So. Far so good. I like how they explain each verse. It helps me get a better understanding and makes it useful for all ages. Great app

### 5/5 — Devotional

*2026-08-28, version 5.1.1*

I was a pastor for 35 years and this is the best resource I have found for going through Scripture. My wife and I started using this as our devotional and it has been transformational. Thank you for your work on this!

### 5/5 — Love Thrugh the Word

*2026-08-27, version 5.1.1*

I truly have been blessed by Through the Word. It has made me see the Bible so differently, and it makes me want to read my Bible even more. I appreciate the guides/teachers, their excitement about the Bible and the Lord, and how they break things down so everyone can understand them. Love it.

### 5/5 — Best Bible learning app

*2026-08-26, version 5.1.1*

I love this app. It makes understanding the Bible easy for anyone. References, encouragement, great stories make for great Bible learning. I have learned more about Jesus and Gods word through this app, than any other I’ve tried. I highly recommend the TTW app.

### 5/5 — Midnight Miracles

*2026-08-26, version 5.1.1*

The wee hours of the morning silence awakens me all summer long, to hear a Psalm read to me, my heart listening ever so sweetly to a song of hope and trust ❣️❣️

Through the Word is my guide. ❣️🌈🙏🏻

### 5/5 — Best comprehensive Bible study

*2026-08-26, version 5.1.1*

No other app brings so much high quality content. And it’s free. It’s like you get to take a bunch of Calvary Chapels home and never miss a beat lol. They make it so easy to do the right thing and see after God and know Him better.

### 5/5 — Wonderful teaching!

*2026-08-25, version 5.1.1*

I really enjoy the teaching from TTW. I first found TTW in the You Version Bible app but then discovered that TTW has its own app and am so thankful.
I have heard teaching from Kris, Peyton, and Melanie and love the personal references, stories, and humor, as well as music references that make the teaching relative and entertaining.
In the Books such as Numbers, Leviticus, and Psalms, to name a few that I have gone through so far, Kris, Peyton and Melanie have helped the stories, characters and lessons of the Bible come alive for me.
I just finished the 43 day Psalms Chapter 1 study and got to know and understand David as never before.
Wonderful teaching!!
I definitely recommend the teaching of TTW and recommend the app!

### 5/5 — One of the best

*2026-08-24, version 5.1.1*

Has revolutionized my daily Bible study and made the Word accessible to so many people in my life

### 5/5 — Through the Word Bible reading

*2026-08-24, version 5.1.1*

Making God’s word easier to understand.

### 5/5 — Wonderfully organized study plan

*2026-08-23, version 5.1.1*

After using different apps and study plans, I was searching for something a bit deeper, something structured chapter by chapter in which I could really learn about each book of the Bible in a comprehensive way, and it’s context and overall message within the Bible. The teachers are amazing! You will be given background info on what was happening culturally at the time, or the meanings behind the Greek and Hebrew words, or how it relates to other parts of the Bible i.e. fulfilling prophecy. And you’ll always always be encouraged to read and study the word for yourself! No religious agenda being pushed here, just inspiring others to dive deep into God‘s living word. I give it ALL the stars!

### 5/5 — Great app!

*2026-08-23, version 5.1.1*

I started using the TTW reading plans in the YouVersion Bible app and loved them.
Then I found the TTW app and there are more reading guides and plans. It’s been really great to keep me reading daily and getting commentary from the staff at TTW.
Thank you so much!

### 5/5 — Chapter by chapter

*2026-08-22, version 5.1.1*

I found Through the Word in the Bible App. I really enjoy the one chapter at a time and listening to the individual teachers explain each one. It has strengthened my relationship with the LORD. I open the app every morning after I finish my Bible App devotional…I would be lost without both of them. Keep up the good work and God bless you all involved.

