EVEN AFTER BUYING A NEW IPHONE IN SPAIN! Keeps giving me the same message- Update needed, then crashes!!!This is an update to my prior review where I had deemed this app worthless. The Starkey Evolv AI 2400 hearing aids enter Edge mode by tapping on your ear! This creates issues when chewing, crunching, wearing a mask, etc. as the hearing aids think you are entering Edge mode. My audiologist disabled this functionality and almost everything works well now. Now more constant ‘Normal’ being spoken, or trilling rings over and over. However Stream Boost is an issue. Even when not attempting to listen to music or video- just surfing the web in my phone or playing games turns on Stream Boost, even if I have the sound for a gamer set to off! Zero stars! *2025-12-11, version 3.7.0* Do not buy Starkey hearing aids. This app is useless. You can’t get connection with your iPhone and if you have two hearing aids like me, forget it! It cant cope. It can only find one or the other not both and even then it doesn’t cannot. Buy another brand of hearing aid. ### 2/5 — Translation Has Never Worked *2025-11-29, version 3.7.0* My Starkey dealer told me three years ago when I first purchased my Evolv AI devices that the translation function was barely functional. You haven’t updated your app in over a year. That’s a century in Apple app world. So many new functions available in that time period - especially with iOS 26 - what are your app designers doing? Basic functions (and more) are available natively via Settings/Accessibility. When can we expect Translate to work … and why does it default to Bosnian? Nearing time when I can replace my Evolv AI’s with the latest Phonak devices. No connection to the people I have on my fall list. Never pairs with my hearing aids and then when it does find them it’s constantly cutting out and then comes back. Half the time only plays music in one ear. I was very excited for this technology and feel ripped off. It frequently has trouble finding my hearing aids. I have to reboot my phone and hearing aids to get it to connect. The Audiologist has too much control and has to do everything from their own computer. I can’t even edit a custom sound. I want it labeled Tinnitus and it says Normal 2. Also there is no way to monitor the batteries. My hearing aids are Starsky…. This is what I have to use. However 18 months ago, I kept losing connection on my phone and finally gave up. Then the last year only one of them would connect on the iPad. Now the app just tells me I need to close and reopen it for “functionality” reasons. I had all working with my devices until recently. Now they only pair with my phone. I’m not computer savvy, but I can at least figure this out, but not now. With help from developer and Apple, I was able to connect with other devices besides my iPhone. Thank you. Much better. **Developer response:** You should not need to pair the devices once they have been paired. You would need to turn off the Bluetooth on the devices you do not need it connect to before you can get the other once to see it. Unless you are using our newest hearing aids, it cannot be directly connected to a Windows computer.
