### 2/5 — Excellent content. Incredibly buggy

*2026-06-12, version 1.4.3*

I find the content and training plans to be great. However when trying to track your workout and log your sets the app shuts itself down and due to the volume of pop ups when logging each set, it freezes and needs to be rebooted. I suggest there is an investment into fixing the bugs that cause these issues to make this a truly elite application and user experience.

### 3/5 — Good but could be better

*2026-06-03, version 1.4.0*

The only thing that could make the app better is if you could create an exercise. I would like to incorporate some of my tried and true exercises but since they are not in the database, I can’t track them for progressive overload.

### 5/5 — New to app

*2025-12-04, version 1.3.29*

Great start seeing results quickly

### 5/5 — Awesome

*2025-11-29, version 1.3.29*

Has completely changed my structure and approach to training. Made me realise I’ve been winging it in the gym for the past 8yrs

### 2/5 — Great Workouts, But the App Needs Serious Fixing

*2025-11-04, version 1.3.28*

I’ve really enjoyed using the THRST app over the past couple of years. The workouts themselves are simple, effective, and deliver great results.

However, my main issue lies with the app’s functionality and performance. For months now, it’s been extremely buggy. Navigating within a workout (for example, trying to swap exercises) causes noticeable lag, and in many cases, the app completely crashes or resets. It’s a huge time-waster and often kills my momentum during training.

It’s also frustrating that every time I open the app, I have to dismiss the same notification pop-up twice before I can start. There should be an option to decline notifications permanently instead of being prompted every session.

Another major downside is that the app requires an internet connection to access workouts. When traveling or training in areas with poor reception, I can’t view my routines at all. Offline access would be a major improvement.

Lastly, the overall design and user experience could use an update. The workouts are great, but the app itself feels dated and clunky with certain aspects/ notes and functionalities not being clear.

In summary, THRST has excellent programming and real potential, but the app desperately needs technical and usability improvements. If these issues get resolved, I’ll happily update my rating, but for now, the inconveniences are too big to ignore.

### 5/5 — App Issues

*2025-10-26, version 1.3.26*

I love this app however it is having a serious bug. When you’re in the middle of your workout and want to check your lift history, once that screen opens you cannot go back to your workout, the back arrow no longer works. The same thing happens when you open a previous workout that you’ve completed, the back button does not work. These are two major issues that prevent easy usage of the app, it’s a shame. Please fix it. If fixed, it’s a 5 star app, if not, it’s not as useful.

### 5/5 — Amazing app

*2025-10-20, version 1.3.23*

As a coach, I’ve tried so many other apps and programs and this one is not just different, it’s complete.

Good job to Mike and his teammates!

### 5/5 — Simple and ideal

*2025-10-14, version 1.3.23*

I’ve been training on and off for 10 / 15 years. Always been skeptical about paying a subscription for workouts, I’ve always researched my own on and off but I wasn’t aware of other certain exercises and the combinations like this app shows, more importantly the results are showing and it gives me motivation to continue. Would highly recommend and worth every penny.

### 5/5 — High Notch!!!

*2025-07-23, version 1.3.23*

This app is really what you need for your fitness journey, very good quality

### 5/5 — 📈

*2025-05-21, version 1.3.23*

Excellent app for someone to get organized in the gym

### 5/5 — Easy and effective

*2025-05-02, version 1.3.21*

Easy to use and follow.

### 4/5 — Great, one minor change!

*2025-03-18, version 1.3.11*

Love the app overall, but would be great if you could add additional exercises into a workout. Eg. adding dips to an upper workout which does not include this, without having to replace another exercise!

### 5/5 — Home or gym workout

*2025-03-17, version 1.3.11*

As someone with a super busy schedule, finding time for the gym has always been a challenge. That’s why I really appreciate the THRST app by Mike Thurston. The home workouts are incredibly effective, especially with resistance bands and minimal equipment. It’s been a game-changer for me — I can stay consistent and get a great workout without sacrificing extra time. Highly recommend it for anyone juggling a hectic routine!