### 5/5 — Best Bible Study App Ever

*2026-08-22, version 5.1.1*

My friends and I have been consistently starting and completing plans on this app. I love the way the different teachers explain what each particular chapter is about, connecting the scriptures to life today. We did the Discipology Plan and now I’m doing The Book of John with one of the people I was praying about and working with during Discipology. Anyway, TTW only takes generally about 10 minutes a day but it’s always very profound. And hearing friends’ comments helps us all to grow closer to each other and to God. Thank you so very much!!

### 5/5 — Cynthia J

*2026-08-20, version 5.1.1*

Love Through The Word!! The explanations of the chapters you’re about to hear or if you listen to the explanations after you read/hear the chapters, make the Bible so much more understandable in today’s world. Thank you to everybody who has any part in this beautiful journey, I look Forward to this every day💝

### 5/5 — Amazing!

*2026-08-20, version 5.1.1*

The Through the Word audio guide has been such a blessing to me. I feel so connected to God and his Word and the anticipation of what he will continue to reveal book by book. I am so encouraged that TTW is able to reach brothers and sisters all over the world!

### 4/5 — Bible plans

*2026-08-20, version 5.1.1*

On the whole the plans are well presented (at least when Kris or Peyton are doing the talk) and provide some useful backstory and context to difficult parts of the text. It is presented with enough challenge and the use of humour is appropriate and effective.
It encourages me to seek further clarification when the text is not easy to understand.

### 5/5 — Awesome, Rad, Gnarly

*2026-08-20, version 5.1.1*

I really love this app. Helps deepen understanding of the bible, and the context behind each book. While also giving some funny story’s from the different pastors!! I also love how in some of the passages it’s shown how science and the bible work together. But also saying there are more than one way of looking at things. Thankyouuu all TTW pastors!!!

### 5/5 — Through the Word

*2026-08-19, version 5.1.1*

love this app!

### 5/5 — Like a good neighbor

*2026-08-19, version 5.1.1*

TTW is a comfort, an encouragement, a source of calm and peace.
How fortunate it is to have this neighbor so close every day!

### 5/5 — Not a Game Changer - A Life Changer!!

*2026-08-18, version 5.1.1*

A group of four ladies from church had planned to go on vacation together… so we decided to start TTW in hopes we’d get to know each other a little better. Twenty months later. Vacation has come and gone. And we’re still meeting in this app every day. We no longer meet to know each other better. We meet to know Jesus better. And that has changed our lives. This app… the teachers… the Word. Join in. You will not be the same.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Offensive

*2026-05-26, version 5.1.1*

I’ve just listened to Sandy Adams in 2 Chronicles 21. His description of taking a funeral of a man who drank himself to death and then saying what a wasted life he led I find really offensive. It is obvious that Sandy Adams has never had a family member or close Friend who has struggled with alcoholism or addiction. If you were to ask 9 out of 10 addicts what they would like most it is to be free of this illness because that’s what it is an illness but it’s not that easy and so to call somebody’s life wasted because of an illness is appalling. Would you say the same about someone who struggled with MS and couldn’t do much with their life, no he wouldn’t. So why say it about someone else’s illness? It is an offensive comment to thousands of people from someone who has obviously never walked that journey themselves or with someone close to them.

### 1/5 — Used to love this app

*2026-04-30, version 5.1.1*

I used to love this app and used it all the time for personal use, Bible study with my wife, and in our men’s Bible study group. I’ve recommended it to many people and have praised it for years.

But over time, I’ve started noticing more and more deep christian zionism undertones in the teachings. Terms like israeli and west bank are being used when those terms aren’t mentioned anywhere in the Bible, which raises concerns about modern political ideas being layered into Scripture. I also found it troubling to hear sigmund freud highlighted as one of the top 10 most influential Jews in history, which felt completely out of place in a Bible teaching context.

On top of that, there are teachers from calvary church involved, which I personally view as a highly questionable influence, and that perspective shows up in the way certain parts of the Bible are taught.

I’ve really enjoyed listening to Kris Langham and Peyton Jones, but it’s becoming harder to continue because much of the teaching seems rooted in what I see as a problematic zionistic perspective.

