## What is Throughline?

Throughline is a voice-first external memory for a scattered mind.

Your best thoughts show up at the worst times — in the shower, mid-meeting, walking to the car. Throughline gives you one place to offload them: just talk, and it catches your threads — tasks, notes, appointments, lists, ideas — and hands the right one back when it actually matters.

It's not a to-do list. It's a trusted place to put down what's on your mind, so a busy brain can finally let go of it.

HOW IT WORKS
• Talk, don't type. Ramble a brain-dump and Throughline splits it into clean, separate threads automatically.
• Organize by voice. Say "move the slideshow to Work," "complete the dentist," or "make a project called Wedding" — and it just happens.
• Get the right thing back. Each morning, Throughline surfaces the one or two threads that need you now — never the whole overwhelming pile.
• Close the loop, three ways. Finish it, bank it for later, or deliberately let it go. Every one counts as a win — no shame pile, no overdue counter, no guilt.

WHAT IT CATCHES
• Tasks — the things you actually have to do
• Notes — the thought or idea you want to keep, not act on
• Appointments — added to your calendar, then tucked into Coming up once they've happened
• Lists — say "start a grocery list: eggs, coffee, the good bread" and tick it off later. Add to any list by voice, anytime
• Intentions — the standing "exercise more" kind of aim, held to three at a time so it stays honest

BUILT FOR BUSY, JUMPY ATTENTION
If your focus leaps between a dozen contexts — classes, clients, kids, projects — Throughline is built for exactly that. Offload a thread the second it appears, trust that it's safe, and stay present with what's in front of you.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
Your thoughts stay yours. Voice is transcribed on your device — the audio itself is never uploaded. Cloud features that sharpen your results — smarter capture, your morning pick, and the email digest — are on to start, and the first time you open the app it tells you exactly what they do and who's involved, and lets you keep everything on-device instead. Nothing leaves your phone until you've seen that and said yes. Even with cloud on, personal details like names, places, and numbers are stripped off on your device first, so only de-identified text is ever sent. Turn any of it off anytime in the You tab. No ads. No tracking. We don't sell your data.

WHAT YOU CAN DO
• Capture by voice or text, hands-free
• Auto-sort into Tasks, Notes, Appointments, Lists, and Intentions
• Add appointments to your calendar and see what's coming up
• Group threads by project, priority, or kind
• Get a gentle morning digest of what you closed (optional)
• Back up and move your data with on-device export / import

WHAT'S FREE, AND WHAT PRO ADDS
The core is free and always will be: capture by voice or typing, your board, closing loops, reminders, appointments on your calendar, lists and intentions, the morning email, and the last 30 days of Looking Back.

Throughline Pro adds the looking-back extras — full Rewind detail, your all-time history, and the weekly and monthly recap emails. $4.99/month or $39.99/year after a two-week free trial, or $99.99 once. Everyone who was already here when Pro arrived keeps every feature free, forever.

Payment is charged to your App Store account. Subscriptions renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends; manage or cancel in your App Store settings.

### 5/5 — Super helpful!

*2026-07-11*

This app has been so helpful with organizing my thoughts. I use the widget so I don’t even need to open it - I can just verbalize my to do list and it organizes it for me. And the design is really simple so there’s not too much to navigate which is also so helpful.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.3.3 — 2026-09-15

• Throughline Pro is here. The core stays free — capture, your board, closing loops, reminders, your calendar, lists, intentions, the morning email and the last 30 days of Looking Back. Pro adds full Rewind detail, all-time history, and the weekly and monthly recap emails.
• Everyone who was already here keeps every feature free, forever.
• Put appointments on your calendar: say when something is, and Throughline can add it to the calendar you already use. Turn it on in You → Calendar.
• Repeating threads: set a chore or routine to repeat, and it comes back on its own schedule — including on the Coming up list, where the repeat marker now stays put.

### 1.3.2 — 2026-09-01

• Captures are more patient on slow connections — cloud structuring now waits up to 90 seconds and always falls back gracefully.
• The capture screen now says "Unwinding…" while it works.
• Privacy hardening under the hood: every intake path is pinned to the de-identification seam, with a build-failing tripwire keeping it that way.
• Reliability: an empty AI reply now falls back cleanly, and refused uploads stop retrying.

### 1.3.1 — 2026-08-22

A privacy fix, and clearer words.

• Choosing "Keep everything on-device" — or turning Smart capture (cloud) off — now also stops de-identified copies of your captures from being sent to us. It should have all along; now it does.
• The consent screen and the You tab say exactly what your phone strips before anything reaches the AI, and what we keep.

### 1.3.0 — 2026-08-18

The Threads board is easier to live with when it gets big.

• Select several threads at once and move them to a project, or change their kind or priority together
• Sub-projects fold away with their parent, so a crowded board collapses to an overview
• The board remembers whether you left it on Kind, Priority or Project
• Long typed unwinds no longer lose threads off the end

### 1.2.0 — 2026-08-15

A gentler start. Your first unwind is now guided, so your very first capture makes sense before you are on your own — and the rest of the app introduces itself as you go, instead of everything arriving at once.

Also new:
• The privacy policy and terms are now a tap away in the You tab
• Steadier storage: if your notes ever fail to open, the app now tells you instead of quietly looking empty
