It does show where lightning is striking. ### 2/5 — I loved it, but it stopped working. *2022-07-02, version 1.8* I downloaded this long ago , my grandkids and I loved it. I believe after the iOS 15.2 update it stopped working. It loads and shows earth, but won’t show lighting strikes any longer and any information on ho many strikes and so on. I hope they can fix the problem. It’s a five star when it worked. But I have not been able to get it to work for 2 years. It worked when I had an iPhone 8 but since I started using a newer iPhone I think I’ve tried everything I could to get it functioning again with no success. I don’t have an internet connection problem. I have deleted the app and started it over again at least 50 times. I spent too much time trying to check every possible setting on my phone to figure out how to get the app to function. I have reached out to the developer at least 5 times. He once replied and said he would help but nothing changed and he hasn’t responded for most of the 2 years. I open the app and nothing happens. I see only spots where there was activity but no lightening strikes have ever occurred. I’ve searched online many times to find a solution. I have tried everything I could find online to get this app to work. I have found that I am not the only person who has this problem. I believe I read one person said the app developer did something to help the issue for him but I can’t seem to get the app developer to do whatever it was in my case. I am sad because I really, really enjoyed this app when it worked. It’s too bad the app developer doesn’t care to help. ### 1/5 — Pretty useless *2022-10-18, version 1.8* This was on my phone. I never understood what it did until reading the reviews. It no longer is supported. No update in years. The lightning totals do not count strikes anymore. The dev website is no longer up. The aurora feature is no longer updated. I was trying to check the aurora data due to the recent solar activity dropping it further south then usual. It is unfortunate because this app had a cool look and simple layout along with cool features. Sadly, I opened the app today because we have some really good storms in the area, only to see that it’s completely silent. I can see some weather clouds, but no thunder. No lightning. No haptics. Nothing. I checked the App Store and realized it’s been 6 years since the last update from the dev. It made me incredibly sad. I only wish this app would magically spring back to life. The latest version is crashing on my iPhone 8 Plus on iOS 12. Original review/ I love this app! It works great on my iPhone 8 Plus. I hope the devs have not abandoned it as it has not been updated in 10 months. :/ Devs, please make the iPad experience a pleasant one. This would be remarkable on an iPad. But currently, the only option is to download the tiny iPhone app and use it on the giant iPad screen. It doesn’t look right, and it is awkward as it only has one portrait mode and no landscape mode and you can’t turn it upside down on the iPad. You can enlarge the app on the iPad, but it still doesn’t look right. It also crashed once on my iPad Pro 2018 12.9”. It is simply wonderful to move the globe and to be able to look at the earth as though one were looking at it from outer space! I love seeing the live lightning and thunder and listening to them. Please upgrade the iPad experience and make it as nice as it is on the iPhone.