As world events continue to unfold, it’s becoming clearer to me that these influences are shaping the teaching more than I’m comfortable with.

It’s with a heavy heart that I’m choosing to step away and look for another platform or set of teachings to continue studying the Bible.

### 1/5 — 1 John reader

*2026-04-22, version 5.1.0*

Can’t explain but not smooth

### 1/5 — Bad upgrade

*2026-04-12, version 5.0.5*

Please go back to your last app. This one’s really hard to use if my hands are not free cause I’m working it takes forever to get through the different comments of the different people.
Not only that I have trouble knowing in this new app which ones I’ve looked at and which ones I haven’t

### 1/5 — Update ruined it

*2026-04-08, version 5.0.5*

My best friend and I were using this to read the Bible together bc we are a few hours away from each other. It was great until the latest update. Now all our recordings to each other are disorganized, which makes things difficult bc we are in different places in reading. It’s not as user friendly as it was before. We stopped using it, unfortunately. It got too cumbersome. Please change it back!

### 1/5 — Passion week disappeared!

*2026-04-02, version 5.0.5*

I wanted to follow Jesus’ activities through Passion Week. I found a good spot on Jack Hibbs’ Real Life Network and shared it with a friend. She then sent me a link to this one. I listened to the Monday lesson, and I downloaded the App.
On Tuesday, I tried to listen to the Tuesday lesson, but try as I might, I could not find it on the app anyplace. Nor did they have a “search” to try.
I’m very disappointed because it really was a well done lesson and made me want to listen to some other things available in this app.
Guess I’ll just listen to Jack Hibbs’ site - which is quite good too.

### 1/5 — Update

*2026-03-27, version 5.0.2*

The new update requires opening each response in a group to listen to the next response. Very annoying

### 1/5 — The new update makes this app unusable

*2026-03-26, version 5.0.2*

Please change the display settings back to the original settings before this app was updated. The display settings are impossible to make comments on previous chapters in my group is find it difficult to know which chapter we are replying to. It looks like a text stream, but I much preferred the way it was set up before. Is there a way in the settings that you can have a classic look?

### 1/5 — Updated format

*2026-03-25, version 5.0.2*

The new format is not as user friendly as the former. Not really a fan, wish the old format was available. Don’t understand why update was necessary, if I ain’t broke…

### 1/5 — Ron Brown

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Two Thumbs & Two Big Toes Up!!

*2026-09-07, version 5.1.1*

### 5/5 — Early Morning Devotions

*2026-08-30, version 5.1.1*

Each morning I wake up about 5 am, make some coffee, get my journal, and settle in to a chapter in a book I’m learning about in TTW. Inductive bible study is something I really appreciate and connect to, so this format feels a lot like that method. I love it! As I listen, I journal some facts, impressions and, literally, some devotional thoughts as well. I always end in a written prayer and sign off with Amen and sign my name. This makes it my devotion or letter to the Lord. I’ve been doing this for almost two years and with TTW for a little more than a year. I’m 65, and I’ve been a believer for about 50 years- crazy! Thank you all at TTW and all of the supporters, and please remember that you are making such an impact for the Lord!
Thanks again! Steve

### 5/5 — TTW is AWESOME!

*2026-08-30, version 5.1.1*

I’m blessed every single day by TTW! I have been through many of the audio guides and continue to learn about my Lord and Savior every night before going to sleep. I’ve not been close with a Church in a long time. I like the small personal connections you make in rural towns. Since I spend a large portion of my time in London Ontario Canada now, I’ve not made a connection; but, when I get back to my US residence in Alamo NV, I try to get to my tiny Christian Church there. But, since finding TTW, Pastor Chris and his crew have become my Church family virtually every day. I have a long way to go in my journey, but the TTW pastors help me move a step closer everyday! Follow it and fill your heart and spirt with the holy gospel! Bless this team and those who support TTW!

### 5/5 — 🔥🔥🔥