### 3/5 — Good but lot of issues

*2025-01-24, version 1.3.7*

This is a good app don’t get me wrong but a lot of stuff could be better like the workouts give you dropsets as excercises but you can’t track the drop set on the tracker and also there’s a built in timer which is used in between sets but if you go off the app or use something else it doesn’t work. It’s just little things like that which could be changed. And the format or some of the pages aren’t great either. I think Mike needs to talk to some customers and actually understand the issues from the customer instead of just going off what he knows.

### 3/5 — Recent issues

*2025-01-16, version 1.3.7*

Been a subscriber to this app for the better part of 2 years and I absolutely love the app! However recently the app has felt incredibly clunky and unresponsive at times.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Terrible customer support

*2026-08-15, version 1.4.6*

I’ve been a quarterly subscriber now for a while, on first use I noticed the check-in features to track bodyweight and upload progress photos don’t work. I contacted customer support and was asked to send screen recordings of what I’d experienced, and explain the issue in detail. That was about six months ago and I’ve followed up five times since. Each time I get fobbed off that there’s a high volume of work on and the issue is being looked into. As a paying subscriber, the quarterly sub costs me £42.99 - this is not good enough. I’m paying for a key feature I do not get. The app is good, the support from developers is terrible. I hope that Mike reads this and gets some insight into how the app is being run for his paying customers.

### 1/5 — Buggy and poor customer support

*2026-05-30, version 1.4.0*

Don’t waste your money. On offer for a reason. App crashes mid work out. You lose your session. Then you can add to your workout so you can’t track.

Customer support is useless avoid!

### 1/5 — App is very buggy

*2026-02-24, version 1.3.56*

The app no longer tracks my previous set weight and the timer alert has stopped working. I’m switching to a different workout app the works with my Apple Watch.

### 1/5 — Glitchy

*2026-02-23, version 1.3.56*

The app is quite glitchy. It’s frustrating that it keeps restarting my workout if I exit the app to control music, etc. it also does not allow you to substitute some exercises which is annoying if the gym you’re at doesn’t have a certain machine. Will not be renewing membership.

### 1/5 — Scam

*2025-12-02, version 1.3.29*

I tried to click on the Black Friday deal 4 different times. It would pull up a black screen. I finally gave up and decided to just pay the full price. I download the app... I log in, click on the gender button, the gym button, and then it brings me to a blank white page!!! What the heck. I want a refund. I can't even use it

### 1/5 — Marketing Scam!

*2024-12-21, version 1.2.6*

After paying upfront for the app I began receiving a ton of marketing emails. I’ve been asking since February 2024 for THRST to permanently delete my data, THRST customer support confirmed that my request has been actioned yet I still receive THRST marketing emails as of December 2024!

### 1/5 — Summer Shredder Workout Does Not Load - Please fix it

*2024-03-20, version 1.1.30*

Summer Shredder Workout doesn’t seem to load any weeks, permanent spinning logo.

### 1/5 — Unstable and buggy

*2023-11-25, version 1.1.14*

iPhone 14 Pro. Tried to sign up multiple times but it just lags out and takes over my phone, by this I mean I cannot close the app nor even lock my phone it just stays on the app. Don’t trust it so have uninstalled.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work offline

*2023-08-11, version 1.1.14*

I can’t use this in my gym as it’s a basement gym in a city and has no mobile signal or Wi-Fi.

This app should support offline mode.

### 1/5 — Poor quality

*2023-06-04, version 1.1.9*

The meal plans are not tailored to your goals. You’re just given meal plans from 1500-4000 so if you’re trying to gain or lose weight you have no idea which to choose.

The app is more of a glorified note taker. You could easily track ur reps / weight on ur phone notes. I expect an app to recognise the data input and increase the volume or weight each month(s) etc.

The app should give you workouts which track ur weight and reps and increase them progressively each month, The same with the weight.
If you’re bulking then the app should give you a set number of calories which should increase each week. You then input ur weight each week, the app recognises ur weight and if ur on goal of the 0.5lb/week goal which is normally suggested during a bulk. The app should alter your calories based on ur weight results.
The same during a cut. Meal plans should then be given each time your calorie intake changes and show Marcos, where it finds ur weight and hits a minimum of 2g of protein per kg of BW. The app does none of the things mentioned above, which are all the fundamentals.

Still a big Mike fan :)
